CHAPTER FOUR

Miriam's pov

I shared a look with Steph as josh got in. I became scared hoping he didn't overheard our conversation.

"Good Morning, Sunshine" he greeted as he kissed my forehead, that's a sign right?

"Good morning," I muttered "what's up with the face?" I asked him, I want to be sure the face wasn't because of me, of what I said.

He sighed " I just got off from a call with my assistant, yesterday which I decided to have fun, she wasn't able to reach me and I just lost a business deal that was important to me" he said.

Oh thank God!, I let out a breathe of relief, I thought he heard us.

"I'm sorry for that" felling sorry for his loss.

"It happens sometimes, just part of the risks in business" he said and I squeezed his shoulder in comfort.

"I think I should take my laeve" Steph suggested, I knew what she meant by that statement.

"No, it's okay, breakfast is ready, I came to wake up sunshine, didn't know I would meet you here, if you don't mind we could all go down together.

" you both go ahead, I would love to do some refreshing before going down" I said, I just remembered I had my makeup on I must look like a vampire or a witch, oh no!

They all left as I went into the bathroom to get myself cleaned up and surely I did look worst than I had expected.

I saw an extra brush I used it to brush out the offensive smell from my mouth, had a quick shower, I came out feeling and looking fresh, yep! I love this.

I headed down towards the dinning rooml, I followed the scent of the food that wafted through my nose which led me to the direction of the dining room.

There, was Steph was entertaining the guys as usual.

"Morning everyone" I said as I grabbed a seat to sit on.

"Morning" they both chorused.

"Here you go sunshine," Josh said as he loaded my plate up with some scrambled eggs and baked salmon, Tasty! I felt my mouth watered at the sight of the food.

We were done eating, Adrian was off to drop Steph, I was prepared to go as I took out my phone from my purse about to order an Uber.

"Come on let's go" josh said over my shoulders

"Where?" I asked confused.

"I want to drop you off, but an address would be needed" he answered staring at me.

"Fine lets go" I said as we both went out towards the garage, I gave him the address of the penthouse.

As we got to the penthouse, Josh requested for my number wanting to keep in touch, and I complied.

"See you some other time" he said.

"See you" I said waving at him as he drove off.

I inserted the key, only to find out that the door was opened, I contemplated going in or not when I remembered I always have a pepper spray with me always.

As I turned the knob and went in, I saw Alicia sitting on the couch, giving me a condescending look.

"Hey?" I said uncertain on what to say.

"Is that one of your client?" She asked her tone having an underlying meaning

"What do you mean by that?" I asked getting mad.

"What I mean is that, you go around fucking other guys why you claim to be in a relationship with my brother" she answered raising to her full height as she stood up from the couch.

"I don't know what you are talking about" I said moving away from her and heading to my room.

"I'm not yet talking, where do you think you're going?" She yelled at me as she grabbed my hands pulling me back and intercepting my way.

"Where else do you think? look I have no strength for this" I said as I attempted to move again but it was futile as she kept on stopping me.

I pushed her to the couch trying to move away from her and she grabbed my legs making me slipped.

We kept on rolling on the floor until Nathan Seperated us.

"What is the meaning of this nonsense" he

thundered, we stop fighting and stop up, my gown already shredded and Alicia's with little blood dripping from her nose, the punch did pay.

"This whore attacked me" Alicia said crying trying to put the blame on me.

"Attacked you?, you came at me" I cried out.

"Alicia, how many times, have I told you to call before coming?" Nathan asked.

"I did call, she wasn't answering my calls" she said.

"Ask your good for nothing girlfriend where she is coming from" she added.

Nathan turned to look at me, "where are you coming from?" He asked.

"I went to a party with Steph last night, I slept over at her side, that's why I am coming in now" I said to him.

"And that's why a guy drove you back" Alicia said as she scoffs.

"That's Steph friend, he was just giving me a lift" I said defensively.

"Okay, that's enough Alicia" Nathan said.

"One day you'd see the reason I don't want you to date her, and I would say it to your face that I told you so" she said angrily "I can't believe you had take a strangers side against your own sister,I thought it was us against the world?, I miss Mom so much, she would have known what to say or do in this situation" she said as she grabbed her bag to leave.

Nathan grabbed her hands "Alicia….."

"Don't, don't ever call me, until you have made it clear you have nothing to do with her, otherwise, we are strangers" she said yanking her hands as she stormed out if the house leaving behind a loud bang.

"What party did you go to, that made you to have been ignoring my calls?" He asked.

My heart beat fast, I didn't get any call on my phone, someone must have gone through my phone last night

"I..i..i don't… " I stammered not knowing what to say.

"You don't what?" Nathan yelled at me, making me cower in fear.

"You and I need to have a talk" he said as he walked towards the bedroom.
