“You asked whom?” I am unable to believe what I hear.

“Azrielle. I bribed him,” Fionna repeats, rolling her eyes as we finally come to stand in front of the huge ornately-designed double doors at the end of the huge library that leads to the old relics section. The library is situated under my parents’ residence which should have been the residence of the present King/Queen, but my mother refused to leave and I wasn’t too keen on arguing with her. I was too devastated at that time to be announced as the heir to the throne.

“So why didn’t you tell me this earlier?” I grumble as she punches in the passcode and proceeds to turn around the handle, inserting another combination of codes.

“Because if I did, you would react the same way you did just now,” she mutters, focusing on opening the door.

“No wonder, you chose this time.” Mom and dad usually leave the residence at this time to meet Brian. She doesn’t answer.

“Huh?”
