How casually her parents accepted her as if they had not wrecked her emotionally only a while back. Aslan thought, smirking.

Their girl was missing for almost two years and they never cared. They had even said “Good riddance” to her earlier and now they were apologizing and pleading. But he saw how she was happy. Happy to be around people who were toxic for her, but if this is what she wants, then that’s what he will give her.

Her father was so disturbed that Aslan felt bad for the old man, but he had hurt Elena too. He was a heart patient and Aslan didn’t want his death on his own head.
