I winced as the whip came down on the man’s back. It felt like Dela was hitting me, not him. I closed my eyes and gulped down the choking sound that almost left my throat.

The man groaned and kicked, but nothing stopped Dela. She was insane. She was hitting him like a crazy woman, not caring where the whip hit. The sound was agonizing to hear. The man did not scream. It was like he was used to the pain.

I could not imagine being hit like this. But this almost became my fate too. If only Demian did not want to marry me, I would have been the slave of Kiara and would have been treated like this if not worse.

I had no idea how long we spent there. The smell of grime, sweat and blood became almost familiar to me. However, I could not get used to the smell of decaying flesh. That was too strong and disgusting.

I swallowed the bile that filled my mouth.

When we left the dungeon, my hands were trembling. It was worse than anything I had imagined. I had guessed there must be a place for tortu

It was not like anyone other than the owner of the brothel knew about my identity. I wore a veil all the time. That made the men even more excited. When you could not see something even though it was right in front of you, you were automatically intrigued. That was the case with the men.And I adored the attention. I craved it.When Demian touched me, I could finally the feel the real excitement. It was even better than dancing. After spending some time with Theodore, I took my leave. He walked me to his door. I could perfectly see his limp. It was bad.“We can do it sometimes,” he said. “If you want to, of course. I enjoyed our talk. Whenever you feel lonely, you can come here and we can talk again.”I nodded. “I will do that. Thanks for the tea, Theodore.”“You are welcome. I should be the one thanking you. I rarely have company here. You are more than welcome to come here.”If my judgment was not wrong, Theodore was a good man. He had a good heart. Or perhaps, it was just an act. Y

I felt someone touching my cheek. I opened my eyes and sat up so quickly that I got a headache.“Demian!”“Shit! You screamed like I was another man, not your own husband,” he said and smirked. “Did I scare you?”“Don’t do that,” I said.“I’m thirsty, Sully darling,” he said. He had splatters of blood on his face. I used the sleeve of my nightgown to wipe the blood off his face.“You can drink my blood,” I whispered.“Are you seducing me?” he groaned and took hold of me by the waist. He pulled me towards him and pressed his lips on mine. Was I trying to seduce him? Probably. I wanted him to hold me. I wanted his fangs to pierce my flesh. The feeling was addictive. And I got addicted pretty quickly. He moved his lips against mine slowly, yet with an urgency that he was trying to suppress.“Tell me truthfully, darling,” he said in a rough voice as his lips left mine. “Have you truly never done this with someone before?”I shook my head. “Why would I lie?”“Why? Because you hate me and m

Sully did not seem like a bold one to me. Not at first, at least. But then, I saw the way she talked, the way she sometimes stared at everything and everyone- when she dropped the act, she was a different woman. A woman who was brave. A woman who could make a hard choice in the blink of an eye. A woman who pretended to be weak.Even Sully most probably did not know she was putting up an act. It must come naturally to her. Because when she looked meek and innocent, I was tempted to believe her. When Sully walked, I noticed she walked with a certain sway. Noble women did not walk like that. But Sully walked like she owned the place, like she knew she had the power to make men go crazy for her.It was a small suspicion. However, I still looked into the matter.I was shocked when I found out what my wife used to do. She never lay with any of those men, but she danced for them. She was a feast for their lustful eyes.I was amused. Honestly, for such a noble woman of House Star, Sully was s

Rose wore a white dress with a pearl necklace. Her hair was combed smoothly. They were long and straight, unlike my curly hair. When I was a child, I wanted straight hair like my father’s and Selina’s, my younger sister. Sierra and I looked like our mother. Curly hair and brown skin. Selina was more like our father. Kyle and Jace were a mixture of Mother and Father.Rose sipped her tea and looked at me. She had a cold aura about herself like all her family members, except for Rosalia and Theodore.“I do like your name. Sully. What does it mean?” Rose asked. It was not something I expected her to start the conversation with.“It means making something dirty,” I said, blushing. “When I was very little, I used to throw my small toys or whatever I could get my hands on. That’s why my father named me Sully.”In House Star, children were named after six months of being born. It was because to see their personality and then name them. I found it rather silly. I got a stupid name because of t

“I heard you had a brother. A twin brother,” Sully said, sitting on the windowsill where I usually sat to smoke. Her long dark hair was spread free on her back.I did not have to ask her who told her this. It was obviously Rose.“Do you want to know what happened to him, Sully?” I asked. She nodded. “Rose said he lost. She said you two were give some tasks and one of you survived.”“Tasks? We were told to go against each other and fight till one of us is standing,” I said. Sully’s eyes widened. “It’s obvious now, isn’t it, Sully darling? I killed him. That’s how I survived. That’s how I won and got this name.”Sully clapped a hand over her mouth. “I didn’t think…”“That I killed him? Well, that’s the truth.”I had not thought of my brother in a long while. Actually, it had been years since he came to my mind.We were not allowed to call each other by anything. We did not have names. But we secretly had names for each other. He was Sun and I was Shine. Together, we were ‘sunshine’. It

House Silverclaw did not discriminate between men and women unlike House Star and House Thorn. In House Silverclaw, the first-born was the heir, while in House Star and House Thorn, it was the first-born son who was the heir.If House Star was like House Silverclaw, Sierra would be the heir. She would have rejected the position because she was never fond of such things, then I would be the heir. But it never happened.Kyle was the heir because he was a male. And I hated him for it. I resented him. I did not tell Rose the whole truth. I would have gotten the chance to get close to Kyle if I wanted to, but I never did. I secretly resented him. He was not cut out to be a Head.I could not say I was the best person for the position of the Head, but at least, I was better than him. I was not a drunk. I was not a perverted sick bastard.Today was the seventh day I was here. Demian had not been home since the night we talked about his brother. He came back just a while ago.He waited for me

I threw up as soon as I came back to our chamber. I emptied my stomach in the toilet.I could still see those deep dark eyes of the deer. They felt so alive. The head was staring at me the whole time. I had eaten in disgust and fear.Demian stood at the bathroom doorway with his arms crossed.“Did you hate it that much?” he asked.“Hate what?” I barked. “The fact that your father probably killed one of my brothers and wants me to see a dead body, or the fact that I had to eat a deer with a much alive-looking face?!”“That wasn’t alive,” he stated calmly. “Is it because you had a deer as a child?”I widened my eyes. I had no idea why it still surprised me when I found out he knew more about me than I could imagine.I did have a deer when I was seven. Father went hunting once and brought back five deer. I begged to have one of them. The tiniest one. Father agreed.Selina and I cared for the deer together. The deer grew up with us. We called her Ladybug. Three years later, Father found o

The dungeon felt as cold and disgusting as before. The smell seemed to be worse than before. I tried to suppress my gag reflexes.Alexander led the way as I and Damien walked behind him. Rose came as well. She was walking beside Alexander, telling him about whatever word she had been doing.“I can make him mine. He will give up all the information in no time,” Rose was saying. “He cannot suppress his desire for a woman. That will be his downfall.”“How about Rezef? Have you tried it with him?” Alexander asked.“I will. Please give me some time, Father. After I am done with Killian, I will focus on Rezef Thorn.”What did they plan to do with Rezef? One of the things Silverclaw woman learned was seduction. I knew about it from Mother. Silverclaw women knew how to seduce a man effectively, so they would even get on their knees to beg for their attention. In House Star, it was considered a sin to even think about such things. We, women, were not to even be friends with a man other than ou

I was suspicious regarding Demian’s actions. He was acting very sweet to me as if nothing happened. I knew he was still angry about what I did, although he did not show it.Now, he said he would meet Rezef Thorn. Rezef sent Demian a letter via Leo and wanted to talk to him, not as enemies, but as normal men. And Demian agreed.“You will not hurt him, will you?” I asked Demian.“Why would I hurt him?” Demian asked, tilting his head to one side. He was not being serious; it was one of those rarest times. I did not know what to make of that. Would he truly not hurt Rezef or not?“Demian, please. Be serious,” I said.“I never thought I would hear someone say that to me.”“I never thought I would have to say this to you either. But here we are.”Demian started combing his hair.“Give me that,” I said, taking the comb from him. Demian sat on a stool and I started combing his hair. “I don’t understand what you are doing. First, you are being very nice to me.”“Is it wrong to be nice to my ow

Leo had stayed with Rezef to make sure he was safe. Demian had put Rezef somewhere else while Leo and I were doing our work in the tent. We had to do our work a little quicker because of the fire.Kyle also died too quickly. He died before we could have our fun fully.I watched as Demian washed the blood of my body. He worked methodically. Now he was scrabbing my arm. His eyes were focused even though the task was a simple one.“Are you angry at me?” I asked.“I don’t like anyone defying me,” Demian said. “I don’t like when someone does the exact opposite thing of what I told them. I also don’t like it when my plan does not go properly.”“Plan?”“Everything is a plan. I determine everything beforehand. You being in that tower was a plan as well. I do not do anything without a plan,” he said. “You got my men killed.”“A few of them. It was inevitable, Demian. A war is going on,” I said. “But you also thought of this possibility, didn’t you?”His silver eyes met mine.Demian thought of

Cutting off my brother’s penis had not been on my mind when I was little. But after what happened to Maxi, it was obvious that I had to do it.I looked down at my blood-stained dress. The room where Demian and I were staying was small, but clean. Cleanliness was first thing; the size did not matter. After Leo and I were done, Demian brought me here and I followed without a word of defiance. Why would I defy him? He had not stopped me from doing what I wanted to do. Well, he had chained me before. But when he found out I escaped, he actually aided me.“You have many things to answer for,” Demian said upon entering the room. He had went out to do something (I did not know what).“I know,” I murmured.I turned to face him. His arms were crossed over his chest. His hair was tied loosely on the behind.“You want to know how I managed to let Rezef know about where I was?” I asked.“If you know what I want to know, then tell me,” he said.“Well… You see, Rezef used to give me a lot of gifts

I had been imagining this for so long. I had imagined doing so many things when I would meet Kyle again under the circumstances when I could finally take my revenge.Kyle was inside the tent, his men said. They stopped short when they noticed me. Well, they had not seen me in a while. A little surprise was bound to show on their faces.“Is anyone else inside?” I asked.“Yes. It is an alchemist. His name is…”“Leo,” I said. “I know him. Tell Kyle that I want to talk to him. The alchemist can stay though.”My brother’s personal guard bowed to me and went inside the tent. I knew that man. His name was Ezra Walsh. He had been my brother’s personal guard for the last five years. He was bald and tough looking with a scar on his right eye. I had the suspicion that he was blind in that eye, but never knew the truth.“What do you want to talk about with him?” Rezef asked.“Many things. Do you want to see?” I asked.“If you want me to.”“No, it depends on you. You can watch if you want to. But

There were no ships here. Not a single one. I could not even take a carriage either. The roads were blocked.I was out of the estate of House Star, at least. Currently, I was staying at a brothel. I gave some money and some of my pieces of jewelry to the brothel owner and she gave me a place to stay.It was nasty here and I felt disgusted the whole time, but at least, it was safe. Not for long though. At some point, the brothel owner might want to sell me to his nasty customers. I needed to leave soon.I did not know what was going on with the war. I could not care less about that. What I hated about it was the fact that I could not stay at House Star anymore, if there remained a House Star after this in the first place.I hated everything and everyone now at this point. I did not deserve this. I did not deserve any of this.I did not want to born in that family where I had to do things that I did not want to do. I had to learn how to seduce people at a very young age. It was called t

Sully escaped. Once again. I did not know exactly how she let Rezef Thorn know about her location, but she did do it somehow and that was without my knowledge. That woman was too cunning. She even fooled me.I was pretty sure she was going to use Rezef Thorn to get to Kyle.I had been gone for a long time because of a complication. I needed to defend the estate because part of Jade Star’s men somehow got inside the estate. It had been bloody. My left eye still hurt. There was a cut right under it. One of the men of House Star almost took my eye out.And now Sully was gone. This woman was driving me crazy in all the ways possible. She was now at the camp of Rezef Star. I could not just go there. It was hard to sneak in there. I could get as near as possible, but it would be hard to meet her there.I did not doubt Sully’s loyalty. It lay with me. She did not care about Rezef Thorn romantically. She was just using him to gain her objective.I just hated that she escaped from me again aft

“How is Millie?” I asked.Rezef was mostly ignoring me at this point. Well, at least, he was pretending to.“She is okay.”“Treat her nicely, okay? She is a nice girl,” I said. “Do you know Father used to beat her?”Rezef’s face suggested that he had no idea of this incident. Millie did not tell him for sure. It was not like I expected Millie to tell him either. Millie had always acted like she did not deserve anything and kept her thoughts to herself all the time.Their marriage life was not going okay. I knew that from the look on his face. Millie and he were not okay. If they just ended their marriage, then it would be for the best. At least, both of them could find someone new. It would be hard for Millie, but she would get over it. There was no point in suffering when you could get rid of that suffering. Both of them were unhappy in that marriage, I could tell.“Whenever Father was angry, he would take it out on her. My plan was simple. I always had the feeling that there was more to the little vacation than Demian let on. That was why- I started to leave trails behind. I kept the window open and threw purple pearls from the window. Demian did not notice because he had been busy trying to keep his legs from cramping and other times, he was massaging my feet.I had to be very cautious so he would not notice. Demian’s eyes were sharp. He noticed everything. That was why I had the feeling that this plan might not work. There were a lot of guessing involved. I was betting on Rezef’s feelings for me on this matter. He had to be the one to find the pearls because only he would recognize them. I had the belief that he was smart enough to know that I would not be at House Silverclaw.Rezef did not disappoint me.Now, I would have to explain everything to him, but that would have to wait for a bit.I told Rezef not to kill the guards that they took captive. We reached their camp on horses. But she now had a scar on her face. Did her husband did that? That bastard!I ran to her and wrapped my arms around her. I did not care about anything else. I needed to feel her. I needed to know she was real.My men were watching me, but I did not care. All I cared about was her at this moment.“Rezef,” she breathed. “I thought you wouldn’t find me.”“You left those signs for me to find. How could I not?” I said, pulling back from the hug. That was when I noticed what she was wearing. I averted my eyes from her barely covered body. She did not seem to feel any shame as she threw away the cover and got down from the bed. There was a cuff around her ankle attacked to a chain.“Can you do something about it?” she asked.I told all my men to get out. They did not need to see her like this for lo
