Chapter 2

Victor narrates.

"Victor it is disgraceful of you to go around threatening poor men like these," I can hear my father say as I point a gun at him, at the very man I was supposed to leave alive.

"Beg," I command the man kneeling in front of me.

He lets out a cry that I find as pleasurable as the day I started doing what my father had so kindly taught me to do.

"Joshua I will pay everything I owe—I promise—I just need more time, more time and I can pay it all back!" stammers the same man holding the barrel of my gun to his temples several times.

My father laughs a little sitting in a wooden chair.

"you told me the same thing last month and the month before last, I was watching you Fabricio, you were spending your money on whores and gambling, but not on paying off the same debt you got yourself into," my father clarifies as he lights a cigarette with his green tinder, the stupid green color he likes so much.

"Joshua—see that I can explain!" he said in fright.

I could smell his desperation and it made me feel elated.

He smiled broadly as he pulls the trigger, the sound of my gun being fired echoes in the huge dreary, and empty room, but nothing is heard outside the place, I feel pleased.

Joshua crosses his arms and then watches me.

"I must admit you're getting stronger Victor, I'm proud of you" he compliments me as he stands up and looks over his shoulder at me "but it's still not enough for what you're about to experience," he warns me.

I wish I had known what that meant.

At the time Joshua still had hair and I was much younger than I am now, but I still look just as sexy.

I have that ostentatious memory as I look at the lawyers, no one fights for an inheritance, I have no siblings and my father never married again.

"Mr. Van Hellfrost" greets a chubby man who has been watching me since I arrived.

"Read it out loud, I want to know what that bald man wanted to leave" I order the fat man, his voice was very familiar to me and of course it was, he was the same one who called me to inform me that my father had died, the chemos were not enough, who would say that a man as powerful as him, would lose against cancer, but against cancer, anyone can lose, you must be god's favorite to be able to fight that crap.

"As you order sir...To my dear Victor, I leave every one of my belongings which I specify below, the mansion in the United States, the residences in Spain, the hectares of the golf course in France—" the man is interrupted by me.

"I know he left me everything, I just want to know what he wanted me to do to get or keep all that—he said himself that he would give me buts to develop my responsibility" I was direct and curt precisely because I don't like so much charlatanism.

The man adjusts his glasses and then nods several times.

"To maintain your inheritance Victor, you must take into account the fact that I imperatively require you to have a family, you need a wife and child before you reach twenty-eight years of age if you want to continue living as you have been doing for a long time," the man reads somewhat surprised.

I grunt, then pound the table and laugh nonstop.

"I am not a virgin from the old Spain—I don't believe in marriage, I don't even care about women!" I shouted full of anger, but I was more than aware of what he had mentioned to me on more than one occasion.

"I think your father wanted it that way precisely because he knows you and doesn't want you to be alone, since you are all he had," the man clarified.

The others were silent, after all, he was paying them to hurt something right.

"Can't you modify?" I asked full of malice.

"No sir—it would be illegal, you'd get in a lot of trouble if you tried," replied fat Luigi.

I sighed.

"I have plenty of money—," I insisted.

"It's easier to get a wife than to invest money in something like forging an inheritance document. Don't you think so?" blurted out Cannel sarcastically.

I pursed my lips.

"Well, what else does it say besides that I have to get married?" I ask ignoring Cannel's comment.

"You must have a child...with your wife it is clear, an heir, to support your fortune," read the man behind me.

"I hate children—I can't stand them, I like it better when they are someone else's and after I get tired I can give them back—I can't have a child, I'm too young," I retorted.

I swear to God, if I had known my father was going to put so much bullshit in the will I would have drugged him just so he would write what he wanted and not have to comply with his absurd clauses.

Take a deep breath.

"Your lineage, your family name, is almost extinct sir, if you don't have descendants, it would mark the end of the powerful Van Hellfrost family," the man clarified.

I bit my lip, I did not expect them to refute my arguments in such a way, I was letting myself be blinded by my anger, I had to find a solution and I still had two years to achieve what my father wanted me to do, it was true that only I was left, I was the only Van Hellfrost, I had no other options and the only thing I could do was to get a wife.

I had to stop sleeping with any woman, pick one and sit down and get to know her, which I found very tedious, I had never done it, or well the one time I did it didn't go very well, I gritted my teeth.

"Fine—I'll get a wife, a real wife," I replied sternly.

I touched my face and when I finally found myself outside that room with large windows and elegant seats placed around a U-shaped table, I set out to walk down the halls in search of my thoughts, but a succulent aroma diverted me from that mission I had set out on, I took a deep breath and caught it, a beautiful lady in a white suit walking in the opposite direction I was supposed to go.

I stood completely still and then looked at her out of the corner of my eye, she turned to see me with a flirtatious smile, and just as I expected I walked towards where I was, I had no need to move, women were always looking for me, it was very easy that.

"You are Victor?" asked the flirtatious woman.

I supposed she must be one of the executive representatives of one of the many companies my father owned in his power, he had the good habit of placing beautiful women in powerful positions without hesitation, he said that women were better at commanding than men and even more rational, possibly, I never gave up on that, but I knew that none of them resisted me.

"Yes of course, who do I have the taste with?" he asked as I adjusted my tie a little.

"You have the pleasure with Veronica Diaz, I am a reporter for the newspaper El Nacional, and I would like to interview you" the woman pleads as she extended her hand towards me.

As soon as I touched her I felt the connection I wanted to get from her, as I detailed here I could notice her good posture, her wide hips, and her blonde hair, her eyes were light brown, and her skin of a white complexion, I failed to believe she was some executive director, but if she had a good position and potential, a beautiful lady working for a newspaper, I knew I wanted an interview for the same reason everyone wants to talk to me, now I was the new heir of the powerful house Van Hellfrost.

"You wish for an interview? —right now it's a bit difficult for me, I have some meetings later, but in the evening I'm free," I inform the beautiful woman as I look at her flirtatiously.

She squeezes her legs a little, strokes her hair, and then bites her fleshy bottom lip, she seemed to agree with my proposition, she seemed to me without a doubt somewhat confident in whatever she was willing to do to me.

I take a deep breath.

"I agree Mr. Van Hellfrost," she looks at me flirtatiously as she writes down her phone number on a piece of paper, "Here is my phone number, so you can let me know when you are available to talk," she whispers lightly in my ear as she hands me the piece of paper.

I find that very seductive, she is experienced, and she knows how to get information out of a man, I lick my lips with my tongue and watch her leave without hesitation, walking like a model through the halls, always with elegance and without stumbling. I can only think that I think it is magnificent.

I had not much time to lose, I was the new owner of my father's empire, a multimillionaire, but at what cost?

I didn't know if it was better to be alive and rich than to have my father by my side, he was a peculiar man, strong but with a strange character, he was that kind of person that didn't need to raise his voice to be imposing, maybe it was his personality or the life he had.

I comb my hair back while I get into the car, the driver doesn't take long to start the car and move forward through the busy streets, I don't need bodyguards, my father taught me to defend myself well, but not only that, you could say that I am special in an aspect incomprehensible even for people or even for normal people.

"Omar could you go faster, I'm hungry and it's almost time for lunch," I insist a little desperate.

Omar watches me through the rearview mirror of the car and nods several times, he speeds up and I feel calmer.

When we arrive at the elegant mansion, I take a long look at Elizabeth who always greets me, normally I ignore her, but today she looked different.

"Master, welcome," she smiles slightly, I know that smile is fake, but she looks very beautiful.

I shouldn't think so, after all, she doesn't have a scent that attracts me, on many occasions I have wondered if she is a woman, she is subtle and kind, but she doesn't attract me, a year has lasted and my I haven't ventured into her room, for some strange reason.

"Is lunch ready?" I ask sternly.

She nods several times and walks in front of me to guide me to where the six plates that five people would normally eat are served.

I don't like to eat in front of people, my father forbade me to do so and he has his reasons, I eat much more of it than an ordinary person would eat, not even an overweight person can compare to what I normally eat.

All I can think about is how hungry I am, I look at her like prey, there is nothing to enjoy anymore, but she is so beautiful.

"Sir—your food," she instructs me as she reaches out to where the wide table sits.

I look at her arm, I fail to understand why I never noticed her, why I have ignored her for so long, her face is like that of a porcelain doll, and the white dress she must always wear to serve me fits her so well and yet, I feel the need to look away.

"Is something wrong—doesn't your food look appetizing to you—can I fix you something else?" she asks full of concern, she must after all I am her owner now.

I grab her by the wrist and gasp, she stands completely still, I can feel her heart flutter slightly, but she is so stoic, she doesn't react with anything else, she dares not hit me, push me away and her heart only flutters once, a pulse of difference and her face is still the same, so angelic but in turn so expressionless.

I let go of her, I refuse to accept that there is a woman who stands calmly before me and is incapable of flinching at my manly presence.

"No, the food is perfect, you just don't look appetizing, go change—" I order her a little frustrated." Bernard—get the black dress, this white one doesn't look good enough for me anymore," I tell her annoyed.

She is very beautiful, but she ignores me, as much as I have ignored her.
