Carrie POV My heart stopped beating. And then it was racing. What did he mean he knew? He had known all along that I was running from my chosen mate. “What did you say?” I whisper. Jackson POV I sit there lightly rubbing my mate’s arm as fire rages within me. My mate has suffered. Immense loss and I was not there to protect her. I would protect her from now on, but it would never change her past. It would never replace the darkness in her eyes. Wanting them to be with me. “Luna, they are safe at the hospital. We need to get you to the safe room so we can go help the others,” a distressed warrior says to me. Realizing I was causing more problems, I allowed the warriors to guide me down the halls and then down to the basement. I started to feel a higher level of anxiety as it felt like being dragged to the dungeon. As I started to waiver, the warrior tossed me over his shoulder, “Sorry, Luna,” he mutters as the other warrior moves ahead putting in a code to open the safe room. He gently puts me down inside the room moving to leave me alone. “Wait! How will I get out?” I demand feeling nauseous
