Chapter Sixteen - Raina

Blood coated my body from head to toe. Surrounding me were the dead bodies of five rogues. Those rogues were my first kills but they wouldn’t be my last.

My eight year old body was shaking with the same shock that coated each of their faces. They couldn’t understand how a child shifted into a wolf and tore each and every one of them apart.

Their body parts littered the ground, a canvas painted by me.

No child should have that much blood on their hands.

I tried to warn them but they didn’t listen. Instead, they came closer and closer until I had no choice. They paid for their mistake with their lives.

I hadn’t had this nightmare in years and couldn’t understand why it would present itself after so long. I came to terms with my first kills long ago but tonight was serving as a reminder that this memory would always haunt me.

It reminded me that my innocence was taken way too young.
