4. RELATES TO THE PAST

Celine Blossom Immanuel closed the book she was reading. Looking at the three people in front of her, she asked, "Do you believe in reincarnation?"

"Huh. I know you've asked that question many times and my answer remains the same. I can't believe it," Levin retorted with an annoyed sigh, leaning back on the sofa.

Levin Immanuel is Edric's close brother, both of whom have high power far above the Bridgette family although they still have close family ties.

While Edric just shuddered indifferently at his cousin's question.

“I don't care about your answer, Levin! How about Edric, you must believe it right? You are a cop, maybe in your previous life you were a cop too!” Celine forced.

“I just believe, all this time, I've always joined the corpses and human bones in ancient times. And I really hope they can come back with a much better life,” Athena interrupted.

“I'm not asking you, Athena. Edric, quickly answer my question!” Celine snapped.

Athena seemed to nudge the handsome man so that the man answered Celine's question with a sweet smile. However, what Edric did was just the opposite.

The man rose from his seat, looking at the watch on his right hand, "It's already five minutes

past one, you can be late for the exhibition at the gallery."

"I'd go, but I don't want to be with Levin. He was noisy. Besides, the requirement was that I

had to bring at least one person with me to the exhibition. Is it just you, Edric?" Celine asked.

"He must return to the police station immediately. After all, Athena is with him," Levin refused.

"Please, you like a painting anyway, don't you? Come and go with me!” forced Celine.

“Look, this kid is really annoying. She's an adult but still behaves like a child,” Levin pouted.

Athena smiled a little when Edric looked at her then replied. "I'll go home alone, don't worry."

***

Seen a handsome man, with a firm facial line, sharp nose, thick eyebrows, everything on him feels so perfect. His gaze was sharp, as if it could penetrate even hard objects, and his smile was so expensive, and his flat but charismatic face seemed to be able to attract the attention of women.

The man's name was Edric Winston, a dashing cop and came from the number one richest family in Great Britain. He has absolutely no flaws, everything about him is perfect. However, since childhood, painting was the desire of Edric Winston. He really liked it when his father came back from work to come home with a painting. Either in any form, Edric really liked it. He hoped that, in order to paint someday, he had tried his best to paint the object in front of him, but he failed. Surprisingly, only one that he can describe very, beautifully namely the view of the beach. Since the first, he has taken many lessons to be able to paint other things. Unfortunately, his hands and imagination seemed to work together so that he could only draw the beach continuously. Edric was frustrated and chose to stop painting but still collected some antique and beautiful paintings.

He stopped walking in front of a gallery that was very crowded with visitors. The building used by the gallery has green paint that makes it look beautiful and very comfortable. His eyes stared at the two paintings, medium in length, on the right and left of the entrance, the two paintings depicting a forest with green paint. His stern face, as if turned into a face full of enthusiasm to browse this gallery. He stepped back, accompanied by Celine, who was busy taking pictures while researching some pictures for her course. Edric himself was standing in front of an abstract painting with the theme of a very beautiful woman.

“You know the good news from this gallery? They sold all the paintings here, because there are some paintings that were donated by my class!” Celine exclaimed excitedly.

"Where is your painting?" asked Edric, looking around.

Celine pointed to the painting in the middle, the painting that caught the attention of the visitors the most. She tugged at Edric's arm, pushing her way through the crowd, and again pointed to the signature at the end of the painting.

Sometimes Edric felt very jealous of his younger cousin. Celine can paint anything she wants, and can express her imagination with ease. Unlike him, who can only paint one object for some reason. The painting, which was specially treated in front of him this time, was themed about a landscape and a sea creature.

“I got the inspiration for this painting, from one of the beautiful professors. She also founded this gallery and managed everything. She said that my painting was the most beautiful of all,” said Celine proudly of her painting.

Edric put his hands in his pants pockets. A painting of a twilight landscape, with a purplish sky on a beautiful beach and a mermaid combing her hair, on a rock. In his opinion, it was too imaginative. “How could it be like this?”

"Of course, I can. Professor Crystall tells, about a mermaid and a handsome man from a novel. And I got the inspiration," Celine said, pointing to a beautiful woman with shoulder-length, wavy black hair, "There, Professor Crystall."

Because Celine pointed, Edric's gaze automatically shifted to the woman he was pointing at. Strangely, when he looked at the woman, and found that she was also looking at him, their gazes met for a while. The woman's face looks very beautiful in Edric's eyes. Her skin is white, her lips are not bright red, her nose is a little sharp, with a very warm look. When there was a wind that brushed the long hair, it seemed that Edric wanted to justify it so as not to cover up the woman's beauty. And when the woman tucked her hair behind her ear, Edric felt something in his heart, like a strange feeling that had perched on, strangely, only vaguely. Those thin lips curled into a friendly smile, making Edric really couldn't stop staring at her. Until the woman seemed to be walking towards him as well as Celine with graceful steps, those sharp eyes couldn't be distracted for a second.

“Hi, Cel—”

The woman looked like she wanted to say hello to Celine, but suddenly a man came over and turned his back on Celine and Edric. The man was Noel Othniel, who came with a sweet smile at the woman named Crystall.

"I've finished my painting," Noel reported, handing her his painting.

Crystall looked pleased as she assessed the painting. “I like this. Let's display it."

And they both just walked away from there. Seeing this, Edric felt a pain in his heart that even made him fall on the floor. The pain, just like an oddity that seemed to be connected between the past and the present.
