Sienna's POV

"Get him away from me!" Kieran ordered.

The bodyguards dragged Ronan across the floor. He coughed out blood, and looked at me.

I was scared anything would happen to him.

"He'll live," Kieran said, as if reading my mind.

Kieran's men dragged him to the door, and his boots scraped the ground. Just as they were about to leave the door, something bright slipped out of his hand.

Kieran hadn't noticed, he had his back turned, and I ran to pick the dagger.

Kieran turned just as quickly and I hid the dagger in my palm behind me.

The door closed, and it was just Kieran and I left in the room.

"Are you that stupid?" He asked.

"Huh?" I asked, startled.

"He got in, and you didn't notice," Kieran blurted.

I was aware, but I didn't have time to argue with him. I wanted him out of my room as quickly as possible so I could loosen the ventilation shaft above and get the hell out of his house.

He stepped forward, and I retreated with every step he took.

He smirked, having me cornered to the wall and leaned closer.

"Are you okay?" He asked. "You seem nervous, Sienna."

His voice showed he was amused.

What in the world was he thinking?

"And why would I be?" I asked, finally finding my voice.

His face was awfully close, and I gulped. "You tell me, Sienna," he said. His hot breath touched my skin.

I needed a diversion.

Quick, Sienna. Think of something fast.

I battled with my mind, unable to think of something important. His fearful look turned into something softer. His gaze lowered to my lips.

I turned my head slightly before his lips could touch mine and I smiled.

If he was interested in me, then maybe I could use it to my advantage.

I turned my gaze back to him, and licked my lips.

He seemed shocked, but smiled as I brought my hand to his chest moving slowly, warming his muscles.

"You want this, right?" I asked, playing my fingers on his chest.

"I don…" he started, but I interrupted.

"Let me help you relax," I whispered.

His jaw tightened, and he raised an eyebrow

I shrugged, allowing my hand to go upwards to his throat. "I'm just curious."

He didn't stop me. I kept moving, distracting him with my hand and when I realised his guard was then, I acted, releasing the dagger.

I attacked, bringing the dagger close to his face. He moved quickly avoiding my hit and held my wrist again when I tried once more.

He had me pinned to the mattress and the dagger dropped to the ground. He was strong, pulling me under him. I was trapped, I couldn't move.

"Get off," I said, wrestling to get myself out of the situation I had caused.

His face hovered a mere inch away from mine.

For the first time ever, actual panic ran through my veins.

I struggled, but he wouldn't budge. His grip tightened instead.

Then, without warning, he leaned down.

And he kissed me.

It wasn't gentle. It was hungry, demanding. His warm lips moved against mine, holding me in place.

I gasped, moaning into his mouth before I could stop myself. It was so intense, I couldn't think straight.

I wanted more, I needed more, but his lips moved away from mine.

"I'll advise you not to play games with me,Sienna," he muttered softly. "You'll lose "

That was a threat and he meant business. I blinked, remembering the kiss again.

Something inside me snapped.

Before I could think straight, I shot out a knee and kicked his groin.

"Ugh," Kieran groaned and jerked as the pain hit him.

I didn't lose a moment and lunged at him, grabbing the nearest big thing close to me as he rolled off me.

The heavy crystal case crashed on his head shattering into different little pieces and Kieran cursed falling to the floor.

Then, I ran. Speeding through the door and down the corridor.

The bodyguards were talking downstairs and I acted differently, suddenly keeping a regular pace to avoid suspicion from them.

I easily moved through the open passage and was so close to the door, my heart jumping in victory when one of the guards' voices rang out.

"Where are you going?" He asked coldly.

I turned round slowly, forcing a big smile. "Um…I was just going to get some fresh air."

The bodyguards adjusted his suit, pulling his jacket close and buttoning it. "I'll follow you."

I shook my head, freaking out on the inside. "No, no need. I'm good. I just need some air."

Another guard entered and he made things more difficult. "Master Kieran said not let you out of our sight for a second."

Damn that stupid man.

"I'll be back, I promise," I bargained.

"Of course you will. Let's go," the guard answered.

I knew they would find me suspicious if I refused. My heart raced as I thought of my plan getting ruined and I swallowed.

They couldn't be blocking my path. Not today.

I couldn't let them follow me and I bolted, pulling the door open. They followed me, shouting behind.

I raced through the mansion, twisting down unfamiliar hallways, dodging furniture, shoving past anything in my way.

I got lucky, and the.back door opened a few feet ahead of me.

I didn't hesitate and burst out of the door.

"Wait, stop!" They yelled as I ran into the woods.

I didn't look back, ignoring the thick branches lashing at my arms.

The chase became hotter, and then before I could avoid it. I was on the cliff, unable to stop myself from falling when I tried to avert the lane.

I fell into the river, screaming and splashing hard. I tried to rise to the surface, only to be pulled back by the water's current.

I couldn't swim.

"Help me," I yelled, but the water waves blocked the sound of my voice pulling me down in the waters.

The bodyguards ran past me and I tried to swim up, and yell for their help.

"Hel…" I yelled and got dragged into the water again.

I was sinking. I kicked, and struggled, but the current was too strong.

I was foolish. I shouldn't have ran. The water pul

led me up once more, and invited a figure walking to the riverbank.

"Help me," I breathed, before the water dragged me under again and I closed my eyes.

  • The Last Ruby Wolf - Live as a Queen or Die as a Monster   The Phantom's Stand

Ronan's POVThe world burst in blinding light as Sienna released her power. I threw myself over Kieran's unconscious body, sheltering him from the blast. When I looked up, Sienna was facing her twin brother Zeke, whose eyes glowed a strange golden color I'd never seen before. Then she fell.I was moving before I even realized it, racing across the wrecked ritual site. But Zeke reached her first, his golden light wrapping around her like a blanket."Don't touch her," I growled, skidding to a stop.Zeke's head snapped up. "She needs help. The ritual drained her.""I know what she needs," I said, memories rushing back with each passing second. "Better than you do."The Blood Moon still hung overhead, its red light calling to my wolf. But there was something else too—a pull toward Sienna that I'd felt since the moment we met. A connection I couldn't explain until now."You don't remember, do you?" Zeke asked, his golden eyes narrowing. "What they did to you. What they took from you."More

  • The Last Ruby Wolf - Live as a Queen or Die as a Monster   Blood Moon Rising

Sienna's POV"Kieran!" I screamed again, watching in fear as the darkness wrapped around him like a second skin. The Blood Moon was rising now, painting everything in red light. I could feel its pull on my powers, making the Ruby Wolf inside me antsy and hungry.Kieran—or whatever was now directing him—smiled with teeth that were too sharp, too many."The Blood Moon ritual has begun," he said in that terrible double voice. "Choose your mate, Ruby Wolf. It is your destiny."I stepped back, my mind racing. The prophecy said I had to choose a mate during the Blood Moon or my powers would consume me. But Ronan had just told the truth—the prophecy was about sacrifice, not bonding."You're lying," I said, trying to buy time. "The real Kieran would never hurt me."The thing wearing Kieran's body laughed. "Are you so sure? His curse was always meant for this moment. To bind with a Ruby Wolf during the Blood Moon and complete the sacrifice."Caius moved to my side, his vampire speed making him

  • The Last Ruby Wolf - Live as a Queen or Die as a Monster   The True Enemy

The True EnemyKieran's POVI watched in awe as Sienna stepped through the tear in reality. But this wasn't the Sienna I knew. Her eyes glowed blood-red, and power rolled off her in waves that I could feel against my skin."Sienna?" I called again, stumbling to my feet despite my wounds. The shadow animals that had been attacking us suddenly froze. Then, one by one, they turned toward her, their many eyes fixed on her glowing form."What's happening?" Ronan asked, limping to my side. Before I could answer, the shadows attacked—not us, but Sienna. They rushed toward her like a black tidal wave.I tried to move, to help her, but my body wouldn't answer. I'd lost too much blood. Then something incredible happened. Sienna raised one hand, and fire—ruby-red and blinding—erupted from her fingers. The shadows screamed as they burned away to nothing."She's... different," Caius said, appearing beside us. His old ritual had failed, but he was still standing."What did the journal do to her?" I

  • The Last Ruby Wolf - Live as a Queen or Die as a Monster   Trial's End

Sienna's POVLight and darkness fought inside me. One moment I was being pulled through the book, the next I was somewhere else—a place between worlds. Not quite real, not quite a dream."Welcome to the final stage, daughter," said a voice I both knew and didn't know.I opened my eyes to see a woman with my face, but older. Colder. Lyra Storm—the Midnight Queen—my mother."This isn't real," I whispered, trying to back away. But there was nowhere to go. We stood in an empty white space that went on forever."It's more real than anything," Lyra smiled. "This is the Trial of Power—the final test before you become what you were always meant to be."I remembered Kieran's hand grabbing mine, trying to pull me free. I remembered Caius performing some ancient rite. But now they felt far away, like memories from another life."Where am I?" I asked."Between worlds," Lyra answered. "The journal wasn't meant to trap me. It was meant to bring you here. To complete your training."I felt anger ris

  • The Last Ruby Wolf - Live as a Queen or Die as a Monster   The Prince's Gambit

Caius's POVI was there when the Ruby Wolves were born. Not many remember that vampires helped make them, but I do. I was only a young prince then, barely two hundred years old. Now, watching Kieran clutch the book that had swallowed the Midnight Queen—and possibly Sienna—I felt every one of my thousand years weighing on me."We need to get her back," Kieran growled, his purple eyes still sparkling with curse magic.I nodded, but my attention was split. The ritual spot was still crackling with dark energy. The Queen might be trapped, but her power remained. And something else was coming through the tears in reality—shadowy forms, ancient and hungry."The journal won't hold her for long," I said, my voice steady despite my fear. "And we have a bigger problem."Kieran looked up, finally noticing the dark forms forming around us. "What are those?""The Queen didn't just want power," I explained, drawing my backup blade. "She wanted to bring back the god of destruction—the entity that cre

  • The Last Ruby Wolf - Live as a Queen or Die as a Monster   Alpha's Fury

Kieran's POVMy blood burned like fire in my veins. The curse I had fought for years was finally taking over, but this time was different. As I watched Sienna and Zeke disappear into the dark portal, something inside me snapped. My body should have been changing, losing control to the blood rage like always. Instead, I felt a strange calm wash over me. The rage was still there, building with every heartbeat, but I could direct it. Control it."Kieran!" Caius shouted, his vampire speed bringing him to my side in an instant. "Your eyes!"I didn't need a mirror to know what was happening. The burning feeling behind my eyes told me everything. They weren't turning the usual blood-red of my curse. They were glowing purple—the same purple as the old symbols on the ritual stones."I can feel it," I said, my voice deeper than normal. "But I'm not losing myself."The Midnight Queen, or what was left of her, floate
