LOGINApril's POV
I hacked into Alex's Internet and I continued to do my report. Time passed with me lost in writing the report. My stomach roaring made me realise I was very hungry. I stood and walked to the kitchen hoping to find something to eat, anything. It was at night already and I had completely forgotten about dinner but it was normal for me to forget to eat. I did not think Alex would be okay with me getting in his kitchen to eat something because apparently he did not like 'sharing' but I was hungry. He was so ridiculous. Opening his fridge, I sighed. It had nothing interesting to eat. His kitchen cabinets had cereal only and it sucked. What did he usually eat? Just cereals? I walked out of the kitchen angrily and went to the bedroom and picked a coat ready to go look for food or just snacks. I was very hungry I did not think I could sleep or concentrate on anything. I found myself walking aimlessly looking for a convenience store or just a diner. It was ten o'clock, most diners had to have been open or about to close. The roads and streets were full of people. It had to be because it was Friday. There was a thing that no one spent Friday nights in. Everyone was at some party drinking themselves to stupid. College parties were like life or death for most College students. They were a must to attend. "April?"I heard my name being called out from a distance and I frowned. I stopped walking and turned to see who was calling me. I saw Marcus's Audi driving slowly towards me. It stopped next to where I stood. It was Marcus. What was he doing in the streets? Wasn't he supposed to be at his party? "Why are you walking alone?"he asked me leaning his arm on the car door. He rested his chin on his arm then he stared at me with a smug expression on his face. Seeing him made me angry. I had a few reasons why I was angry at him. I wrapped my arms around my chest and leaned my standing position in my right leg. "I don't know Marcus. Maybe because I have not yet found a place to sleep because I decided to trust your ass."I angrily told him. Marcus chuckled and I scoffed at him unbelievably. He thought what I said was funny? " I know you are not sleeping outside. There is no way Alex would let you sleep outside. He can be mean but deep down his dark heart, he has some compassion."Marcus stated. I rolled my eyes at the ridiculous claim. "Some compassion? I doubt that. Your friend is a sociopath."I paused to think. "Actually he is a psychopath and there is no way sociopaths have compassion. He is so annoying and if I had a choice I would not have to spend my night there. He is the worst human being to exist. I cannot wait for this night to end and never see his rude ass ever again."I complained about my anger fuelling when I recalled how annoying Alex was. Marcus burst out laughing and he was annoying me too. What did he find funny? He shook his head as his laughter died down then he turned his head to his side. I looked at him suspiciously. I felt it in my stomach that there was another presence in the car with him. Marcus leaned back in his driver's seat and there he was. Alex Gray sat in the passenger seat seeming unbothered. Marcus's earlier position was blocking my view of him. I glared at Marcus. Why did he let me badmouth Alex when he was aware that he was listening? I felt so stupid and played. Marcus kept playing with me and it was absurd how I always ended up not knowing anything about him playing with me. "I hate you Marcus." I mouthed and Marcus just shrugged. I waited for Alex to say something but he did not say anything. I creased my eyebrows wondering why he was not saying anything but I was happy at his silence at the same time. Marcus rolled his eyes after he looked between me and Alex. Then he sighed resting his gaze on me. "What are you doing outside? You are not the type to be out on a Friday night."he asked me. I sassily smirked. " Oh yeah? You think you know so much about me?"I asked him. "I mean, aren't you nerds always the same and predictable?"Marcus asked. I snorted dramatically. " Sorry to burst your bubble but you know nothing about me. I could be going to see my sugar daddy."I shrugged feigning ignorance. I heard a snicker and not from Marcus but from Alex. I looked at him curiously. " You disagree stingy guy?"I asked him. He looked at me with his unreadable expression. "I just don't see it. Girls like you who study on Friday nights can never have the guts to do something like that."He mocked me. He was using my actions of studying against me right now? "You would be surprised how much guts......" "Can we go?" Alex interrupted me. "This is lame. She is lame and not worth our time."he told Marcus. Marcus shook his head. "I owe her man. Let us give her a ride to where she is going."Marcus told Alex back then he looked at me. " Get in April. I will drive you to where you are going."he said pointing at the back seat with his chin. "I am not going anywhere far. I am just looking for a place where I can go eat or buy some snacks."I said and I saw Marcus smile. "Even better. Get in."he insisted but I got hesitant. "We are going to the store too coincidentally."he explained upon seeing my hesitation. "Aren't you going to the party?"I was confused. Marcus waved me off. " It was rescheduled to tomorrow. Something came up."he told me and I glared at him with a newfound anger. He made me give up on my search for a new roommate because of the party that was going to be rescheduled? "You are paying for my snacks if I accompany you. You at least owe me that."I sternly informed Marcus. "Whatever you want April. I owe you more than just snacks." I glared at him before I opened the door and got in his car.APRIL'S POV I looked at Alex waiting for an explanation. What did he mean by what he said? "How do you know my family?"I asked when I got tired of waiting for Alex to take the hint and explain on his own accord.Alex stared at me. "Get your stuff June and leave. I don't even know why I am speaking to you in the first place."He told me coldly then the next moment he stood up straight and walked away. I jumped at the sound of the door banging. He went to his room.I sighed and I bent down near my suitcases. A few minutes later I was done packing and I was pushing my suitcases down the hall to the sitting room where I assumed Landon was. He was looking, no...surveying around the sitting room like a person who was hoping to find something he lost."What are you doing?"I cleared my throat before asking to gain his attention. He turned to look at me acting like he was not snooping a second ago."Are you done?" He asked looking at my suitcases."Do you know snooping is considered creepy?"I
April's POV "What are you doing here?"Alex coldly asked Landon. This was getting weird. I stepped away from where I was standing behind Landon and I stood next to him."What is going on?"I asked Landon out of curiosity."How rude was this asshole to you?"Landon asked getting so serious I was actually getting scared.I blinked confused then I glanced at Alex. I wanted to see his expression and he was as unreadable as always. "He was not rude at all."I told Landon shaking my head a little bit more vigorous than I intended."She is lying. I was the worst person she has probably met."Alex said and I narrowed my eyes at him. Why would he say that? It was true anyways but...why would he say that? Couldn't he read the air? My brother was not about to laugh with him. He made that clear with his dangerous tone.I looked at Landon shaking my head again but it was too late. He had already swung his fist and hit Alex's perfect jaw. I think I heard a crack sound as a result. I was not sure from
April's POV " Woah, who is that?" Maddy gasped grabbing attention of everyone in the group to look at who she was referring. My face instantly lit up. My brother stood against his car that was parked at the lone spot in the parking lot. He had sunglasses on. "And what car is that?"Maddy added as we walked further into the parking lot."That car is worth millions. As rich as my family is we cannot afford it as easily."Marcus commented and I looked at my brother's car. I had not noticed the type of car he came with. I instantly got annoyed that he chose to come with a flashy car. He knew I hated attention and he came with a car that screamed attention."P....why are you just standing there? Come here and give me a hug." Landon said and everyone looked at me with with questioning gazes. I forced a smile. "That is my brother Landon."I told them and I heard one or two gasps."Are you serious?" Maverick asked looking me up and down. That was weird right?Just when I was about to answer, I
April's POV The game continued for a while and more drinking games were introduced. People got so drunk except for Alex and I. I avoided anything that would make me drunk. When I had no choice but drink, Marcus would secretly drink for me. I guess he knew I did not drink. For some reason, Alex drunk as much as everyone but he did not get drunk. Now it was morning. I slowly opened my eyes letting my eyes adjust to the sudden light that welcomed my eyes. I had a foggy recollection of how and when I fell asleep but judging from the familiar decor of Marcus's sitting room, I was sure I was at Marcus's place. I sat up from my sleeping position apparently on the couch and I looked around hoping to see anyone. You know, Marcus's friends."Look who is up?"a cheerful familiar voice sounded in the room. It was Olivia. I turned to see her walking towards me. I was at the moment bothered that I was the only one on the couch. I cleared my voice to avoid it from coming hoarse because of my sleep.
April's POV Oh no!!I was not liking what was going on at the moment. I was not the person to be dramatic or start any drama but I could sense drama brewing. I was what? Two minutes around people and they were already causing drama."Why would you take the snack if it is not yours?" Marcus asked and I secretly pinched him to stop him from escalating the situation."You are right Maddy. It is just a snack. You can have it."I decided to speak hoping that was a good signal to show everyone that I was fine. But the truth was, I was not okay deep down. I wanted to be away from everyone there. There was an awkward silence around the room and I wondered what I was supposed to do. So I awkwardly sat down."Okay, can we get back to the game?" Leo cheerfully said saving the situation. I took a relieved breath when everyone agreed with him. I forced a small smile on my lips. Then I felt a stare boring through me. I looked at Alex who was the source of the stare. I stared back at him without sa
April's POV "I'm back."Marcus announced once we reached his apartment. Everyone turned their head excitedly to look at him until they spotted me next to him and their faces dropped and were suddenly filled with confusion. Everyone except Alex. He did not even look at Marcus when he told everyone he was back. His attention was deeply buried in his phone.Marcus noticed everyone's silence and smiled. He dropped the bags of snacks in his hands on the floor. Later, he grabbed the bag of snacks in my hand and dropped it to where he dropped the rest. Then he placed his hand on my shoulders and he pushed me forward gently. "Everyone, this is April. She's in my class."he told everyone who was just staring at me. I just smiled like a fool while they stared at me. I hated every single second they did. It was very embarrassing."So, April this is everyone." Marcus said then he pointed at a guy who was at the far end of the couch. He had a girl on his lap. The guy had a few strands of his hair d
