LOGIN—ALORA EUNICE’S POV—
Raña cleared her throat, composed herself, and entered the room without hesitation. She sat at the single sofa facing us, crossed her legs so as her arms on her chest.
“I am okay, Raña,” Archi sighed, sounding like he wanted his sister to leave us alone.
She slightly squinted her eyes before diverting her attention to me and rolled her eyes.
“You’re pale,” she said, so I looked at Archi too. She’s right, he’s pale and looks a bit physically weak.
“Still recovering. Don’t make it a big deal,” he said, wanting to say more.&n

Maybe, they haven’t heard about my marriage, that's why they’re too surprised to know that I am married. “What? We thought you two… anyway, congrats, Alora!” One of them said to me,“Who’s the lucky guy then?”“Rome De Herrera,” I casually said and the crowd fell into a moment of silence. “Wow…”“How…”“That’s… I am working in one of their companies.” Then for a few minutes, I am the center of the talk. They had so many questions about my wedding, personal life that I barely answered because I want to be somehow private.“So… when do you plan on having a baby?” One of them excitedly asked. I was speechless for a second, as if the forgotten dagger pierced in me was felt at that moment. I looked around and they were waiting for my response. Thankfully, Simon—the birthday celebrant—appeared and broke the silence. The topic changes. I went to Oliver and w
—ALORA EUNICE’S POV—“I will go with you,” Archi said for the nth time but I stopped him. He’s too stubborn.I am going on a three-day business trip and he insisted on tagging along despite his busy schedule. We had a long debate before I convinced him not to come. I already made a lot of inconveniences on him the past weeks and I don’t want to add more to that.“Take care,” Archi said before kissing me and bid me a goodbye. I just got my plane seat when someone sat beside me. I was taken aback when a familiar face appeared in the sight.“Oh… what a coincidence,” Oliver said, a little bit helpless because his right arm was in an arm sling. “Hi, Alora.” “Oliver,” I looked at the wound where my attacker cut him. “You… haven’t recovered yet?” I asked, a little worried because I know that he got it because he tried to protect me. It’s my fault.“It’s kind of deep and it heals slower than an ordinary cut,” he groaned when he accidentally hit it somewhere.“I’m sorry. It’s my fault–”“Don’
—ALORA EUNICE’S POV—I don’t know what to feel at the moment. As if my whole body went cold. I know… I already accepted the fact that Archi doesn’t want a child but who would have thought that this will happen and there is not really a chance for me to have one. I took a day off from work and cried myself out inside our bathroom. I spent hours under the warm water of our bathtub—hugging my knees, sometimes holding my flat tummy. Tears kept falling until I got tired of crying. After hours of sulking inside the bathroom, I wore a bathrobe in front of a mirror. I looked closely at my face and looked at my puffy reddish eyes. Archi would ask if he noticed this. “Ma’am, you have a visitor.”Visitor? I thought no one’s allowed to visit our home as long as the case isn’t solved yet. “Who is it?” I said, confused.“It’s Ms. Raña, ma’am.”Oh… “Let her wait in the living room. I’ll just put on some clothes.”“Yes, ma’am.” I went to the walk-in closet and chose comfortable clothes to wear.
—ALORA EUNICE’S POV—We rushed to the hospital after the incident happened inside the mall. Oliver received a large cut on his arm when he tried saving me from the attacker. I was so worried that I couldn’t help but cry when the blood didn’t stop from dripping. I felt Oliver’s trembling hand covered with blood holding mine. “Shh… this is… just…” he groaned and looked at his arm with pain in his expression. “… just a small cut.”“Shut up. It isn’t just a minor one,” I said. I waited not so far from the emergency room going back and forth. Someone’s after my life again. What kind of grudge do they have for my family that I am their number one target?“Alora!” I heard Archi’s echoing voice through the hallway. It was my first time seeing him this too rushed and worried. He immediately reached for me and hugged me tightly. I felt his heavy breathing as I rested in his embrace. This will always be my safe place. “Are you okay?” Archi held both of my cheeks and looked at my eyes, scann
WARNING: Mature content (Read at your own risk)—ALORA EUNICE’S POV—It took me a month to fully recover from the death threat incident. Now, I am always tailed by the private guards Archi hired, and I am thankful for that.“Good morning, ma’am!” The security guards greeted me the moment I entered De Herrera Empire main building. Everyone seemed to give me respect whenever they met me. I’m on my way to the conference room for the biggest project I’ll be handling this year. “Have you seen Mrs. De Herrera earlier, she’s really gorgeous. No wonder our boss fell so hard for her.” I heard the clear whispers of the employees in the lift. I am in the corner and no one noticed my presence.“Isn’t their marriage arranged? It doesn’t look like that, right? They are so in love.”“Really?”“Yes. Haven’t you heard that Mrs. Hernandez of the Marketing Department was rehired because of our boss’ wife?”“True! No one can change Mr. De Herrera’s decision but girl, Mrs. De Herrera is such a power.”“I
—ROME ARCHILLUS’ POV—It has been hours since Alora Eunice was transferred to the ICU but she’s not waking up.“Alora… please, wake up. I’m sorry. I should have asked you. I should have put my pride and ego aside. If only we’re not in a quarrel, you won’t hesitate to tell me that you’re receiving threats. I’m sorry, please, open your eyes. Look at me,” I slightly squeezed her hand, silently crying.“Rome…” dad Euren entered the room and tapped my shoulder. “Rest. I will stay with her.”“I don’t want to leave her.”“She’ll be worried if you don’t take care of yourself. You know, your health comes first. My daughter will be disheartened.”“But…”“We will do shifts. I will call you immediately when she wakes up.”I sighed and didn’t argue. I kissed her forehead before leaving.I saw a familiar face outside the ICU.“S-Sir…” it was Mrs. Hernandez, the one I fired. “Can we talk for a moment?” I asked, kind of exhausted. “Is Alora okay?” She asked as we walked down the hallway. “She hasn
