Chapter 24

In the carriage, Isabelle tried her best to control her tears by staring through the curtains the whole time.

She couldn't bring herself to cry anymore. She didn't want to. 

The princess kept sealing glances at her from time to time, feeling a little remorse for what had happened a while ago. 

A part of her wanted to place her hand on the confessor's thighs and sympathize with her, but the proud part of her couldn't do it. 

"Your mother died when you were a little right?" She finally said something and Isabelle turned to look at her.

It hurt her a little as she sniffed and looked away again. 

"She died when I was born" she answered and the princess' guilt increased. 

When she was born?

A few seconds passed, then she whispered:

"I'm sorry". 

Isabelle didn't say a word but just continued staring  through the window. She didn't want to talk about it - not at all.
