A smile played on my lips as I did every single one of my chores. They were all staring at me, even throwing side comments about how I have finally gone crazy after all these years but I couldn't help it. 'Why are you so happy?' Annika came foreward. I could feel her curiosity but also something else. My smile widened, scrubbing the last pot of the day. Apparently, this is the last pot I'll be cleaning so I'm happy to do it. 'Danika?' 'Sorry, I was just thinking of where we can go after this.' I giggled inwardly. 'Why? Where are we going?' Kanya, my easy-going wolf, stepped in joining the conversation. She is always cheerful and carefree, even at times like these. She is a lot different from her twin. Today, I might just have reason to share her optimism. 'Far away from here, Kanya. The Alpha is finally going to set us free!' I exclaimed, only in my thoughts. 'What makes you say that?' Annika asked, skeptical. I smile, 'Don't you realize? We are turning 18 this very midnight! It only means one thing.' There's a rule shared among packs, where a member of the lowest rank when turned 18, may be given the option to choose to stay or leave the pack. The Alpha is going to ask us our decision tonight! 'I'm not sure, but I have a bad feeling about this, Danika.' Annika paced in my head. I frowned. 'Why?' 'I just don't feel like that is the reason why he ordered us to his bedroom.' I stopped scrubbing, making other omegas look over at me but I ignored them, instead giving all my attention to my wolves. 'What else would it be?' I furrowed my brows. Apart from that reason, I can't think of any other reason why he would want us in his room. Especially when I turn 18. Kanya gasped. 'Do you think...' Annika nodded. 'He may have some malicious intent.' I dropped the scrub I was holding, freezing completely for a moment before I shook my head and went back to scrubbing. 'No, the Alpha wouldn't. Besides, he has never taken interest in me.' It is true. He ignored me whenever he got the chance. Sometimes I thought he was doing it on purpose. He hates me. Maybe for the same reason everyone in this pack hates me too, for thinking I murdered the former Alpha and Luna. I nodded my head. Right. He will never look at me in that way. No man in this pack has. I doubt that would be the case with the Alpha. 'Fine,' Annika sighed, but I could tell he is still worried. 'But be careful.' She warned with a foreboding tone in her voice before she disappeared once again to the back of my head, hiding her scent. 'Don't worry. Annika is just worried. We will be here if something happens.' Kanya assured me quite enthusiastically. It is something I love about her, but that us not to say I like her more than Annika. They are both my wolves, and I trust them. Her words put a smile on my face and my body relaxed. At least in the comfort of knowing I am not alone in this, and there is actually a huge chance that the Alpha might be letting me go. I can go rogue, live elsewhere. Live the life I always dreamed to have. Just like my parenrs wanted. I quickly finished up and tossed my apron before heading back to my room. I looked on both my sides. Thank Goddess, there is no sign of Linda today. I happily strutted to my room in the attic and thought of packing my clothes. I don't have much, just a few pairs of clothes and a picture of me and my parents when I was a kid. It's the only thing that kept me going. I grabbed my clothes and organized them neatly in my old, small suitcase. In a minute, I was done packing. Moving about my room, I let my eyes wander. The floors, squeaky clean. My bed soft and warm although I had to find my own mattress incthe garbage. The Alpha even arranged my a small bathroom connected to it since I am not allowed to use the pack showers. At the very least, this had been my home for the past couple of years. I should say a proper goodbye to it. My gaze drifted to the mirror, and almost shrieked when I saw my reflection. My hair was unruly, dirt all over my face and my dress is practically made of rags now. Now that I am about to leave, I might as well dress nicely for the road. I walked into the bathroom and turned the tap. There isn't hot water, but I'm used to the cold, anyway. I quickly bathed and changed into a couple of worn out jeans and a shirt, knowing I'd be sweating out. Looking up at the clock, I see that it is almost midnight, just before his voice booms in my head. "Remember. Midnight." He reminded me, and I found myself smiling a silly smile. How could he think I'll forget the day I can finally leave this pack. I shrugged. Grabbing my suitcase, I dash towards the door. Only a few minutes left! I stopped, looking over my shoulder, and whispering goodbye to my room and this place. This is it. I'm finally going to be set free. I'll be free and far away from this pack! The moment I knocked on his door, the door pushed open as if he'd been waiting for me. I gulped, feeling nervous as I stepped inside and saw him sitting in his desk, his back to me when I noticed something that made me stop in my tracks. No... No, no, no... Sandalwood and mint. It struck me like a bolt of lightning cracked open the bluest sky, turning it dark as a massive storm loomed directly ahead. And he was that dark storm. "Mate." He whispered, turning his chair and our eyes collide.Silas' POVI grunt, panting as I thrust in and out of the beautiful woman on my bed. She is one of the best candidates but I would say she is the best. I am sure she would be my luna, so why wait? I thought, flipping her over and spilling me juices into her sweet little p*ssy."F*ck, baby, you're so good." I compliment, and she hums in respone. For some weird reason she only responds that way during sex. I always hit her in the back so I couldn't see the expression she makes every time I thrust, but I would like to see it now.I flip her on her back and begin pounding her wet, tight p*ssy, but when I look up, my face falls at the look on her face. She looks disgusted and bored to the point that it made her face turn green."Perry, what's wrong baby?" I ask in concern but she only shakes her head and stand up."I'm going to go get cleaned up," she mutters, and my heart fills with a sadness I can't explain.I sigh and move to take the shower next room. She doesn't like it when I invite
Danika's POVI told elder Nora everything that happened since I disappeared. Meeting the with coven owned by hybrid wolves, meeting Jonah and saving him from his darkness, and now Stephanie. I haven't told her about the part about the implant, however. I can't really trust her with that information. "Thank you for telling me, Danika. I assure you no harm will come to them," she assures me, and I nod sighing in relief. "But," she pauses, causing me to shoot my eyes to her. She looks conflicted."I need to discuss this with the council. If they find that strigois can be subdued and saved to the point they regain consciousness and humanity, we might be able to stop a war." she says, her soft expression now serious.I gulp and nod my head, looking over my shoulder to see a sleeping Stephanie on my bed."I will have someone prepare a room for her if you -""No," I say, and shake my head. "She stays with me."Elder Nora nods in understanding and bids me goodnight. Well, in fact, morning, b
Danika's POV:With Liam as an escort, we did not have any difficulties entering the border. I reveive a few scoffs by people here and there, curious gazes, and sneers of judgement among others. I let them roll off my shoulders like water on duck's feather. A few, though, have interesting expressions as they eye both men strapped to my sides. They are acting like my body guards, which I appreciate but would prefer they don't. Adeera's spell is mostly wearing off and I could feel more and more like myself now.More than that, his scent is strong from all the way here. My heart is pumping hard and fast I couldn't breathe. I feel a large hand squeeze my shoulder. Looking up to see my father giving me a small smile."That panicked look must mean something. Is he here?" he asks, a knowing look in his eyes. I nod once, and he looks at me as if he understands.Just as Liam reaches the top of the stairs going to the castle's main entrance, the doors burst open and my wolves peer excitedly thr
Danika's POVMy breath leaves my lungs in a broken gasp, staring at him. Liam gasps at the same time and narrows his eyes at him in my peripheral.“I left because your mother and I were bound by an old blood covenant,” he continues. “A familial soul-tie. It made me a threat to you. They would have used me to control you.” he says and as I attempt to comprehend his words, my hands tremble."Control me?" I question. He nods and looks at me sadly."They want to control you like they did your mother. Like you, she is a moon descendant, and the power that comes with it is something most will use to fulfill their own will. I promised her I will never let that happen. Your fate is for no one else to decide. Not by a witch, not even by a goddess. Your fate is yours and yours alone.""How... How did you find us?" I ask, looking between him and Liam.“Well it's who I found first,” he says softly, “I never expected to find you. Well, a part of you, through one of your mates. You life essence he
162 - Explains everything, his father familial bond and tie. Why he left her, why he now came and how he found out. He found his daughter's mate. Liam is all shocked in hearing this, he didn't know the big man was hiding something this big, But somehow he realizes it, the connection he felt to him. He helps her and Liam return to the castle to win the trials, for not only is someone there implanted by the witch hybrids, she is determined to help strigois overcome their darkness.Danika's POV“GET AWAY FROM HER!” a familiar voice roars in the air and I recognize it just as the bond comes alive abruptly. 'Mate.' My wolves whine, their voices weak as their spirits have been suppressed by Adeera.Suddenly, a blast of silver light detonates through the chamber. The chains around me shatter just before I collapse forward, gasping as arms catch me.A man I don't recognize holds me to his chest. My eyes blink slowly, as I try to catch a glimpse of his face. It is blurry, but his sillhouette
Danika's POV:"What do you mean she went off on her own? You had one job, Regina! One!" I hear Adeera's angry voice as I step into the veil. Jonah following right behind me."I'm sorry," comes Regina's soft voice. Right ahead I see Regina, Adeera, Diana, and a few other hybrids gathered at the center, arguing.I walk closer to them, Jonah does the same and I stop when I see a fresh handprint branded onto one side of Regina's face."Regina?" I say worriedly and they all turn to me, eyes widening.Regina quickly ducks her head and murmurs an excuse as she leaves. I am about to go after her but I am stopped by a furious Adeera. Diana walking by her side. As always, her face is indifferent."Where have you been?" Adeera demands. My brows furrow at her demeanor."I figured I could use the time to go for a run, I haven't had one of those in a while." I say, and watch her face turn beet red. Her anger festering. The scowl on her face is new. But it doesn't last long as her face softens and
