CHAPTER 31

When Leigh heard that Wayne had entered the car, she immediately turned her eyes to the car window, and the car started. Leigh doesn't take her eyes off the window outside, especially since she doesn't want to turn her eyes to Wayne. Leigh knows she'll only feel more annoyed and mad if she does that.

The car slowed down because of the traffic. Somehow Wayne calmed down so he chose to break the silence and explain the truth to Leigh.

"Believe me, it's not my intention to leave you alone at the party," Wayne said first as he looked straight ahead; while Leigh's eyes were still on the window. "I just didn't expect that I would see Becca there. I am telling the truth, I swear!"

Wayne didn't expect to get an answer from Leigh; he fully expected her to remain quiet.

"I don't need your explanation. Don't waste time trying to explain to me," Leigh said without looking at Wayne. "What's done is done," she added.
