Chapter 26: Never Enough

(Luther)

AFTER getting out of the car, I ran. I don’t remember ever running this fast before. Fear and anxiety were gripping my heart so strongly that it was difficult to breathe. I could feel the sweat building on my forehead and yet, I feel cold inside.

When the butler led me to the mortuary, my hands began trembling.

“I’m sorry, Sir. When we found the madam, it was already too late. When we brought her in this hospital, the doctor declared her dead on arrival,” the butler said in a low voice.

I could still hear his words.
