Aria's POV

“What the hell…?” I whispered in disbelief. “Who the fuck are you?” I asked through my mind.

“I’m Zie, Kiera's wolf, who are you?” She retorted.

“That explains the aggression,” I said. “Well, I’m Aria, and sorry to disappoint you but I didn't do anything to Kiera. I don't even know how I got here myself–”

“Liar!” Zie flared. “You must have done something! Zie was recovering just fine and then you–” she paused, and even though I just met her I could feel her sadness simmering beneath me.

“I’m sorry about Kiera. But I have no idea what happened to her,” I pointed out. “Can you help–” before I could finish, I felt the link shut.

Great.

I sighed in exasperation, and turned on the faucet, just as I was about to pour another water on my face, I heard my name–no, my new name.

“Luna Kiera,” the woman from earlier called out from the room. “Is everything okay in there?”

“Yes,” I replied, and still splashed some water on my face, and that was when I really noticed Kiera's looks aside her red hair and green eyes. She had a cute oval face, and really cute dimples. “What happened to you Kiera?” I asked through the mirror. “And where are you?”

I wasn't exactly expecting a response, but I just stared at the reflection in the mirror for a while until I heard someone clearing their throats behind me.

“I said everything is fine,” I said irritatedly.

She remained silent and just stared at me as if I suddenly grew a second head.

“What?”

She narrowed her eyes. “Do you know where you are?” she asked.

“Yes. My room.”

She still wasn't convinced, as her brows were still knitted. “And do you know who just walked in?”

I frowned. "That was Jaxon, my mate and the alpha of this pack,” I answered, even though I've only just learnt about this. “Now can you stop treating me like someone with amnesia?”

She sighed, her brows settling slightly.

We walked back to my room, and she led me to the bed, and checked on me.

“Everything seems fine, you just need to rest for a few more days.”

I nodded in response, and without another word she walked out of the room.

“Zie,” I tried reaching out to Kiera's wolf, but instead I was met with silence.

And then..

“Aria.”

“What the..?” I shot to my feet, a sharp pain piercing through my side. “Lyra?” I breathed out through gritted teeth. “How’s this possible?”

“I should be asking you that?” Lyra said. “How is it possible that we're still alive?”

“I don't know, but–”

“Wait a sec,” Lyra cut in. “Why do I feel someone else's presence in–”

“Who the fuck are you?” Zie growled within me, her question obviously thrown at Lyra.

“Who the fuck are you too?” Lyra shot back, and the next minute they were both hurling insults at each other.

Lyra wasn't one to back down from a fight, I knew that first hand, but Zie? She was something else entirely.

She refused to back down either as they both accused each other of black magic.

Their bickering was beginning to get on my nerves, as it was leading to a headache and soon after it felt like my head was being stomped on.

“Can you both just be quiet!” I yelled out, not minding to talk to them through the mindlink. “I really need to think here, not this,” I gritted out, and gently massaged my temples.

I exhaled sharply as the room was becoming suffocating and as if it was closing in on me.

They both kept quiet, and I could feel them both trying to gauge my reaction.

This doesn't make sense. None of it does.

For starters, I should be dead. The last thing I remembered was the smell of my burning flesh and now I am magically in someone else's body, with not just one wolf, but two!

I’m either going crazy, or this is just a really terrible dream. But whichever the case maybe I wasn't in the right frame of mind to figure anything out.

I needed to clear my head, and some fresh air might help.

I made my way out of the room, and took a left turn, walking around aimlessly and barely registering my surroundings or the faces that mumbled greetings at me.

Just as I rounded in a corner I ran into something and I groaned as pain seared through my side. Hands reached out and steadied me before I could fall and I looked up to see a set of sparkling blue eyes.

“Luna Kiera. It's so good to see that you're well,” the man whose entire body was rock hard muscles, said to me with a smile. “How are you feeling?”

My brows knitted as I tried figuring out who was standing in front of me. Asking Zie who he was would have been helpful, but it's a terrible idea. She wouldn't help, and opening the mindlink would just leave me vulnerable to their bickering.

I could still feel the bickering faintly, but thanks to shutting the mindlinked it wasn't giving me such a hard time.

“I..uhmm–” I fumbled for words.

He chuckled. “You don't need to–”

“Alex, what's going on there?” A familiar voice boomed from behind me.

Alex looked over my shoulder, his smile faltering slightly but he still managed to keep some of it.

I turned around to see Alpha Jaxon walking towards us, his eyes fixed intently on me making me gulp.

“I was just–”

“Where do you think you're going?” Jaxon asked me, ignoring the man who I've come to learn is Alex completely.

I was taken aback, not by Jaxon’s question, but by the coldness in his gaze and tone.

Did he know I wasn't his mate?

But how? It's just a few hours and..

Could Zie have said something?

I know some wolves can communicate directly with their mate without their human, but still….

Something wasn't right. If he knew I wasn't his mate he should be binding me in silver chains and demanding answers.

But he's not. That means he doesn't know…. yet.

“I asked you a question Keira?” Jaxon's voice pulled me out of my thoughts.

“I just need some fresh air,” I replied, managing to keep my voice still.

Jaxon looked over at Alex who was still standing there and then back at me, the coldness in his eyes still sharp as ever, which sent a chill down my spine.

Okay, something is definitely wrong.

I don't know the details of Jaxon's relationship with Kiera, but he doesn't look like someone who's relief that he's mate just woke up from a coma induced by poisoning

Any sensible mate should be worried…

I scoffed inwardly, as I remembered Curtis.

A bitter smile made its way to my lips, but beneath that was pure unadulterated rage.

I have no idea what's going on in my life at the moment, but if my guess is right, I've been given a second chance at life…and a chance to make Curtis, and that bitch pay for their deeds.

I just need to figure out where I was at the moment.

I did a quick scan of my surroundings, and then I saw it–a star like cross insignia on the wall.

Starcross. I was in Starcross pack. Moonclaw’s sworn enemies, and the fun part? I was the Pack's Luna.

My lips curled into a predatory smile.

Fate’s indeed a bitch.

Aria’s POVOf all the things she could ask me to do to prove myself, she wants me to shift?I should be relieved at her request, because she’s literally giving me an easy way out. But I’m not. Not when Dianne was looking at me like shifting was going to expose some deep dark secret she and Keira shared. And I’m sure this has to do with the soul sisters stuff she was talking about between Zie, and Sia whom I suspect to be Dianne’s wolf.I tried reaching out to Zie again, but nothing,Same. Damn. Wall.I accepted my fate, and was about to tell Dianne the truth, when Zie suddenly showed up.“Aria,” she called out in what sounded like relief, but I was angry. So angry that if I could, I’d shut her off for good! “Have you had your fill of this shit show?” I asked bitterly.“I’ll answer that later,” she responded dismissively, and never in my entire life have I felt such a great urge to smack someone hard across the face. What does she mean by she’ll answer that later? Is all this a joke

Aria’s POV“Dianne?” I called out quietly, as I noticed a tear streak on her face. She’s been crying. “Are you alright?”Dianne didn’t answer my question immediately, as her gaze went straight to Isabella who was standing beside me.“Hi Dianne,” Isabella said, but Dianne ignored her, turning her attention back to me.I could tell something was going on between them both.“Keira, we need to talk,” Dianne said, her eyes holding a thousand emotions.“Sure,” I said, and Dianne stepped aside so I could enter.I moved past her, but the moment Isabella tried to follow, Dianne blocked her part.“Alone,” Dianne said firmly, leaving no room for arguments.Another confirmation that they aren’t fans of each other.“Oh…of course,” Isabella said lightly, then looked at me. “If you need me, you know where to find me.”Once Isabella’s receding footsteps could no longer be heard, Dianne shut the door. She pressed her forehead against the door for a second as though bracing herself.“Dianne?” I walked

Aria’s POVIsabella. What was she doing here in the middle of the night?Does she also live in the Pack house?I thought it was only the Alpha, Beta, and Gamma’s that stayed here. She isn’t a Beta, nor a Gamma, so, why is she here?I made my way over to where she was, completely lost in thoughts, tapping her feet on the floor impatiently.“Isabella?” I called out.She froze. Like a deer caught in headlight, the moment she saw me.“Keira!” She exclaimed, with wide eyes. “What are you doing here?”“I should be asking you that?” I threw the question at her.She chuckled, but I didn’t miss as her eyes darted around, as if expecting someone.“I couldn’t sleep,” she explained. “Came down for a glass of water.”“You sleep fully clothed?” I asked, narrowing my eyes slightly.I gave her a once over. She was fully dressed–jeans, sweater, and boots.“I also went for a walk,” She added, and I just nodded, not believing a word she said. Isabella bid me goodnight, and climbed up the stairs, and th

Aria‘s POVThe sound of angry voices was the first thing I heard when my eyes snapped open. I tried making sense of what's happening–who’s voices were those, and what was happening. And that was when I noticed my hands were tied behind my back, and I was on my knees.I looked around me, and all I could see were silhouettes of people surrounding me.I squinted my eyes in confusion, trying to make out the faces of everyone around me, who seemed both familiar and distant at the same time.Slowly, like a badly filmed movie, their faces became clearer, at the same time as the words they were chanting became much more clear.“Kill her!”“Kill the traitor!”“Burn her at the stakes!”The more the words echoed, the more the fog of confusion covering my mind cleared up.Their words and everything became painfully familiar–I was right back at the same night I was killed.“Keira Longhart,” a familiar voice called out coldly.Keira? Did they just call me Keira?I whipped my head in the direction o

Aria’s POV“Jaxon, stop!” I protested, trying to free my hand from his grip. But it was useless. Totally useless. Jaxon held me firmly so much that it stung.I tried looking behind to see what Alex was doing as I heard the kid moaning in pain, but Jaxon yanked me forward.“We have a meeting to attend.”“What did you ask Alex to do?” I demanded, fearing the worse. “He's just a child!”“You wanted him freed, right?” Jaxon said, not bothering to spare me a glance. “That's what Alex is doing. How he does it isn't of importance.”I parted my lips to respond, but decided against it. His response meant that Alex won't at least kill the kid.Right?Oh, goddess! Let me please be right. We soon arrived at the meeting hall, but Jaxon still didn't let go of my hand, but his grip wasn't as firm as earlier.“Alpha, Luna,” everyone present said I'm unison as we walked in, bowing their heads slightly.Jaxon gave a curt nod, his expression neutral, while I forced a polite smile, and did the same, but

Aria's POVThe rogue kid left before sunrise just like he said he would, but all through the night while he was in my room, I laid stiffly in bed, not daring to sleep even though my eyes were closed. I couldn't risk getting gutted in my sleep. Even though he was just a kid, he was still a rogue, and if there's one thing that's common knowledge to everyone when it comes to rogue, it was the fact that they were highly unpredictable.I managed to finally close my eyes with the few hours I had to sleep, but it still wasn't enough, as I woke up in a grumpy mood from my lack of sleep. If today was just any other day I'd have slept in, but today was Sunday, which meant Council meetings.Ugh! Can the day start off any worse than this?Don’t get me wrong, attending council meetings wasn’t exactly a bad idea, instead it's a great idea. This would help me in getting back at Curtis faster, but goddess, I could really use a couple of hours of sleep.Evelyn had already drawn me a bath, and as I go
