King Alexander Knight

The man in black gave a sinister smile when he saw that the man kept in the dark cell was dead. He looked like a devil, with his face and hands covered in blood, wearing a sinister smile. He then emerged from the dark cell into a dark alley. One of his subordinates handed him clean clothes to wipe away the blood from his face and hands.

He looked at his right-hand man, Leo, and ordered, "Send his body to his kingdom. He dared to plan an attack on my kingdom and defy me. From this incident, all the people should know who I am and what I can do when someone goes against me."

Leo bowed to King Alexander Knight and replied, "Yes, your royal highness. It will be done as per your orders. But, your royal highness, there is something very important we need to discuss. Albert is on his way to your royal highness's chamber, so I think we should head there."

Alexander nodded to Leo, and he, along with his subordinates, returned to the palace and headed to the king's chamber.

Albert and Leo were his right-hand and left-hand men, the most trusted individuals in his life. Although he wasn't emotionally attached to them, he appreciated their loyalty and dedication. Albert and Leo were orphans whom he had saved during his childhood, and he had taken them in, trained them, and made them his subordinates. Being his right-hand and left-hand men, they enjoyed many privileges in their lives.

After half an hour, they reached the king's chamber, where they found Albert waiting for them outside. When Alexander and Leo entered the chamber, all the guards and Albert bowed their heads and greeted Alexander with respect, saying, "Your royal highness."

Alexander simply ignored them and went inside his chamber. The guards and Albert didn't mind, as they were accustomed to their king's behavior. Albert and Leo exchanged nods and followed him inside the king's chamber.

Alexander sat at his study table, sipping wine, when Leo and Albert approached him. Leo and Albert bowed their heads and greeted him with, "Your royal highness." As usual, Alexander ignored their greetings and asked with a cold face, "Why did you insist on meeting me?"

Albert began, "Your royal highness, as per your orders, our troops have been sent to the border of country K, and we have established military bases around the border." Alexander, with a cold expression, simply nodded in response. He noticed that Albert seemed hesitant to say something and prompted, "I sense there's more you want to say..."

Albert nodded and continued, "Your royal highness, Queen Mother has arranged your marriage with Princess Victoria Herman of country K, and the wedding is scheduled for tomorrow."

Suddenly, the room fell into a heavy silence. Alexander angrily threw his wine glass and exclaimed, "How could she do that without even consulting me? I had requested the marriage to be arranged with the son of a minister!"

"I believe, as your royal highness's only relative and as the Queen Mother of Country A, I have every right to choose your Queen. Or do I not have the right to interfere in your personal life?" a majestic voice came from a lady standing at the entrance of the king's chamber. She was Meghan Knight, Alexander Knight's Aunt.

She was the sole sibling of Alexander Knight's father, Harry Knight. On Crown Prince Alexander Knight's sixteenth birthday, a grand banquet was held in the palace. Members of the royal family, noble families, and high-ranking officers were all invited. The banquet was splendid and joyous, but little did they know that it would end with the deaths of all the members of the royal family. Alexander was saved by his aunt Meghan Knight. Currently, Meghan Knight and Alexander Knight were the only surviving royals of Country A. Alexander loved and respected his aunt as his mother, so he had appointed her as the Queen Mother of Country A.

There is also a rumor and people are 99 % sure that during that masscare Alexander killed his all brothers so that he could be the King.

"No, Queen Mother, you have every right to make decisions in my life. I only wished that you had consulted me before arranging the marriage. Marriage is a significant matter, not to be taken lightly. It's crucial to choose a qualified Queen," Alexander replied and approached Queen Mother Meghan Knight. He took her hand and assisted her in walking to his chair, then sat across from her.

Meghan smiled at Alexander and said, "My dear Alex, I believe Princess Victoria Herman could be the best candidate to be your Queen. I know I arranged the marriage without informing you, but trust me, this decision will be for the best in the long run."

Alexander sighed and replied, "As you wish, Queen Mother." Meghan was delighted with Alexander's response. She looked at Albert and Leo and instructed them, "Albert, you will accompany the King to fetch his bride, and Leo, oversee the preparations in the palace."

With that, she bid farewell to the King and left for her chamber. After some time, Albert and Leo also took their leave and returned to their quarters.

Alexander stood by the window, sipping wine, lost in thought. He remembered his late mother, Queen Sofia Knight, whom he had loved dearly. He had always hoped to marry a woman like her. While Queen Mother Meghan Knight had sacrificed her life for him and assisted him in politics to ascend to the throne, she could never replace his late mother, Queen Sofia Knight.

"Your royal highness," Leo spoke up, breaking Alexander's reverie. "Is there anything else you'd like us to do?"

Alexander looked at his loyal subordinates and replied, "No, that will be all for now." Albert and Leo bowed respectfully and left the King to his thoughts.

Alexander continued to stand by the window, contemplating the future that lay ahead of him.
