It was wrong.

Of course he knew it was wrong.

Watching her on the hidden camera feed, her soft movements, the way her fingers played with the edges of her robe, the subtle pout of her lips as she brushed her teeth, he knew it crossed every line. But Marco Sanchez had stopped caring about lines a long time ago.

She stayed awake all through the night. He could see the vulnerability in her eyes. The anxiety and uncertainty. And he wanted to know why. She looked so unhappy and he couldn't stand it. He could make her happy, he thought. He could make her feel what Stefano couldn't. So he had to see her. Now, Stefano was out of her room. It was his chance.

Because even so, she was slipping away.

Every look, every touch she gave to Stefano was another dagger in his chest. He’d played patient, played brother, played protector. But he couldn’t do it anymore.

So Today, he would remind her.

  • The Lie that Binds   Chapter 59: The War With The Mind

SerenaSerena’s body was with Stefano, but her mind was scattered in fragments, swirling in every direction like shards from a shattered mirror.Even when he looked at her with warmth and tenderness, telling her it was time to stop talking business and focus on each other, she couldn’t. She tried. God, she tried. But her heart was pounding with dread, her mind replaying the funeral video, Melissa’s grieving face, Fiona’s haunted eyes, the little boy clutching a framed photo of Roland Forbes. She couldn’t look at Stefano without wondering what else was real and what was orchestrated. The weight of it all made her breath shallow, her chest tight. Yet, she couldn’t let him suspect anything. So when he smiled softly and bent to lift her into his arms, she wrapped her arms around his neck like muscle memory. She closed her eyes and laid her head against his chest, not because she felt safe, but because she didn’t trust herself to meet his gaze. She didn’t want him to see the guilt cracking

Serena Still outside, beneath the lavender-tinged sky, the sun slipped toward the horizon in a golden cascade. A calm breeze stirred the trees, whispering through the leaves, brushing soft fingers over Serena’s cheeks. She stood there Stefano, but her mind was still caught in the whirlwind of his earlier revelation—the truth about the nuclear warhead, his father, the lies. Her heart hadn’t slowed since. And yet, just when she thought nothing else could shake her, his phone buzzed.Stefano looked at the screen, his features tightening. He answered it but didn’t move away. Instead, he took the call right there beside her, his hand resting lightly on the small of her back as if anchoring her to him.She tried not to listen—but how could she not?“Speak,” he said into the phone, his voice calm but lethal.A deep male voice on the other end gave a swift report: “The raid in Rome was a success. We secured all seven girls. Ages between ten and sixteen. The bastards were tipped off, but we g

  • The Lie that Binds   Chapter 57: Beware The Jealous Man's Obsession

Few minutes earlierMarco Meanwhile, while the lovebirds enveloped themselves with passion and love, a man lurked in the corner, burning with intense jealousy that could scorch the entire countryside, as he watched them. She was leaning into Stefano, her soft giggles like a symphony of betrayal. Her eyes sparkled with joy that should’ve belonged to him. Her body melted into the arms of the man Marco was slowly hating with a depth that bordered on divine wrath. Stefano didn’t deserve her light. The bastard didn’t even understand what he had.Marco’s fists clenched at his sides, his knuckles pale and stiff. He watched them from afar, hidden in the forest line, his gaze burning holes into their silhouettes. His heart beat erratically, a chaos of yearning and loathing. His desire for Serena had long since morphed into something grotesque. Beautifully inevitable. He didn’t just want her.He wanted to own her.To remake her laughter in his name. To mold her joy with his presence. He wante

SerenaThey wined. They dined. And for a brief, surreal moment, it felt like the world outside had paused. The tension, the secrets, the bloodshed, all of it faded beneath the soft glow of candlelight and the low hum of the violinist serenading them from the far corner of the terrace.Stefano was different here.He smiled more, his jaw less tight, his eyes less guarded. Conversation flowed between them like an old river, winding through memories, jokes, glances that lingered just a second too long. They spoke of music and favorite wines, of childhood homes and bizarre phobias. At one point, he even laughed. A full and unrestrained laughter. And the sound of it struck something in her chest. Something warm. Something dangerous and soothing at the same time. SSomething so soothingly dangerous. They shared dessert by hand; warm pear tart with honey and lemon cream. Her fingertips grazed his lips once, and he kissed the sweet residue from them without hesitation.Soon, the plates were emp

  • The Lie that Binds   Chapter 55: The Surprise

SerenaThe moment the door clicked shut behind her, Serena exhaled. She was finally alone. Her heels clicked against the polished marble as she walked into the lavish room Stefano had given her, a private sanctuary tucked within the maze-like corridors of his countryside estate. The gold-trimmed windows filtered in the pale orange blush of sunset, casting honeyed shadows across the soft white walls. With a playful sigh, she let herself fall backward onto the plush bed, the silk sheets cool against her skin. She bounced slightly, laughing under her breath at the childlike motion. But the laughter faded quickly, melting into silence as the weight of her thoughts returned. She stared at the ceiling, her fingers fisting the bedding beneath her, and replayed everything that had happened. Her words. Her composure. She hadn’t crumbled under the weight of violence or bloodshed, instead she’d embraced it. She faced the chaos head-on. With that, she had shown him she wasn’t afraid of his worl

SerenaThe heavy gates of Stefano's countryside manor creaked open, the armored SUV rolling in with thick tires crunching over gravel. It was nearly dawn, the first blush of sun bleeding into the steel-blue sky. Fog hung over the estate like a veil. A soft, silent, and strangely reverent cloak.Inside the car,Serena sat upright, her gaze trained on the winding drive ahead, her spine rigid, shoulders squared. She looked every inch the soldier she had once trained to become. Next to her, Marco was unusually quiet, his body turned slightly toward her, though his eyes remained forward.Neither of them spoke. Not about the warehouse turned carnage. Not about him shielding her from an explosion. Not about the moment she’d almost taken a bullet for him. Not about how she’d single-handedly gunned down over a dozen men, retrieved six crates of RH-57s, and dragged Marco’s unconscious body out with the grace of a seasoned ghost. Not about the way his head had lolled against her chest, blood tric

Serena She found herself pinned to the cold marble wall, her legs spread apart as his thick rod rocked her world. But the man grinding into her wasn’t Stefano. It was Marco. The cool shower raining down on them did nothing to quench the burning heat and desire between them. Kissing intensely. Moaning desperately for release.Marco interlaced their hands, groaning so passionately into her mouth as he thrusted in deep. His lips trailed wet kisses to her ear. Their breathing synced, he whispered to her. “‘I'm yours… say it.” She gasped aloud with ecstasy, feeling his tip press against her g-spot. “Say it!” He commanded again, showing her widely spread lips no mercy with each pound.“Mhmm.” She whimpered, her senses escaping her. “Marco…I'm yours…” she gasped. “Oh…I'm yours!” Marco grunted, biting his lips, “Yes..” he declared. “MINE.” He increased his pace. The tempo fastened, thrusting into her like a beast. He let go of one hand and wrapped it around her throat. “You're mine, Sere

  • The Lie that Binds   Chapter 52: The Fallout

Gunfire engulfed the warehouse. The warehouse was once a negotiation site was now a battlefield. Metal clanged, crates exploded into splinters, and the thunder of bullets echoed off the concrete walls. Her fur coat long gone, Serena dropped to one knee behind an overturned table, her breath caught in her chest, heart slamming like a war drum. Her veins pulsed with thrill and kill. This was what she lived for. Her pistol smoked from her last shot, and beside her, Marco had already downed four men with brutal precision. The space was flooded now—more armed men poured in through the warehouse doors, rifles raised, shouting in multiple languages. Serena caught Spanish, Russian, and something that might have been Greek. It didn’t matter. The message was clear. “Shoot to kill.”More bullets were fired, relentlessly. Marco and Serena fired back, while dodging their bullets expertly. And Marco, despite the chaos, noticed and noted Serena's fierce stance, her intense focus and deadly firing
