LOGIN"Alpha Dylan, Alpha Leonardo," Kaia, their second in command, bowed as she sashayed into their glass office with a huge pile of files in hand, her heels clinking as she walked across the tiled floor.
She huffed and plopped down on the couch with her hands crossed over her curvaceous breast, exposing more of her cleavage under her white button-up shirt, her legs crossed over each other in a natural but seductive pose. Her head lolled to the back as she let out a sigh of relief.
"Fuck! When are you two going to get a secretary? It's stressful working as your Beta and secretary," she complained with a pout "I have to handle your office work and also the Pack work. I don't even have enough time to date, swears my scumbus side is starving for days!" she whined as she felt the growing need in her body for a release.
"Did you find any clue about where it is?" Dylan asked, his voice monotonous and strict, mirroring his expression as he gave Kaia a cold stare before returning to his work on the monitor.
Kaia shivered and sat straight, her impishness disappeared as she realised Dylan, the more playful of the two, was in a sore mood. She dared not look over to the other side where Leonardo's table was, afraid she'd wet her pants in fear, not like it was the first time that would happen.
Sometimes she wondered how she had grown and been assigned to be their second in command. Both of them terrify her.
"We couldn't find anything about its recent activities, the energy detection device has not caught any signal from it, there were traces of it here in Norway after Ruby's disappearance but we couldn't find its specific location in time before it finally disappeared three years ago," Kaia reported calmly as she separated the files according to the latest information.
"At first we thought the device was malfunctioning as there was no way the energy could just disappear so we asked for a repair and a service and then we found out nothing was wrong with the device, the energy just disappeared," she added
"Keep looking," Dylan ordered. "The blood moon is drawing close and we need to find it before then," he added before dismissing her without looking up from his work.
"Excuse me Alpha," Kaia called, Dylan lifted his eyes from the monitor and his Purple eyes stared back into her soul sending cold arrows to her spine.
Her knees went weak and her hands trembled in fear. Cold sweat trickled down her back in waves and her wolf quivered in submission inside her.
Submission to the real Alpha.
'Fuck! It wasn't Dylan in control,' she mumbled.
She hadn't noticed it before as she was busy staring at the ceiling.
Dexter was.
Dexter, Dylan's wolf, was the real Alpha amongst all four of them. Dylan, Leonardo, Jace and Dexter.
Contrary to its human's friendly and playful attitude, Dexter hates any type and form of disrespect and disorderliness, both of which she had showcased a few minutes ago.
She felt her soul tremble as his stare got deeper, colder and impatient
"If you have nothing else to say, you are dismissed Kaia," Dexter's deep voice echoed as he turned back to his work.
"The art piece Alpha Dylan ordered is here, where should it be hung?" She asked with a shaky voice.
"In the dumpster, he'd pick it up when he is in control. I hate the smell of paint. Now leave, your presence here is a hindrance to productivity and you can go find something to do with that sinful aura around you?"
Kaia rushed out, her heart in her throat as closed the glass door behind her, she walked away from the glass office to a corner where she couldn't be seen before letting out a deep sigh of relief.
"Alpha Dexter is as terrifying as always. It's not a full moon yet why was he in control? Hmph, whose fault was it that I haven't fed my succubus lately?" she huffed and pointed her middle fingers towards the direction of the glass office.
Back in the office, Leonardo stood up trotting to the coffee table where the files were placed, he picked one and began looking through it.
"If you want your mate so badly why don't you just drive down to her house? Letting out your irritation on poor Kaia is just not fair, Dexter."
"Whose fault is it that I can't go to her?" Dexter bites back angrily, glaring daggers at the amused Leonardo.
"Not mine," Leonardo shrugged, picking another file to read before continuing with the conversation. "On the other hand, why do you think we couldn't feel the energy anymore? Did someone possess it already?"
"Even if it was possessed by someone, its energy wouldn't disappear just like that. Have your trackers been able to locate Ruby? If we want any information about its location we need to find the person it was last seen with," Dexter replied.
Massaging his nose bridge, Leonard rests his butt on Dylan's table. "She disappeared on a plane to Switzerland from here in Norway and no traces of her have been seen since then. It was also around this time that 'it' disappeared here in Norway. I think there is a connection between the two. I just can't pinpoint what it is. I've asked my men to keep looking for information about the occurrence in the Halton family that year, while also keeping an eye out in case Ruby contacted them," he explained, fatigue daubing his voice.
"Do you think it's a coincidence that Eric's last daughter is mated to both of us?" Leonardo suddenly asked after a long stretched comfortable silence.
"I don't know. It's not rare for twin wolves to be mated to a single person. Do you think it's weird she's mated to us both?"
"No."
'But my intuition is telling there is more to it,' he wanted to add but swallowed back as he went back into looking at the files.
Amanda shrunk in on herself as she heard Gina's words. Tears streamed down her face like a broken dam, and her body trembled from fear. She felt the walls closing in on her as Gina began to pace back and forth in the small office. Every time the punk-haired woman paced back and forth, she would stop and glare at Amanda with hatred before resuming her pacing once again."What do they want with Hazel? She is not Ruby, and she doesn't know what happened back then either! If she hadn't met Alpha Leonardo when she did, she'd still be in the dark about the whole thing. They can't make her pay for a crime she didn't commit!" Amanda choked out, and Gina scowled."You think people care? They want someone to be responsible for what happened back then, and your Hazel just happened to be a convenient choice," Gina voiced out with an exasperated groan."Please, I don't want anything to happen to Hazel! She's innocent and pure; she doesn't deserve to go through all these troubles!" Amanda begged."
Gina moved back as she saw the scene before her. She looked around to see who had taken out Kaia and her subordinates without her feeling their presence or hearing any movement from them."Sorry for making you see such an unsightly scene. My name is Gaius, and I’m an Asha. We have been after this group for a while now," a man dressed in a robe said as he walked out of the shadow while holding several tiny needles. As Gina saw him, all her senses went numb, and fear gripped her soul from the powers oozing all around the man.The man smiled at her, but she quickly noticed his smile did not reach his eyes—it was full of malice, making Gina feel suspicious."Why are the Ashas after them? Aren't they council members?" Gina asked."The news should not have reached your ears since the supreme Alphas are trying not to make it public, but the royal Beta has betrayed the supreme Alphas and has sided with the enemies. We have been on the lookout for her for a while now, and once we got the tip t
As Gina walked out of the restaurant, she lit up a stick of cigarette and let out a puff of smoke."Tch, those motherfuckers only remember they have a sister when they need help! I need to exchange that for money or at least something more useful to me," she gritted out angrily as she picked up her phone to make a call. After the second ring, Dylan picked up. "It's been ages, Gina. We've missed you," Dylan greeted, and Gina rolled her eyes in annoyance."You two know where to find me if you miss me, dumbass. What's with the lady you sent my way? Who is after her, humans or our kind?" Gina asked, going straight to the point while Dylan chuckled."You are always so direct; it hurts. Anyway, King and his men are the people after her. Her daughter is our mate, and they want her," he explained, and Gina cursed at him."You already have a mate, and I'm just hearing about it? You fucktard? Put your brother on the phone; let me curse at you two!" she growled.Dylan looked at Leonardo, who had
"How is she now? Has she calmed down a bit?" Leonardo asked as Dylan walked out of Hazel's room with a crease in his brow."She's asleep; she should feel better when she wakes up," Dylan replied."I'm feeling it was not necessary that we tell her that. We probably should have kept the whole thing away from her until it is solved. Knowing she'll feel responsible for the girls, she would want to make amends," Leonardo muttered as his eyes darted worriedly toward Hazel's closed doors."She'd even be more upset if we kept it from her and she later finds out. It's done anyway. We just have to keep an eye on her and make sure she doesn't do anything out of line for now." Dylan shrugged."I sent some people to search the Halton house, but I'm sure he won't be keeping anything important there, which means we have to go to his office to search. I honestly don't know what I'm hoping to see. At least for the sake of Hazel, I'm hoping he'd be innocent in all this," Dylan voiced as they walked awa
"I have thought about it, and I'm interested!" Hazel announced, and Dylan choked on the water he was drinking."Are you trying to kill me, princess?" He coughed, and she smiled apologetically."What did you think about?" Leonardo asked with an expressionless face."I thought about what we talked about last night, you know? The sex and awakening thing. I'm interested," Hazel replied with a shrug, and Leonardo dropped the papers he was holding to look into her eyes."May I ask what part of what we discussed you thought about? You are making it sound like a business transaction. I'm feeling nervous," he teased with a raised brow, and Hazel flushed in embarrassment."I thought about all of it—I mean, every tiny bit of it, including being yours forever," she whispered, the last part making her heart flutter.Leonardo's lips quivered in amusement as he noticed how embarrassed she was. He chuckled and beckoned her over. "Sit," he ordered while tapping his lap.Hazel paused and looked around
"Let me out! Why did you keep me locked up like this?" Eric demanded while banging on the door with all his strength."Do you think Hazel will still want to be with you when she finds out that you are treating her father like this?" He continued yelling, trying to get someone's attention. Seeing that he was about to go crazy from the deafening silence all around him, Eric became desperate, wanting to be let out.Soon, Dylan pushed the door open with a tray of food in hand. "I heard you've been rejecting the food brought to you, so I brought it myself. We can have breakfast together. What do you think?" He smiled as he placed the food on the floor in front of Eric while sitting directly opposite him.Eric shivered at the sinister smile on Dylan's face, and his tantrum died down. "What do you all want with me? You can't keep me locked up like this! My wife is being held hostage, and if I don't do what they asked me to, they'll kill her! Are you trying to make Hazel motherless?" He begge
