“Missed me already?”

Adrian’s voice cut clean through, low, smug, darkly amused.

I scoffed, dragging my gaze from the empty skyline outside my window. The city lights flickered like temptations I didn’t need tonight.

“It’s been three days, Adrian. Where the fuck are you?”

I kept my tone level, even as irritation—no, something hotter—stirred in my gut.

“I checked with HR. You’re not assigned to any projects, have no meetings, and have no business trips. So again, where the hell are you?”

He chuckled from the other end, a slow, masculine sound laced with mockery and something heavier beneath.

“Already sounding like a wife. Should I be flattered or scared, Sunshine?”

I pulled the phone away from my ear, breathed once, then brought it back.

“Just tell me when you're coming back.”

“Mm,” he mused. “That depends. Which version of me do you miss more? The man you’re using… or the one who’s going to fuck an heir into you?”

ALPHA LUMIERA grin carved its way onto my face as the full view of the Steinhart mansion emerged through the trees. Grand. Regal. Expensive. Exactly the kind of place fools think will protect them.I leaned back against the door of the armored truck, pulling a cigar from my pocket. The flame danced on the tip as I lit it, inhaling the thick burn before exhaling toward the Nairobi sky. This was too easy.“I stayed back for a reason,” I muttered under my breath. “Let Gregory enjoy the glory of Mount Kenya—I prefer something more… intimate.”Danny, my scout, crept closer, lifting his binoculars.“How is it?” I asked.“Five Alphas patrolling. Fifteen guards. She’s in the living room. Front left corner. Curtains are drawn but she hasn’t moved in minutes. Looks like she’s alone in there.” He lowered his binoculars. “They’re not expecting anything.”I chuckled darkly.“Knew they’d leave her behind—overconfident little bastards.”I turned to the truck behind me. Inside, a dozen of my finest

VANGUARD BALPHA MAXWELLThe ringing in my ears intensified—like screaming metal inside my skull. I groaned, every muscle seizing, the sharp sting of blood pooling somewhere near my brow. My vision was off. My body ached. We had walked right into a trap.Pitch-black smoke rose from the collapsed ridge behind me. A pit had opened beneath us, and some of our squad didn’t make it out.“Max…”Her voice was soft. Abby.I scrambled over the rubble—my eyes caught the outline of her body sprawled against a boulder, snow smeared crimson around her. Her right hand… was gone. Just a torn, burning stump.“Abby!” I gasped, tearing off my shirt. My hands were shaking as I wrapped the cloth around what was left of her arm, tying it tight. “Hold on! You hear me? You’re going to be okay—”Her breathing was ragged, her face ashen.“You… need to leave me,” she whispered, “I can’t… I’ve lost too much blood…”“Shut up,” I snapped, eyes burning. “Save your strength. Focus on healing, don’t dare give up.”B

THE CRIMSON PACKTHE GOTHIC LUNAShots rang out like angry thundercracks in the distance. Chaos—wild, feral—was fast approaching, and with it, death stirred in the frozen wind.“They are finally here!” Liroy snarled, tightening his grip on the trembling girl he dragged forward. The virgin human. The other—the virgin wolf—knelt beside her, wide-eyed and dazed. The prophecy hadn’t specified which virgin the Megetsune required.How... amusing."Shall we begin?" hissed the creature beside me, its voice bubbling with bile. Black fluid dripped from its cracked lips, and with it, obsidian scales unfurled from his neck like rotting armor. The air turned foul, heavy with rot and old blood. Before I could respond, a shattering explosion split the silence—ice and smoke flaring into the night sky like a scream. From the shattered ground, three shadows emerged—no, they marched through the blast, their auras undeniable.Luke of Moonclaw, steel-eyed and deadly calm.Alden of Moonhart, the silent bru

THE CRIMSON PACKAlpha Jorge – Mount Kenya Expenditure MissionWe arrived just past dawn. The sky was a cracked sheet of ash-grey, the wind sharp with the bite of altitude. Mount Kenya loomed like an ancient god—unmoving, cold, and unforgiving. At the foot of the trail, I raised my hand.“Fifteen of you will stay back,” I ordered sharply, my voice cutting through the thin air like a blade. “Place yourselves as we planned. Flank the three known entry points and wait for the signal. When they arrive, don't engage unless I give the call. They’ll have a plan too—be smarter than them.”No one spoke. They just nodded and faded into the fog like phantoms. The rest of us moved swiftly, not running but gliding over the rocks like shadows trained for war. Within minutes, we reached what he called the door to hell. And there he was.Leaning casually against a jagged rock wall, like this was just another morning hike. Human skin draped over his form—early thirties, white, blond hair that shimmere

The air was thin—unwelcoming—and everything felt still. Too still. Only the whisper of crickets, the distant hoot of a mountain owl, and the crunch of our boots against gravel accompanied our descent. The silence wasn’t just quiet—it was dead. Hollow. As if the mountain itself held its breath.A shiver—part cold, part dread—ran down my spine. We had arrived. This was the edge. The line between civilization and the mouth of hell. SYRA“No way, Syra,” Adrian says, blocking the hallway like a stubborn wall in a black shirt and rolled-up sleeves. His jaw is locked, brows furrowed like he was about to scold a toddler. “You are not joining the expedition.”“What the hell, Adrian!” I bark back, slapping my hand to my chest. “I’m not a porcelain doll—I’m stronger now. I can handle it!”“She’s right, man,” Oliver chimes from the couch, his voice raspy but composed. He was half-wrapped in a blanket, the color still not fully returned to his cheeks. His condition had slowed him, but his eyes were sharper than ever. “Much as I hate to admit it, her abilities are exactly what we’ll need out there.”“Exactly,” I nod, throwing a pointed look at Adrian, who looks two seconds away from blowing a fuse.“Yeah, cousin,” Phil adds, walking in like she owns the entire living room, her heels clacking against the tiles. She places a coffee mug in front of Oliver and casually plops onto the armrest. **“She’s not just the ace—she’s th
