KYRA

I walked around the palace surroundings, bristling with anger and embarrassment until it was dark.

I entered the ridiculous big palace, searching for my room, and after about an hour of searching, I gave up.

Neither the guards nor the servants were helpful.

I crashed into the first room I saw, promising myself I was just going to spend the night and search for my room tomorrow when I found the warden.

Fortunately for me, the room was a furnished room which didn't come as a surprise due to how wealthy the Alpha king was.

I took off my clothes tiredly and dragged my feet to the bathroom. I needed a good shower to calm my nerves.

Halfway through my bath, I heard the door open and close, the sound of heavy footstep coming towards me.

I froze for a second, then frantically searched the bathroom with my eyes, looking for anything that could be used as a weapon.

Before I could blink, the bathroom door was thrown open, and a six foot five demigod was staring down at me with cold questioning eyes.

My brain went blank as I just stared at him, mesmerized by his beauty.

He had well-defined cheekbones, blue piercing eyes and a permanent scowl that looked so out of place on his face.

"What the hell are you doing in my room?!" The demigod growled.

That jolted me back to reality.

I slapped a hand over my breasts and my pubic area.

"What kind of pervert enters a girl's room and opens the bathroom door."

"Get out." He snapped, his voice deep and hoarse.

"I got here first." I retorted back, "I picked this room."

He paused, his eyes darkening.

He ran his gaze through my body either in disgust or disdain, I couldn't tell, but he was definitely angry.

Good, because I was angry too.

"Get out of here, else I'll be making a report to the Alpha King, let him know about the perverts he has working in his palace. Tell me, how many times have you 'accidentally' walked in on a lady in the shower."

"Who are you?" He asked slowly and calmly, causing the hair on my body to stand.

I glared at him, "Why a—"

A gasp left my lips.

My wolf just stirred for the first time.

"Hey?" I called eagerly, waiting for a response.

"Mate...." my wolf purred happily.

I dragged my eyes back to the intruder still by the door, glaring down at me like he wanted to torture me and watch me writh in fear.

I shook the dread crawling up my spine and grabbed a robe from the hanger, wrapping it around my body.

"Mate..." my wolf purred again, as if waiting for some sort of acknowledgment.

"Mate?" I voiced out, staring at the man.

"You're an omega." He commented, his eyes flashing with rage.

"Yes.... I—"

"You're nothing but just a regular Omega." He commented again, giving me a once-over.

"Why are you angry about that. I didn't ask to be an Omega. If you are going to reject me, let's get on with it. I didn't come here for you anyway, and I wouldn't want a pervert for a mate."

"Get out!" He growled.

My wolf whimpered, shutting me out instantly.

I grabbed my clothes from the floor and ran out, my heart thundering in my chest.

What the actual heck was that?!

I didn't even catch his name. How am I supposed to make a complaint now?

KYRASilence didn’t feel quiet. It felt loud.Heavy.Like the air had turned into stone and we were all trapped inside it.I couldn’t stop staring. My father lay motionless on the floor, the space around him stretching into something unreal, something distant. My brain refused to accept the shape of what had just happened. It kept trying to rearrange the scene into something that made sense.A mistake.A dream.Anything else.My hands were still shaking.Zyran’s arms were still around me, solid and warm and real, but even that felt far away, like I was touching the world through glass.“I need everyone out,” Nicole said quietly. Her voice cut through the room like a blade. No one argued.Emma moved first, grabbing the stunned guards by the sleeves and pulling them toward the door. No one resisted. No one even spoke. The room emptied in slow, stunned silence until only three of us remained.Nicole. Zyran. Me.And the body on the floor.Nicole exhaled slowly and dragged a hand down her

KYRA Everything blurred together after Zyran walked in.My mind was still trapped in that moment, Susan’s body on the floor, the blood on my hands, the cold emptiness in my chest. I could hear voices, movement, and tension thickening the air, but everything felt distant.Muted.Like I was watching everything happen from far away.Zyran’s gaze moved from me, to Susan, and something inside him shifted instantly. His entire body went still.Dangerously still."He killed her?" he asked quietly. No one answered immediately.Nicole’s jaw tightened.Emma looked away.I couldn’t speak. My father broke the silence."Your arrival is… inconvenient," he said calmly.Zyran’s eyes snapped to him.And the air in the room seemed to crack. His gaze was dark, colder than I’d ever seen before."You did this?" Zyran asked, his voice dangerously calm.My father smiled faintly."She interfered."That was all it took.Zyran moved forward. But before he could take another step,My father beat him to it..Fa

KYRA I couldn’t breathe. The room felt too small, too quiet, too suffocating. My father sat across from me, calm as ever, like he hadn’t just told me he wanted me dead. Like he hadn’t just reduced my life to a political inconvenience.I stared at him, searching his face for something, anything, familiar.I found nothing.“You’re different,” I whispered before I could stop myself. He tilted his head slightly, almost curious.“People change,” he said calmly.“No,” I shook my head slowly, my chest tightening. “Not like this.”Nicole shifted beside me, her presence grounding, her body tense as she watched my father carefully.Emma stayed close too, her hand lightly brushing my arm, like she was afraid I might collapse.Susan stood a little farther behind, silent, watchful, her posture alert.I swallowed hard.“So… that’s it?” My voice trembled slightly despite my efforts. “You brought me into this world… just to kill me?”My father’s expression didn’t change.“If it preserves my family’s

KYRA The ride to the Academy felt longer than it actually was.None of us spoke much after the transport arrived. The carriage cut through the forest roads quickly,I sat beside Nicole, my hands resting in my lap, fingers twisting together unconsciously. Emma sat across from me, watching me quietly, while Susan remained near the front, speaking occasionally with the driver in low tones. My thoughts kept drifting back to everything that had just happened.Davis.Astrid.Zyran.And now… the Academy.Nicole leaned back in her seat, her arms crossed, her expression unreadable. But I knew her well enough to see the tension in her shoulders. She still wasn’t convinced this was a good idea.Honestly… neither was I.But we were already committed. After nearly forty minutes, the trees began thinning, and the familiar outline of the Academy appeared in the distance. My breath caught slightly. The moment we got closer, I noticed something was wrong. The gates. They were damaged. Not destroyed,

KYRA The silence after Davis disappeared felt wrong.Too weird and too quiet. The wind brushed across my skin, cold and sharp, but it did nothing to calm the storm still raging inside me. My heart hadn’t stopped racing. My hands were still trembling, even though Emma held onto me like she was afraid I might disappear.Nicole stood a few feet ahead of us, blade still in her hand, her posture tense, her shoulders tight. She was staring at the woods Davis had run into, her breathing still uneven.Zyran stood beside her, quiet and still, but the air around him felt dangerous. Like something inside him had snapped and hadn’t quite settled yet.“He won’t get far,” Susan said softly.Zyran didn’t look away from the trees.“No,” he replied quietly. “He won’t.”I swallowed, my throat dry.Davis.I still couldn’t believe it. My mind kept replaying his face, the calm in his eyes, the quiet sympathy he’d given me before he ran.I didn’t know what hurt more, the betrayal or the revelation about m

KYRA The blade remained pressed against my throat as Davis dragged me backward.Step by step. The hall seemed frozen in time.No one dared to move.Zyran’s eyes never left me.Or Davis. His expression was cold, calculating, but beneath it, I saw something else.Betrayal.Davis continued backing away slowly, keeping me firmly in front of him."Don't follow," he warned quietly.Nicole looked like she was about to ignore him completely."Nicole," I whispered softly. Her jaw tightened. She stopped.Davis reached the exit. Then he moved fast.He pulled me with him and bolted outside.Gasps echoed behind us.Footsteps.Shouts.But Davis was fast.Much faster than I expected. He dragged me across the courtyard, then toward the forest beyond the palace walls. My heart pounded as branches scratched against my arms and dress."You're not getting far," I said breathlessly. He didn’t respond. He just kept running. We climbed higher.Up a slope. Then another. Finally—He stopped. We stood on a hi
