Aurelia’s POV

The first thing I noticed when I woke up was the warmth. Not mine, but Lucien’s.

His arm was draped loosely around my waist, his chest pressed against my back, his breathing slow and even against my hair. For several seconds, I didn’t move. I simply stared at the pale morning light slipping through the curtains.

It was strange.

For years, I had trained myself to wake at the smallest sound.

A branch snapping outside. Footsteps approaching. The rustle of leaves. Now, somehow, I

Things Left UnsaidAurelia’s POVBy the fourth day after waking, I had grown tired of looking at the same four walls. The healers insisted I was recovering well, but their definition of well apparently meant being able to sit upright for longer than an hour without becoming exhausted.I disagreed.“I can walk,” I told Julien. She looked at me as though I had just announced my intention to climb the highest mountain in the kingdom.“You can barely make it from your bed to that chair.”“That is because you keep telling me to sit down.”“Because you keep trying to do things you shouldn’t!”I gave her a look. She crossed her arms. “Don’t look at me like that. I am not going to be responsible for explaining to Caelan why his recovering little sister decided to collapse on the floor.”“I won’t collapse.”“You said that yesterday.”“And I didn’t.”“You nearly did.”I shook my head and sighed.Eventually, after much complaining and a promise that I would behave, Julien helped me out of bed. DistanceAurelia’s POVThe first thing I learned after waking was that even the smallest movements could be exhausting.Lifting my hand, turning my head, or simply trying to sit up required more effort than I wanted to admit. My body felt unfamiliar, as though I had been away from it for so long that I needed to learn how to live inside it again. The healers insisted I take things slowly. Julien, on the other hand, seemed determined to make sure I never had a quiet moment.“You cannot possibly expect me to believe that you slept for two months and still managed to wake up looking prettier than me.”I glanced at her from my pillow. “You’re jealous of someone who can barely sit up?”“Extremely.” She pulled her chair closer to my bed. “I’ve been taking care of myself, getting enough sleep, eating properly, and doing everything a responsible person should do. And yet, here you are, waking up after two months and stealing all the attention.”A laugh escaped me, though it turned into a smal

AwakeAurelia’s POV“Lia?”Juliene’s voice sounded different this time.I could hear the uncertainty in it, the way she seemed afraid to believe what she had just felt. Her fingers tightened around mine.“Lia, can you hear me?”I wanted to answer. I tried. But my body felt impossibly heavy, as though I were still buried beneath the darkness I had spent so long fighting to escape.I gathered what little strength I had and tried to move again. My finger shifted against her palm. A sharp breath escaped her.“Oh, Goddess.” The chair scraped against the floor. “Lia?” Her voice trembled. I could hear her moving closer, but I couldn’t bring myself to open my eyes. “Please. Please tell me I didn’t imagine that.”I wanted to reassure her. I wanted to tell her I was here. But all I could manage was another faint movement. That was enough.“HEALER!”Her sudden shout startled me, or at least I thought it did. A moment later, hurried footsteps sounded outside the room.“What’s wrong?” someone aske

Two Months of SilenceAurelia’s POV I threw myself toward the light. For one fleeting moment, I felt weightless. Then everything hurts. It was as though something had seized me and dragged me through an impossibly narrow passage. I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t move. The light swallowed me whole, and the voices I had left behind faded into nothing.I tried to call out, but no sound came.I didn’t know where I was anymore. There was only darkness, and somewhere beyond it, something familiar was calling my name.Aurelia.The voice sounded distant. I wanted to answer. I wanted to tell them I had made it, that I had chosen to return. But I couldn’t.Something was pulling me farther away, and no matter how desperately I tried to reach for it, I couldn’t seem to find my way back._____The first thing I became aware of was warmth. It was faint, almost imperceptible, but it was there.Something soft rested beneath my head. A blanket covered my body, and a strange, uncomfortable pressure seem

Her ReturnAurelia’s POVFor a while, none of us spoke.I sat between my parents, my mother’s hand resting over mine while my father stood nearby. My wolf lay at my feet, her head resting against my knee.It was strange.I had spent so many years wondering where I came from, wondering why there were things about myself that I couldn’t explain. And now, the people who held those answers were sitting right beside me.I should have had a thousand questions. Instead, I found myself reluctant to break the silence. Perhaps because I knew moments like this were not meant to last.My mother was the first to speak.“May I ask you something, darling?”I turned toward her. “Of course.”She studied my face for a moment, almost as though she were trying to memorize it.“What would you miss?” I blinked. “In the living world,” she clarified gently. “What is there that you would miss if you stayed here?”I looked at her, unsure how to answer. My father came to sit on my other side.“You have seen wha

Break ApartJuliene’s POVEverything happened too fast. One moment, we were standing inside that wretched room, staring at Lia’s motionless body. Next, we were rushing through the corridors of Moonstone with healers shouting orders, guards clearing the way, and people scrambling in every direction.I could barely keep up.Lia was carried between two healers, her head falling limply to one side. Her dark hair hung messily around her face, and her skin was so pale that I could hardly recognize her.She looked lifeless.I kept waiting for her to move. For her fingers to twitch, for her eyes to open, for her to make some sarcastic remark about all the fuss we were making over her.But she didn’t. Not once.“Make way!”Someone shouted from ahead, and the healers hurried through a set of double doors. I followed without thinking, nearly stumbling over my own feet.Behind me, Damien was helping Cassian along. Or trying to, at least. He had regained consciousness but he was in a terrible cond
