Chapter 14

Rozelynn POV

I dropped Selah off at school and came home to change this morning before going to the restaurant to finish the calls I’d started yesterday. Ryleigh was waiting for me when I walked into the kitchen, wanting to know what had happened between Remi and I last night. I told her about his statement, and how that had made me feel, but told her how I woke up with a sense of defiance towards him. She laughed and wondered if I was feeling stronger because of Nick’s presence. Honestly, I wasn’t sure why I was feeling this way and told her as much. I needed to get to the bottom of these feelings though, so I was grateful that I had an appointment with my psychologist this afternoon.

Ryleigh and I talked as I got dressed and came to the conclusion that Nick showing up here wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, after all, a lot of the mental health issues I was still dealing with stemmed from the regret and guilt I had over our marriage and not telling him about Selah.
