The Ride

When we were on water for about 25 minutes I shook awake Raven and Bella.

“We need to go to the box that says Hay For Farms then we can sleep until morning” I say in a whisper. They all nod. Slowly and carefully I make my way out of the box. I left the sheepskin cause it has to stay in the box of clothing. Once I was out of the box I crouch down and wait for the rest of my crew. Slowly one by one they get out. Once they were all out I tiptoe to the box that says Hay For Farms and get in.

“Is everyone ok??” Tony asks as soon as we were all in. We all nod our heads. “I’ll take first watch.” he says after. We all nod again. Raven and Bella go right to sleep. Leo goes up and gives Tony a fist bump the retires to go to sleep. He must’ve thought I’ve gone to sleep because when I shifted he looked up quick.

“Tonia you need to go to sleep. You can’t stay up all night” he said relieved it was me not anyone else.

“I can’t sleep. I usually can’t sleep when I doing something this exciting.” I reply. He looks skeptical.

“If you expect to be able to have the strength to walk in the morning you’re going to need sleep.” he says demandingly.

“Ok so. Anyways, why did you come with Raven, Bella, and I back at the palace. And don’t even think about saying it was because I threatened you. I dare say it was something other than that.” I ask. He looks at me surprised, then his expression becomes guarded.

“If you must know I need to protect the royal family. It is my duty.” He replies.

“I extremely doubt that” I say raising my eyebrows.

“Fine. Ever since I saw you when I was 6 I liked you. Seeing that I could protect you was what I wanted to do. Then when I finally got the chance I saw that you snuck off. Leo and I followed you until it was remotely deserted to talk to you. Then when I heard that you were going off the island to look for a suitor I couldn’t bear the pain. Leo didn’t want to agree at first but he knew why I wanted to go. So he let me say yes. The least I can do now is protect you. I just wish I was royal so I could be one of your suitors.” he explained. That was honestly a blow to my stomach. He liked me. I could say he was kinda cute but I couldn’t marry him, he wasn’t royal and my dad wouldn’t allow me to do so.

“I am so sorry. Maybe you should get to know Raven, I bet you’ll like her alot.” I say sadly. He looks at me with sorrow nodding his head. He goes back to watching. Finally I snuggle down in the hay. Finally I fall asleep.

I wake up suddenly in a forest with the sun shining bright.

“Hey your awake Tonia!! You were right; we should’ve let you go to mainland. We are so proud that you are engaged to the prince of-!!” I look around and see my dad talking to Leo. Leo comes toward me with a smile. He kisses my cheek. I look at him in surprise.

“Do you want your wedding present early. I know you hate waiting especially when it’s two weeks away.” he whispers quietly in my ear. I look around in surprise. Raven’s smiling with Bella and they both give me a thumbs up. Raven mouths ‘I knew you and Leo would make a perfect couple!!!’. Bella nods in agreement. Then my eyes fall on Tony. He looks at me with pure disgust, jealousy, and anger. Leo leaves to talk to my parents. Tony walks up to me,

“You knew I was a prince to, Why didn’t you pick me to be your husband. I should’ve known you’d just use me to get closer to Leo so you guys could fall in love, get married, and have beautiful children.” he bitterly said. I felt even more confused.

“I’m getting married?”

“Yes idiot you are! And know I am going to have to kill you so Leo can’t have you!” Tony said in a whisper. He starts to draw out his sword then all of a sudden it goes through me. I scream loudly.

I woke with a start. Raven was on watch now but Tony was still awake.

“Tonia, Are you ok?? You were sleeping fine until 10 minutes ago then you started tossing and turning. You let out a moan then woke quickly.” Raven asked, quite concerned.

“Just a nightmare. Nothing much.”I reply. Tony looks at me concerned also.“I’ll take watch with Raven if that’s ok with you Tony.” I add after. He nods, and goes to sleep.

“What actually happened Tonia??” Raven demands.

“So Tony earlier confessed to me that he likes me. I said ok and said get to Raven, I bet you’ll like her. But in the dream him and Leo were both princes and I was getting married to Leo. He didn’t like it so he killed me. Then I woke up.” I explain. Raven looks like she’d been clonked on the head with a wooden club.

“That’s very bad!!” Raven says.

“What is bad?” I ask Raven wanting to know what's wrong.

“Before we go looking for your suiter today,we need to go to a peasant's house. I used to live here. I know where it is. I got deported to your kingdom cause I had no choice. If I am correct I think this is why your parents didn’t want you to leave Astora.” I nod ok.

“Change of plans then….. Deal!” I say.
