Aurelia’s POV

For a moment, there was nothing. No sound. No ground beneath my feet. No Lucien.

Only light. It swallowed everything around me until I couldn’t tell if my eyes were open or closed. I reached for Lucien but my fingers found nothing.

I felt dread creeped up inside me.

“Luc!”

My own voice sounded distant, almost as if I were screaming underwater. Panic clawed through my chest. I tried again.

“Lucien!”

Something grabbed my hand. It was warm and familar. The sparks followed like a tida

Aurelia’s POVThe doors exploded inward.Stone shattered across the chamber as dozens of figures poured through the opening. For one frozen second, nobody moved. I don’t know if they were too shocked or if they were anticipating what would happen. Then suddenly, everything happened at once.“Protect Lady Lia!”Julian’s voice thundered through the chamber. The guards moved instantly, forming a wall between me and the attackers. Swords collided. Arrows flew. The chamber filled with the metallic sound of weapons striking against one another. They could have shifted but because of the fragile structure of the chamber, their wolves wouldn’t be able to move properly. Lucien pulled me behind him.“Stay close.”I gripped his hand. “I can fight.”“I know.” His eyes met mine. “That doesn’t mean I want you in the middle of this.”Before I could answer, a blade came toward us. Lucien blocked it effortlessly. The impact sent a sharp sound through the chamber. He twisted, kicked the attacker backw

It made me almost cry from the relief.“I’m here.” His fingers tightened around mine.“Don’t let go.” My lips shook but I forced my voice to sound firm.“I won’t.”The light became brighter. It was blinding that I had to shut my eyes tightly. Then—Everything went black. Before I know it, I hit the ground hard. Pain shot through my shoulder like a huge blow. I gasped and rolled onto my side,

The Last BloodlineAurelia’s POVMoonstone Forest looked different at night. Or perhaps I was the one who had changed in such a short period of time. The last time I had walked beneath these trees, I had been searching for answers, but tonight, I knew someone else was searching for me.The thought followed me with every step. My boots pressed against the damp earth as Lucien walked beside me, his presence steady enough to keep my thoughts from spiraling.Julian and four of the guards followed several paces behind us.No one spoke. The forest was too quiet, but not a peaceful kind of quiet. It was as if someone was watching.I glanced between the trees. Something about the silence bothered me.Moonstone Forest had always felt strange to me, but tonight the feeling was different. Almost familiar as if some forgotten part of me recognized where I was.“You’re doing it again.”I glanced at Lucien.“Doing what?”“Looking at the trees like they’re about to answer you.”I almost smiled. “Ma

Hide and SeekAurelia’s POVThe pendant was still on the table when I woke. It lay there like an innocent yet dangerous reminder of the truth that was still yet to unfold. For several seconds, I simply stared at it. It looked harmless. Just a piece of silver hanging from a thin chain, yet I couldn’t forget what it had done the night before. Two pulses. Two brief flashes of light as if something inside it had been trying to get my attention.I sat up slowly. Beside me, Lucien was still asleep. His breathing was even, his face relaxed in a way I rarely saw when he was awake. There was something almost unfair about how peaceful he looked. After everything that had happened, I envied him for it, yet, there was something inside me that melted as I stared at his beautiful face. He looked so content…beside me. With me.I reached for the pendant. The instant my fingers touched the silver, warmth spread through my palm.I froze but the warmth disappeared just as quickly. My eyes narrowed as I

SearchAurelia’s POVWe stayed in the chamber for several more minutes. Neither Lucien nor Julian seemed willing to speak first.I couldn’t blame them.My fingers were still wrapped around the pendant, the silver metal resting heavily against my palm despite how small it was.Aurelia.My name. Or perhaps the first thing about me that had ever truly belonged to someone before Alfred and Estelle.I looked down at it again, feeling a lump forming in my throat. There were so many things going on in my head. My emotions are all over the place.“Lia.”Lucien’s voice pulled me from my thoughts.I looked up and saw that he was watching me carefully as if any minute I would suddenly snap.“We should leave.”I glanced around the chamber.Part of me wanted to stay. There were probably hundreds of answers hidden beneath these walls. Maybe thousands. I had spent five years searching for the truth about the attack, about Silas, about why I had been abandoned. And now I have found something far bigg

Aurelia’s POVThe Moonstone Kingdom. The name echoed inside my head.I stared at Lucien, waiting for him to say something else. Anything, but he remained silent. His fingers were still resting against the silver crest carved into the stone, his eyes fixed on the markings as though he was trying to remember something buried deep within his own mind.I glanced at Julian. He looked just as confused as I felt.“What happened to it?” I finally asked.Lucien’s gaze lifted.“It fell.”“Fell?”“Thirty years ago.” His voice was quiet. “Not gradually, but not peacefully either. The entire kingdom disappeared within a single night.”A shiver traveled down my spine.“What do you mean disappeared?”“No one knows.” Julian stepped closer to the stone. “The records are incomplete. There was no declaration of war. No official announcement. No surviving royal family.”“No one…survived?” I was stunned.Julian shook his head. “The kingdom simply stopped responding to neighboring territories until no one
