Danika

When I opened my eyes, I was surprised to see the Lycan King beside my bed.

I nearly gasped but Annika took control of my hand, clamping it over my mouth.

'He's asleep,' she whispered.

Slowly, I sat up, careful not to make a sound. Although, I could already hear my heart thumping loud in my ears.

'Why is he here?' I asked.

I felt Annika shrug.

His scent, mint and fresh rain, filled my room. I felt my body relax with the smell. My eyes travelling to his sleeping face. For the first time since I saw him, he looked more peaceful.

In fact, he looked much more handsome now that he's not frowning or being grumpy at all. I giggled to myself when his eyes snapped open and he looked straight at me.

"What's so funny?" he questioned and straightened his back. His grumpy mode is back, unfortunately.

I quickly dropped my gaze to my lap.

"Oh, nothing your highness," I muttered under my breath, feeling disappointed.
