The next morning, I woke up alone in bed.

The previous night, after Prince Barlion had went to sleep, I had moved one of the chair closer to the bed. I had sat on the chair and leaned my head on my forearms, which were supported by the edge of the bed right next to Prince Barlion's hand.

So it didn't make sense that I woke up in the bed, under the covers, next to the spot where Prince Barlion was suppose to be sleeping.

When I looked around the chamber, I didn't spot him. Remembering how hurt he had been the previous day, I got worried.

Quickly tearing the cover off my body, I climbed out of the bed and rushed to the bathroom without even putting on my shoes.

Opening the bathroom doo, I looked inside to find it empty.

Taking in a deep breath, I rushed out of the bathroom and made my way to his study. Pushing open the study door, I called out his name.

I had expected to see him struggling with his wound like I had found him the previous day. But instead, I saw him sitting behind his
