“Capturing the flag gives you forty points, and the rest sixty points are earned by slaying beasts and obliterating the competition,” Alana explained.

Fjall gasped in shock, his head flung around, glancing at his teammates, hoping that one of them shared the same thoughts he did regarding the fact that obliterating competition was the same as murder.

However, no one, even his brother, seemed to hold any sort of regard towards the issue. And as if Alana just didn’t say something crippling, Ayra continued.

“The race will be held on the other side of the mountain. The beasts will be let loose and when you slay one, the scores will be shown to the leaders.” She glanced at a pavilion that was erected high by the help of stones and wood.

On that pavilion resided the Heads of the three houses, eating or drinking away.

“So do you understand now?” Ayra asked.

Mordeu nodded his head, but Fjall had other thoughts. “When you say obliterating the competition, what does that mean?”

  • The Last Red Wolf   Battle II

Fjall’s breath suddenly stuck in his throat, his body was unable to move, but he didn’t need to move because the arrow’s attempts at penetrating Alana failed. He lifted his eyes and saw Freya, holding the arrow in place. Fjall watched the arrow suddenly turn to ashes.Freya took a step back, stretched out both her hands, and then fire exuded from both palms, blasting the invoking humans with blue flames. Everyone caught in the fire immediately turned to ashes. She didn’t stop there. With her left hand, she continued to exterminate them with hot blue flame; her right hand, however, grabbed hold of her sword. She started to make circles with it. However, what became of it was a wind greater than what anyone had ever seen. The wind was so strong, it managed to pull some trees from the earth, but of course, her plan was not to destroy the battlefield. She shot out the long tornado she had made toward the humans. The tornado wiped them out, tossed them away in different directions, and whe

  • The Last Red Wolf   Battle.

A human walked behind him and pushed his green-powered sword into Mordeu, hoping that the wound was large enough for it not to heal. However, before the human even had the chance to stand and watch what became of the wound, his head was already bitten off by Mordeu. It was quite a sight. In less than a few seconds, only Mordeu’s head took the shape of his original form, and with it, he opened his wide mouth, big enough to bite off over twenty humans’ heads, and bit off the soldier’s head.“Ewww,” Freya grimaced. However, they all watched, waited to see what happened. Mordeu found the sword buried deep into him that it came out the other way and then pulled it out. In a speed faster than a blink of the eye, the wound healed up.“That is impossible,” Alana and Freya said at once.“That was supposed to kill him!” Alana yelled. “Why is he not dead?”Not only was he not dead, he attacked with more ferocity than before, and in only a few seconds, all the humans present were dead. The rest

  • The Last Red Wolf   The Veil.

Ayra and Fjall joined the party, finding one way or another to be glued to the rest of their team as they laughed and cheered themselves.“Cillian,” Alana called, “don’t tell me you’re too mature for this.”Cillian shook his head, “you have all gone mad,” he continued riding ahead whilst the others laughed behind him. They walked for some more miles, laughing and talking amongst themselves, successfully granting Freya the complete pleasure of having friends.Oh, they were not friends, they were a team. They were teammates. Their loyalty to each other, the respect being possessed of the other was quite commendable. They were teammates who laughed together and who did not judge her for the actions of her mother.Freya understood that laughing together and making jokes did not mean that their relationship had magically gotten better. She knew without being told that the reason why Cillian didn’t join in was because he still possessed some reservations for her and maybe for Alana. She wa

  • The Last Red Wolf   “I will never abandon you…. We’re a team”

“I cannot help but feel really broken. I feel this in places I never thought I could feel emotions. Why didn’t she just kill me?”“You can’t die that easily,” Cillian found himself answering, too late to stop himself.Mordeu scoffed, “So you’re saying she must’ve tried to.” He found himself laughing. “My mother must’ve tried to kill me.”His head threw back as he laughed in the night like a maniac. He had seen how Melissa treated Fjall, hell, how Melissa treated him, and he knew what a mother should look like, how she should act, how greatly she loved and adored her child. He knew that no matter what Fjall’s fur looked like, Melissa would not think to abandon him. No matter what people said about him, what she read, she would not leave him. That no matter what, she would stand behind him because he was her son.But at the slightest chance that his own mother got, she abandoned him.Cillian watched this tragedy with a heavy heart, silently blaming himself for this misfortune that land

  • The Last Red Wolf   Mordeu’s pain

Mordeu lifted his face from the earth and rose to his feet. The punch had been so heavy that his whole body had been knocked to the ground. However, the much-expected pain only lasted for a split second, and the bruise that was meant to form on his features healed back up at the speed of light.Mordeu frowned. He maintained a stance of defense as he watched and waited for another strike from Freya, who just stood and watched him.“Are you letting me beat you up?” she asked. “Is this some kind of punishment?”Mordeu lifted an eyebrow in question. “You have only punched me twice, I’m not letting you beat me.”“Yeah, but those two times you were totally unprepared and lost in thought.” She pointed out the truth.Mordeu shrugged. “And it’s my loss. In battle, one must be focused on the task at hand and not get distracted by anything. It’s my fault for allowing my emotions to become a distraction.”Freya rolled her eyes. “And this stupid stance you’re taking?”Mordeu looked down at his fee

  • The Last Red Wolf   The blossom of a friendship

Granted, there hasn’t been much going on with Mordeu, especially back at home. All he did was mess around with some girls, some widows, some witches and it was just sex with nothing there and he did inform his brother of it.However, when it came to expressing his feelings, talking about what was truly going on with him, Mordeu’s lips were sealed. Not today.“We need to talk!” Fjall stated as he noticed that Mordeu had finally freed himself from the evil clutches of the uniform.Mordeu sighed, “there’s nothing to talk about.”“Yes, there is,” Fjall advanced. “I don’t know why you prefer to keep things from me but it isn’t pretty.”Mordeu had his back to Fjall and it was the perfect position to roll his eyes without Fjall seeing him, “what am I keeping from you?”“Well, for one, talk about what Kai meant earlier, because you cannot just tell me there’s nothing. You would not have gotten angry if it was really nothing.”This was what Mordeu hated, this was what he knew Kai’s big mouth w
