I placed my cutlery down on my empty plate and reached for the glass of wine that sat beside it. I tossed from side to side on my bed. I pulled the blankets over my head in a bid to cover my ears from the irritating noise. I could still hear it faintly. My eyelids fluttered open, and my hands reached around until I turned on the bedside lamp on the mahogany side table next to my bed frame. The room was neatly arranged and painted purple.
