“Need help Kimberly?” I offered. I kept my voice low enough the others around wouldn’t hear. While I didn’t like the girl, I wasn’t going to humiliate her even more. She seemed more than capable of doing that herself.

She shot me a menacing glare, like it was somehow my fault she couldn’t get it right. I rolled my eyes at her, but, against my better judgement, took a step closer.

“Listen, I’m not trying to be an asshole. I just want to offer you some help but only if you want it.”

Her honey blonde hair was plastered to her sweaty skin, messily sticking out of her ponytail. Her make up covered face was red from exertion and mascara was smeared under her eyes. For the first time since I met her, she didn’t look perfect.

“Why would I accept help from you?” she sneered, baring her teeth. “You have no wolf yet you think you’re better than everyone because you can do a couple tricks. You belong at the carnival, not in this pack.”
