Rora’s POV

“Why did you scatter them?” I asked, pointing at the disaster on the floor.

“Who said I did?” he retorted, looking like he was holding back a laugh.

It was pretty much obvious that all this was his handwork so what the heck did he mean by that?

He was seriously getting on my nerves and I so badly wanted to fling anything near me at his huge head.

“So, get to work.” He grabbed the keys off his table and swung them around his index finger, whistling.

“You have hundreds of maids here in the palace and you chose to make my life miserable, especially while I'm injured at that. Do you know how inconsiderate that is?” I yelled, barely able to contain how I felt. This was way worse than the pure rivalry that we shared. This was stupidity. I wouldn't do this to him if the roles were reversed.

… okay, maybe I would but that doesn't mean he can.

He raised a brow like I had just said something ridiculous. “Because you’re my slave. You don’t get to question me.”

  • The Last Horned Queen   Chapter 61: Rora’s POV

“Well, what if I was accusing you?” Reya muttered, coming close to me and kissing me with a slight peck on my cheek. I was so disgusted that I wanted to tear off the area that she had done that. She took some steps back and smiled widely at me.“Who would have thought that this day would come?” She mouthed and I wanted to tear her apart, limb for limb. The people started murmuring again.“You all don't know what you are doing. You're making a terrible mistake supporting her.” I said but the murmurs only grew louder.“A mistake? The odds are against you. What do you mean by a mistake?”“Stop it,” I said, my voice shaking but loud enough to cut through the murmurs. “You don’t get to accuse me without proof.”Reya's lips curled into a smug look and she paused at the men who were standing and covering up the spot where I had carried Fern from.Once she had done that, she stretched her hand and pointed at the splatter of blood on the floor and then raised a cocky brow at me.“I wonder what

  • The Last Horned Queen   Chapter 60: M-monster.

Rora's POVI pulled her body to my chest, not caring about the blood that coated my skin or how much of it was everyone's. Everyone was muttering incoherent words but I didn't pay a single mind to them. I placed my finger under her nose to check if she was still breathing and luckily for me, she still was.“What are you all standing here for? Someone should get the pack doctor!” I yelled at them but they just stood there looking at me weirdly.I wanted to poke their eyes out and have them do as I had said but their eyes kept darting to the palace beside the fern and my eyes slowly went there and my heart almost stopped at what I saw.Spelt in Fern's blood was my full name. Aurora. What sort of twisted joke was this?Anger foodies my mind and I tried sharply to the rarest maid beside me.She flinched like she had seen a monster and faltered in her step and almost fell on top of the woman behind her.“M–monster.” She blurted out and this startled me. Everyone turned to me but I had alre

Rora’s POVI paced around my room for what felt like the hundredth time, my eyes darting from the empty space on my desk where the book had been to the bed, the shelves, the drawers. Nothing. Not even any of the notes that he had left in the book were here.I pulled my hair, the pain of it, stinging my scalp.“Shit. Shit. Shit. I hadn't understood why he sent it yet and now it's gone?”“Someone took it,” Aira murmured in the back of my mind.I rolled my eyes at the obvious statement because I wasn't so dumb as not to know where I had left it.“No shit, Sherlock. I can already tell. “She scoffed and went back to her corner in my head and I instantly felt bad but at that moment, I couldn't bother to dwell on that.I tried to calm my racing thoughts, telling myself it had to be a mistake, that maybe I had left it somewhere else. I moved the chair back under the desk, straightened the stacks of papers, and pushed the cushions on the bed into place.Just as I pushed one of the books aside

  • The Last Horned Queen   Chapter 58: Gone.

Rora’s POV I nearly spat the water straight back into the glass. I managed to swallow just in time, coughing once as I turned away from the counter, wiping my mouth with the back of my hand. My heart thudded hard against my ribs as I faced him. “What?” I asked, too quickly. Zayn didn’t move from where he stood, his broad shoulders filling the entrance to the kitchen. His jaw was tight and his eyes stared at me with something I couldn't quite place my finger on yet. “You heard what I said the first time. Don't act like you didn't Rora.” He said rudely and I crossed my hands and faced him, the glass still in my hands. What was up with him and how did he even find out about the book? None of my mails even need to go through him so he wouldn't have found out like that. Besides, it has been days since I got it so why is he just asking me now if mails actually need to go through him? “I sighed and unfolded my hands, looking down at the floor briefly before looking back up at him. “

  • The Last Horned Queen   Chapter 57: Clawing hands

Zayn's POVThe sun filtered into the room and shone on her face, and she wrinkled her brow at the disturbance. A small smile graced my lips, and I pushed the hair that fell to her face aside, revelling in the beauty that had eyes for only me. I frowned as the memory of her saying she didn't want to be Luna crossed my mind and I almost got angry but Stephan's words made me act otherwise.I grabbed the duvet and got out of bed, going to the bathroom to wash myself. The water sprayed on my skin and I closed my eyes, letting it wash over me when I heard the bathroom door open. She stepped in and walked into my arms, placing her hands on my chest.I slowly open-end ky eyes and stared at her and smirked and she had that innocent look that always drove me crazy for some reason. “Hi.” She said in a small tone and I chuckled.“Hey.” I palmed her ass and she yelped, moving closer to me and my body reacted to her boobs brushing over my chest. I groaned a bit and she looked at me with a mischie

  • The Last Horned Queen   Chapter 56:All she saw was red.

Rora's POVReya didn't say anything and just raised her hand, touching her cheek as if she was still in disbelief that I had hit her. “Oh come on. You can't possibly be in shock that I hit you, could you?” I asked her and she stared at me with venom in her eyes. It was so evident that she had a lot to say, but didn't know how well to put it into words without causing a much bigger scene or getting hit by me even harder. It felt satisfying to put the bitchy queen down. After what seemed like ages of ransacking her brain on what to say to me, she finally spoke “How. Dare. You” I raised my hands above my head and shivered like her tone had scared me and some of the girls chucked.“Oh my gosh. I'm so scared right now because actually, how dare I raise my hand to a self-centred, bitch who derives joy and pleasure in putting people down and hitting them?”I moved closer to her, getting all up in her face and gently touched her cheek which she didn't like,“How does it taste?
