Chapter 46: Because You Loved Me

AND HE stood still, waiting for my every word when he should be rushing to rest or to get treated. How come that my own pack always seem to struggle listening to my own voice when this human had no problem hearing it? He just kept seeing me for who I was.

In his eyes, I could see my flawed self clearly. But I found acceptance with the way he looked at me. I found beauty in things that others would normally regard as ugly or scary.

“Go on, darling. What do you want to tell me?”

I cleared my throat. And gradually, I could feel my eyes changing back to normal. “You know I was with my pack, with my friends, with people I call home, and I still thought I should be somewhere else. That I should be with you.”

His eyes widened.

“You won, Luther. This doesn’t make sense even to me but I can’t deny this any longer. I have fallen in love with you,” I said and held his cheeks.

So, this was what it meant to fall in love. It stresses you out. It makes your heart leap out of your chest from worry. I
