LOGINEveryone was silent, then murmurs began to carry through . No one was expecting how what was supposed to be a peaceful mating ceremony turned out to be complicated and full of unexpected revelations. Amidst it all, Noelle’s eyes caught the prince’s own once again.
And she couldn’t help but wonder what this mysterious man was up to this time around.
“Prince Silas,” Alpha Kole called out surprisingly, anger still laced in his tone. “I beg to understand you,”
“I said the girl stays.” Silas repeated.
Noelle was suddenly thrown into a dazed state. This man…was the Lycan prince. The same man who was with her last night at the stream was…
Her breathing hitched. And she had spoken to him casually.
Her eyes narrowed nervously at the impeccable-looking Prince in perfectly-designed suits. Why would he be interested in saving her? No one in the pack ever did, not even her own mother.
“Her courage is admired and I want her.” The Lycan prince said and a shocking ripple coursed through the crowd. Now, Noelle wasn’t finding it funny anymore. He wanted her? If he was a prince then he surely didn’t want her for anything good.
It was probably as a slave and the thought of it irked her, but she was silent as she watched in confusion, now turning towards them.
“Nonsense.” Kole growled. “You want someone who just disrespected me? Your audacity amazes me.”
“She was your mate, but you manipulated and chose her step-sister instead. You amaze me more.” Silas voiced, his tone tinging with power and commanding attention. Kira, who was very embarrassed by the turn out of the event, ran away from the scene to avoid having everyone witness her tears.
“My father has to hear about this” Kole said through gritted teeth and marched out of the celebration room after throwing a deadly glare at Noelle.
Later in the packhouse. Alpha Orion, the Alpha of the pack, was seated on a high-end chair in the large room where council meetings were held, along with his son, the future Alpha, Kole. Prince Silas and his father, King Orion were seated to their right and there was Noelle, who was standing, still dressed in her elegant red dress. The Lycan prince’s eyes were on her and Kole couldn’t help but notice this, his patience was wearing thin.
The room was tense with silence, and Alpha Orion’s voice broke it. “I’m sorry for my son’s behavior. He sometimes behaves like a spoiled child, I should be blamed for that.”
Alpha Orion apologized to the Lycan king- king Nico and his son, prince Silas. The Lycans had been invited for a festival that the Nightshade pack celebrates every year, which happened the previous night. To keep the bond fresh with the Lycan kingdom, Alpha Orion had always invited them. Having the Lycans as friends is like having a whole army backup in case trouble that couldn’t be handled comes the packs way. They were way stronger and vicious than the wolves.
“I didn’t take his childish behavior to heart. Your apology is therefore accepted.” Silas said with a superior tone even though Kole was almost his age. Kole sneered at him but Silas was dismissive, not sparing him his attention.
“I believe you’ve heard of my request to take this Omega with me when I’m leaving, I believe you will grant me that.” Silas said and Alpha Orion who didn’t mind shifted his gaze to Noelle who now had an uncomfortable frown on her face.
“Of course, you can have her, she doesn’t have a choice.” Alpha Orion said, looking ready to dispose her.
“What would you do with her, son? She’s just an Omega, and she looks way too fragile to be any useful in our world.” King Nico who had been silently observing said, eyeing Noelle trivially. Noelle almost scoffed in her bowing state. It was intimidating for her at first being in the presence of four powerful men.
But as they talked about her like she was a material possession to be owned, her resolve broke. And slowly, she raised her head up.
“I’m sorry to interrupt you, but I can’t go with the Lycan prince who I barely know. I think my consent is required since we are talking about me here. I do not mean to sound rude.” Noelle said, surprising the men. Something sparked in Prince Silas’s eyes.
He was deeply intrigued by her boldness while Alpha Orion was shocked at her sudden outburst. No omega had ever dared, they were always viewed as inferior.
“How dare you lend a voice when,…” Alpha Orion was saying but Prince Silas cut him.
“Leave the girl. That was the exact reason I wanted her, because she’s bold.” Prince Silas said and Kole scoffed.
“She’s a feisty one.” King Nico commented, eyes scanning her.
“I’m sorry,” Noelle tendered, slightly conscious of her overly unfiltered mouth. Even though she herself was wondering where she developed such audacity from.
She guessed she had had enough of being talked about lowly by her pack members and everyone else around her. She slowly looked up again, her gaze meeting the prince. Who was looking at her interestingly, head slightly angled to the side.
He hadn’t occurred to her as vicious like she had heard about Lycans. But something about him had danger written all over.
“I apologize on her behalf. I will lock her up if you need me to.” Alpha Orion said, and Silas growled, an act that showed he wasn’t in support of the Alpha’s opinion. Kole stared daggers at him but there was only little he could do. He was still distraught by the chaos Noelle had caused him earlier and he so much wished to punish her.
His common sense told him that for Noelle to have confidently spoiled his mating ceremony, then she must have expected a punishment. Locking her up wouldn’t hurt her, he knew something else that would and that’s what he would do. She had publicly said he wasn’t a suitable partner which was why she hadn’t given him her body. He would show her what the real punishment is. His face morphed to an amused one at his sickening thought, but he recovered before anyone could notice.
“Noelle, would you like to go to Lycorealm with me and marry me?” The Lycan prince’s sudden request had the few royals in the room, including Noelle, looking shocked.
But little did Noelle know that Prince Silas had only used marriage as an excuse to uplift her identity in the pack that had downgraded her- before she would finally leave.
The prince carried Noelle to the clinic, which was near the part of the building they were in. He didn’t know what happened, but the moment she temporarily transformed into a wolf, her pheromones had lured him closer, lingering in the room even after she collapsed. The next thing he knew, he was carrying her to the clinic. Doctor Raphael, the werewolf doctor, was surprised to see the prince carrying a mere outcast into the clinic, which led him to conclude that the girl’s condition must be severe. But after examining her, he was surprised to find that she had only passed out due to extreme stress. There was no life-threatening condition.“She will be fine when she wakes up soon. I’ve injected her with a regeneration serum, and her energy will be restored shortly,” Doctor Raphael informed the prince.“Okay,” Silas replied curtly. “Raphael,” the prince called, and the doctor turned around. “Yes, your highness?”“Don’t tell anyone that I brought her here with my hands,”Raphael dared not
Prince Silas turned his attention to Noelle. “Little Omega, have you forgotten your place easily because you are sitting with the royals?” His tone was nothing short of promising lethality.Noelle’s chest heaved. “She insulted me.”Alec’s lips formed an ‘O’, clearly surprised by the omega's audacity in the presence of Lycan royalty. Princess Selene bit her lower lip in contemplation before swaying her hips over to Noelle. She held out two fingers and tenderly grasped Noelle’s jaw, raising her chin.“Don’t make an enemy out of me, sweetheart. I can be your worst nightmare in this palace, and even my brother won’t be able to save you,” The princess’s voice was as sweet as honey, but the threat it carried made Noelle shudder inwardly.Selene then walked over to her brother and pointed at Noelle. “I don’t like this one. I think she needs another scar from me, this time on her wandering lips,” she said, a devilish smile curling her lips .“Pardon her, sister. The little wolf seems to have
Noelle folded her lips, scared that she might have overstepped her boundaries by the look on his face. Her heart raced- hoping he wouldn’t say anything that would make her regret her words. His eyes narrowed at her, ran over her once. It made her feel so self-aware. She had truly never seen a man as good-looking as this prince before. It only made her too conscious that she almost stepped back.“There is a dinner party in the palace tonight. Be there.” Prince Silas told her, dismissing her earlier question. He turned around without another word and walked out of her room door. She was left dazed. She didn’t even think she had a fancy dinner dress. And she had disposed that red dress Kol gifted her after she deliberately wore it to his mating ceremony. She stared at her small luggage on the floor, feeling too tired to start arranging her things. She drifted off to sleep almost immediately she fell on the bed.Hours went by and now, Noelle was standing in front of the palace’s hall, d
Noelle’s eyes darted to the prince. His eyes were already on her.“You don’t have to” Silas murmured, and Noelle almost considered him but when she glanced around, she realized they had company. Even the great king Ohio was here- watching what was going on.She swallowed. Steadying her racing heart, she decided to take the challenge. She had had enough of being seen as weak in her previous pack. The last thing she needed was giving off a weakling spirit amidst the strongest of wolf kinds.“I will be fine.” She said to Silas and a curious frown suddenly formed on his face as he watched her picking the sword up. She could feel their eyes on her, weighing her, and judging her.Selene stepped forward, a smirk tugging at her lips. “I almost underrated her. Seems she’s down for it.” Selene said to Silas before returning her gaze to her target- Noelle. “Ready?” she taunted, her voice laced with condescension. Noelle swallowed hard, lifting her sword in response. She had practiced with the
“Oh, I’m sorry,” Noelle quickly looked away, her head turning to the left, staring into nothingness. Silas scoffed, finding her awkwardness interesting. He dried off and changed into a blue robe. By the time he was ready to get into bed, Noelle had curled up into a ball on the couch.“You’re sleeping on the bed with me,” He ordered.“What?” Noelle jolted up. “I mean…do I have to sleep on the bed with you?” Her voice trembled. The prince’s expression remained straight as his eyes narrowed at her.“You don’t get to ask me questions, Nora. Get on this bed,” He emphasized, authority lacing his tone.“It’s not Nora, it’s Noelle,” she corrected, unable to hide the displeasure in her tone, but Silas ignored her.“Don’t keep me waiting.” Noelle clutched the purple gown she was wearing in fear and walked to the bed before crawling onto it. She couldn’t believe she was about to get on the same bed as the Lycan prince, and it scared her. She could only hope he wouldn’t be ruthless and force her
“He’s forgiven,” Noelle said, keeping her tone humbled. Then she looked at Prince Silas. Her breath hitched silently.“And I’m deeply thankful to the prince for saving me. I would have said I didn’t deserve his mercy, but I’m sure he’s kind by nature. Thank you, Prince.” She bowed a little.Prince Silas’ lips curved in amusement. “You’re welcome.”Kole was silent now, and the older men said nothing. It was as if they all respected the prince’s decision.Noelle looked up and was startled to see the mysterious calm prince looking directly at her. She shuddered under his cold and unreadable gaze.He looked like sin personified. And again, she was sure the only reason he wanted her was just to prove he could. Maybe it was about Kole and not her- to satiate their pride in being superior to the wolves. But she wouldn’t deny that she had enjoyed every bit of the prince humbling Kole, even though it had scared her because it had seemed like it was all for her.Moments later, Alpha Orion ord
