Chapter 12

The arrogant teenage boys and girls in front of her who stood up and protested injustice on Clara’s behalf were actually the participants who were depicted in the video.

This was something that they could not deny!

Flora was the first to stand forward and ask, “So what? You pushed Clara first. It’s appropriate for us to punish you!”

“You don't have the right to punish me regardless of whether I’m guilty or not. However, do you guys know what happens when you commit the crime of intentional homicide?” Sienna said slowly, “According to Article 232 of the Criminal Law, intentional homicide is punishable by death, life imprisonment, or more than ten years of fixed-term imprisonment!

“If the circumstances are relatively minor, the sentence shall be a fixed-term imprisonment of more than three years and less than ten years.”

The faces of the crowd of people grew paler with each word she spoke.

Even the most courageous people would show fear once criminal law was really involved, especially in cases like this, where there was concrete evidence.

Flora also could not help but shudder a little as well. She was the one who had pushed Sienna into the water the night before, but so what? The law was violated by many and was unenforced. She was not the only one involved!

“Sienna, don’t make up the law to intimidate us. What can you do to me if I refuse to admit what I did in the video?” Flora sneered, “Besides, you’re also standing here unharmed!”

“Are you implying that you did not commit a crime as long as I am standing here unharmed, then?” Sienna grinned slowly, but the smile did not reach her eyes at all. “This is a useless defense. You'd better save it for when you’re talking to the police.”

The police?

Had she called the police?

The expression on everyone’s faces changed.

Even Clara did not anticipate Sienna’s audacity!

There were many children from affluent families with distinguished backgrounds in this school. Thus, she would be making a big deal out of the incident if she called the police! What good would it do her to offend those people?

“Sienna…” Clara stepped forward with tears in her eyes as she spoke in a humble manner, “I know that you’re angry and that you despise me. You can just get back at me, but please don’t make things difficult for them. Please, Sienna!”

Clara finished her sentence and dropped to her knees without waiting for Sienna's response. She sobbed, “I beg you. I’ll grovel before you. Please be gracious and don’t make things difficult for them…”

When Clara kneeled, the boys beside her suddenly burst into a fit of rage.

“Clara, why are you begging her? Let her sue us if she has the capability to do so. I am interested in finding out which side the law is on!”

“That's right! Clara, get up. I don’t believe that the law will be able to do anything to us based on her words!” The girls helped Clara up promptly. All of them detested Sienna’s bullying.

Flora was still panicking a little earlier, but when she saw Clara kneeling in order to protect them, she was quite moved. She suddenly became irate and raised her voice. “Let her sue! I want to see who would dare to touch me!”

Flora was the one with the strongest status and background in the class.

The Lennon family was wealthy and influential, and their family had much more strength compared to the Langs.

Sienna definitely would not be able to get any favors if she were to go against the Lennon family!

Everyone seemed to have found comfort with Flora’s words; they all straightened their backs and stood upright.

Sienna smiled.

It was Clara’s usual tactic to act vulnerable.

Even if it was Clara who was fanning the flames behind the scene and using these people as her weapon, when the incident happened, she would just say a few words and pretend to kneel to make these people defend her all the way to the end.

She was truly cunning!

The original owner was a young girl who had little experience in the world. She did not argue and had a weak character. How was she supposed to fight against someone like that?

Sienna shook her head.

Four police officers arrived outside the classroom at this time.

“Who is Sienna Lang?”

“I am.”

Sienna got up.

When she was waiting by the roadside for a taxi prior to coming to school, Sienna had already called the police and provided them with the surveillance footage from the night of the incident. She was accusing all those who caused her to drown that night of the crime of attempted murder!

None of these individuals would be able to escape justice's lengthy arms!

“We have received your report. It so happens that all the participants are all here, so all of them can just come with us,” The police officer said as he took out the list of names provided by Sienna when he reported the case and read it according to the list. It just so happened to be the names of the individuals present at the time.

It was not until the moment when they were really about to be brought into the police station that everyone started feeling a little afraid.

“Officer, did we commit any crimes?”

“You should be fully aware of whether you have committed any crime or not. Don’t you know what you’ve done?” The police officer who read the list said, “If the circumstances for intentional homicide are serious, it is punishable by the death penalty, life imprisonment, or fixed-term imprisonment of more than three years and less than ten years.

"Now, you're under suspicion for attempted murder. Don’t stand there. All of you should come with us!”

The crowd had a terrible expression on their faces when the police officer made this comment, and they were on the verge of crying.

If they were found guilty of this crime, wouldn’t their future be ruined, and wouldn’t that be the end of their lives?

Everyone fixed their gazes on Flora, who was taken aback by the sight and said without scruples, “Let’s go. I don't believe you can lock me up if I did not do anything.”

That was right. Clara already informed them that she had asked Quentin for his help to destroy all the hotel surveillance footage last night in order to prevent any future problems.

Now, there was no original surveillance footage from the hotel. Nothing would happen as long as they did not acknowledge the copy of the surveillance footage in Sienna’s hands!

As everyone thought of this, they looked at Clara. Thankfully, she had considered everything.

The police then left the school with nine people, including Sienna, and headed to the police station.

The scene attracted the attention of the whole school, and even the school’s top management representative was alarmed and ran out to ask about the situation.

His face suddenly turned red with rage when he realized that Sienna was the cause of this incident.

Why was it because of this troublemaker again?!

When they saw the students being taken away, the school’s representative was so anxious and alarmed that they could only yell at the head of the department, “Contact these students’ parents, especially the Lennon family. We have to hurry and get them to go to the police station to pick up their children!”

Three police cars sped off.

Clara stood still where she was. She was not on the list to be taken away for interrogation as she was not a direct participant in the incident.

But even so, she was a little apprehensive, and she had a persistent feeling that things were going to get out of control.

After giving it some thought, Clara contacted Keegan as she cried and said, “Dad, Sienna got into trouble again. She called the police and asked the them to take away our classmates. One of them is the daughter from the Lennon family, with whom you previously stated that you wished to discuss a significant partnership!”

At the police station, Sienna was brought in alone to record her statement.

She gave a thorough account of what happened that night and provided the hospital’s diagnosis report, which stated that she was sent into the hospital to be resuscitated and narrowly missed being rescued.

It was reported that she had drowned.

The police officer who took the statement finished documenting it.

Sienna got up, said her thanks politely, and then walked out of the statement room.

But as soon as she walked out the door, she felt a gust of wind blowing in front of her, followed by a burning pain coming from her face.
