Chapter 21

On a rainy morning after the storm, the Stewart Building loomed large and silent in the hazy dawn light. Alicia stood across the street in a coffee shop, gazing at the familiar structure through the glass window. Her blonde hair was pulled back into a messy ponytail, and she wore plain jeans and a dark jacket, trying to look inconspicuous.

The coffee shop was filled with the rich aroma of coffee, and early commuters hurried in and out, paying no attention to the young woman in the corner who seemed so ordinary. Alicia took a small sip of her cappuccino, the bitter taste causing her to slightly frown.

Her gaze swept over every corner of the building, searching for any possible surveillance. The sudden attack that separated her from the ghosts and Nova had left her needing to reconnect with her allies.
