I leashed out my sword, ready to kill the skunk, when Adolf took a step forward, blocking his body as if he were protecting me from the skulk.

“You must go through me first before touching the princess.”

He needs to stop calling me a princess!

“Adolf, move. I can handle myself-”

I was cut off short when a skulk approached my way when I saw it from the peripheral view. My eyes widened when it was about to slash me with its long fatal claws when Adolf raised his hand to block the skulk, protecting me from its attack.

“I said, don’t hurt her!” Adolf growled into a mightier beast, squinting its eyes and forming hostile glares.

The skulk, by surprise, took a step back when Adolf’s form changed slightly. He became a werewolf within seconds when the skulk almost ripped out my face.

Adolf’s body became enormous as each second passed, almost conquering the whole region with its terrifying dominant form. The skulks hissed and then threw something at us before we could avoid it. Dust filled the entire place, causing me to cough deliriously.

“Fuck.” I heard Adolf curse softly before I felt something placed above my shoulder. I glance up only to see Adolf leaning closer to me. His face is an inch apart from mine.

We’re almost kissing…

“I’m sorry about that.”

I didn’t say anything since I couldn’t think straight because our chests were rubbing against each other. The tip of my breast is on his hard-barreled ones. I closed my eyes and then moved away, looking in the other direction.

“It’s okay,” I mumbled, then walked towards our jaunt.

Adolf was silent, but I felt him walking to follow me. I glance from the corners of my eyes only to see him clenching his jaw while eyeing me.

I sighed, then just focused my eyes on the front, preparing my sword in case danger comes ahead towards us. Adolf have been trying to protect me ever since we met. I don’t know his agenda but something tells me…

I have to be careful from him.

“Stop.”

I ceased from my tracks when Adolf spoke with alert. I was about to turn around to ask him what was the matter when the ground shook. My eyes widened, and it all happened too fast.

“Daciana!”

I groaned when I felt something wrapped around my body. I kicked my feet and tossed my arms in the air when I heard someone’s voice dooming the whole place.

“It’s nice to see you, Adolf.”

I opened my eyes only to see I was getting carried by an anonymous man! I slowly look up and notice its prominent features. I blink, adjusting my sight when the side of his lips curved, giving a taunting yet, childish grin.

Who is he?!

“Lowell…” Adolf growled alarmingly, narrowing his eyes into slits the moment their eyes made contact.

Do they know each other?

“The hearsay is true, huh? You’re actually alive. I thought my father had already dispatched you.”

Adolf didn’t say anything about the rumors about us being alive after Azariel attacked our kingdom ten years ago. He tilted his head to the side, clenching his hands into balled fists.

“You’re holding her, Lowell.”

That’s when both of their attention glimpse towards me. I blinked numerous times and couldn’t keep up with everything when Lowell chuckled. His grip on my legs tightened.

“What? It’s not like as if she’s your mate, Adolf.”

“LET GO OF HER!”

Lowell then stepped backward, telling Adolf he was planning to escape. Adolf didn’t hesitate to alter his form, growling like a magnificent beast that would make you bow down whenever you encountered him.

“You may look like your father, but remember, Adolf. You’re nothing like him and you’ll never be.”

He snaps his finger, and with that, skulks ambush us! They encircled Adolf and outnumbered him.

“Adolf!”

I was about to jump off Lowell’s arms to slash some skulks when Lowell suddenly transformed into a werewolf, just like Adolf, then pinned me on his shoulder before escaping.

I started to panic when Adolf got tinier from my perspective until he's no longer in my vision. The last thing I saw was him fighting the enemies while eyeing me.

“Adolf!-”

“Shut up, or I will kill you here.”

But that didn’t faze me. Even if he’s fast from running away and everything’s bumpy, I grip on my sword. I was about to slice his head when he slapped my hand, losing my sword in the tracks, then held me on the waist using his one hand only.

He’s monstrous.

“Adolf can’t save you, darling. He’s outnumbered, and you can do nothing about it.”

I moaned, then eyed him, “Please, let go of me.” I begged him, but instead, he smiled and then lick his lower lip.

“I can’t, dear.”

Before I could scream for mercy, Lowell covered my mouth with his giant paws. I don’t know who he is, but I feel something is wrong about his intuitions. I struggled to fly away when he stopped in his tracks after minutes of running away at full speed.

“Young master.”

We stop in front of a gate, and two skulks are positioned in the front to guide it. They opened the gates, bowing their heads slightly when Lowell came to the scene.

My eyes squint, trying to digest what this place is like when Lowell stops in front of a mini fortress with a side hustle built. As if this is not where he really lives at the moment.

The moment the door closed behind us, he threw me inside, causing me to roll down until my back hit a solid object. I groan in pain, trying to push my body to stand up, when Lowell sits on my stomach.

“I can make you a werewolf to make you my mate.” he grabbed my jaw, pinching it with his head tilted to his right.

“Stop this nonsense! Who are you?! Why are you doing this?! Why do you know Adolf?”

Lowell grinned appealingly, lowering his face until our noses almost kissing against each other.

“I am the current Alpha’s son. Does that ring a bell?”

Alpha’s son…current…

My eyes widened, and my whole world shattered when the realization hit me. Lowell noticed my expression. He smiled, then spread my arms apart, giving me a lascivious stare.

“I will kill you….” I mumbled.

He removes the strands of hair blocking my face and then cups my cheek.

“You can’t do that, honey. You’re pinned on the ground. Adolf is not here to rescue you. And the idea of me stripping you here to make you mine weakens you.”

Nothing came out of my mouth. I gritted my teeth, clenching my hand several times when Lowell whispered, and I realized he had already removed my top.

“Face it, there’s no hope for your kingdom. To make your life easier, submit yourself to me.”

Years later...I took a deep breath, inhaling the pure air that surrounded me. I glanced around the area, looking at all the people and taking in my surroundings. A gentle smile spread across my face as I thought of how lucky I was to be there at this exact moment. The beautiful trees and flowers seemed to be flourishing in the bright sun, creating a breathtaking landscape. The birds tweeted happily in between small bushes, adding to the already joyful atmosphere of this place.“Daciana? What on earth are you doing out there. Don't you remember that you need to go inside and get yourself ready?”I didn’t look up at him when he called my name. Instead, I felt my feet leave the ground, as if I could reach the stars and fly away from here. Memories of days gone by cascaded into my mind like waterfalls, bringing with them a flood of emotions. They were memories both fond and painful that made me pause in that moment, feeling vulnerable but also appreciative for all life had given me.“Do

I nodded my head slowly, taking the necklace from Father and carefully looping it around my neck. He smiled at me reassuringly, and then we both turned to face our foes. His gift to me had been a reminder of how much he cared for me, even in times of great peril. I felt an invisible surge of strength when I looked down at the glimmering metal against my chest; an assurance that no matter what would happen, Father was always by my side.“I’m so proud of you, darling.”Those were my father's encouraging words before we began to battle the groups of skulks advancing towards us.
