“Noelle! Come out fast!” Her mother shouted.

Noelle tried regulating her breath before stepping out. Then she walked past her mother’s heavy gaze and faced the temporary visitor.

“Prince Silas asked to see you, Noelle.” Noelle recognized the man to be one of the pack’s messengers. She nodded, her voice low and emotionless, “I’ll be there shortly.” The messenger left, and her mother, Natalie, who had been watching the exchange, finally spoke up, her voice laced with disbelief.

“So it’s true that the Lycan prince is taking you away, and you didn’t think to tell me?” Natalie’s tone was accusatory, but there was a hint of amazement in her eyes. Noelle halted mid-step and turned to face her mother. Her gaze was cold, devoid of the longing that once plagued her heart.

Anytime she saw her mother, she remembered the humiliation she had dragged her through in this pack. The endless errands, recommending Kira for opportunities while making Noelle play house, attending pack parties without her, and physically assaulting her every now and then.

Her tongue colored with distaste at the memory.

“When have you ever cared?” Noelle’s voice was sharp as she retorted.  “I don’t need you to care this time either. It’s too late.” Without another glance, she turned and left the room, leaving her mother standing there, shocked and speechless. As soon as Noelle reached her room, tears that she had held back fell silently, but she quickly wiped them away, steeling herself for what was to come.

Moments later, Noelle found herself at the Alpha’s large house, where the Lycans were being hosted. The tension in the air was palpable as she was directed to a room on the top floor. The grand staircase seemed to stretch endlessly as she climbed, her heart pounding in anticipation. When she finally reached the ornately decorated room, she hesitated at the door. The moment she stepped inside, the door slammed shut behind her, making her nerves jump.

She whirled around to find Kole standing there, his expression dark and menacing. “Kole?” Noelle’s voice was filled with confusion.

The same future Alpha Kole that she had rejected at his own mating ceremony yesterday.

“Yes, me.” Kole sneered, his eyes gleaming with something sinister. “I was the one who called you over. Don’t worry, you will be passed over to him after I’m done turning you into a leftover.” He sneered.

Noelle’s heart sank. “I don’t…understand you. Did you…tell the messengers to lie?” Her voice trembled as she took a step back, her instincts screaming at her to get away from him. It was also bad that she was in a vulnerable state before heading here.

Kole advanced, his expression twisted with rage. “I don’t want you to go with the Lycan prince,” he hissed, his voice laced with jealousy.

Noelle scoffed, anger rising in her chest. “You chose Kira as your mate. I rejected you. You and me have no business speaking to each other again. So what do you want fromme?”

Kole closed the gap between them and gripped her by the arm, tightening it painfully as he pulled her closer. “You’re not going anywhere, Noelle. You belong to this pack, to me! And don’t you dare mention again that you rejected me. You were only being a silly little brat. I spoiled you and I will correct that.”

He smiled sinisterly.

Panic surged through Noelle’s body as she struggled to free herself from his hold. “Let me go, Kole! Are you insane? Why are you even doing this? Let me go!” Her voice rose, filled with both fear and anger. Recently, she had been aware that Kole was capable of evil things. This wasn’t the time to underestimate that.

Kole ignored her protests, his eyes darkening as he leaned in closer, his breath hot against her skin. “You’re mine to do as please, Noelle. Your virginity belongs to me. Now keep your little mouth shut and obey your Alpha.” He whispered huskily, his voice hoarse and filled with lust.

Noelle got it now. It was about his ego. He still wanted to be the one to disvirgin her- especially now that she has humiliated him and the Lycan prince had shown interest in her.

Thick disgust filled her immediately. She tried to push him away, but Kole was stronger. When he attempted to force a kiss on her, she reached up and slapped him hard across the face with all the strength she could muster. The sound echoed in the room, and for a moment, Kole was stunned.

Noelle took the opportunity to dart towards the door, her hands trembling as she fumbled with the knob. But before she could escape, Kole grabbed her by the waist and threw her to the hard marble ground. She winced. “You’re not leaving here the same, weak Omega.” he growled, looming over her as she whimpered in pain.

“Let me go! you are crazy!” She screamed, but her pleas fell on deaf ears as Kole’s hands reached for the neck of her dress, ready to rip it apart. Just then, the door flagged open, making Kole freeze.

And the sight before them made his stomach plummet.

Noelle stood at the center of a stone circle, her grip tight around a wooden sword. Alaina had informed her ahead of today that they would be training with a sword. Her thoughts had been filled with Silas lately, she missed him so much, but Alaina had kept her phone away to make her focus on the training. Being away from him had been torturous, she wondered if he felt the same way too.Alaina approached her from a few paces away. “You have been impressive so far, Noelle,” She said outside the stone circle. “You must learn to fight with your body as much as with your mind. Swordplay will allow you to channel your energy, focus your magic, and bring it to the surface.”Noelle frowned slightly, adjusting her grip on the sword. "I don’t know how fighting with a sword will help me tap into my powers."Alaina's lips curled into a knowing smile. "You'll see soon enough."Just then, the sound of approaching footsteps echoed through the courtyard. Noelle glanced up at the tall figure to see Br

“Why be with a Lycan prince if you can learn from other’s experiences? Or better still, learn from my own?” Alaina said.Noelle’s eyes widened as a thought occurred in her mind. “Wait, is that why I’m here? Did the king want you to talk to me against being with his son?”“Well, that isn’t it. I just care about you.”“Tell me what’s at stake if I go ahead to be with Silas.” Noelle told her. Alaina’s gaze lingered for a moment. “You are a fierce one, you remind of a friend, you have similar attitudes, but she’s late now.” Alaina said but Noelle seemed not to be interested in her friend that she was talking about. Alaina got it, so she went back to answer her question.“Your power is at stake. When I had Bryan, my power became dormant until I performed a ritual to break the curse and stayed away from his father.” Alaina revealed, earning Noelle’s deep attention. She slowly sat back on the bench. “If a ritual can be performed to break the curse then why don’t I perform the said ritual to

“Hi Bryan” Noelle replied, dazed.“You… you are Alaina’s son?”“I would have told you if I knew you would be sent here but I wasn’t informed, so… surprise.” Hegrinned at her. Alaina looked at the two with interest.“You never told me you’ve met a girl like Noellebefore Bryan, are you now keeping things from your mother now?” Alaina expressed with her calm voicethat held elegance and power.“But you just asked if I’ve met her now, did you know?” Bryan teased.“Since you visit the palace often now, I just guessed on instinct since Noelle came from the palace.”Alaina said.“I… I am surprised.” Noelle uttered.wizard.”“he’s your son that you were talking about? It was five days after the training session with Alaina, they’ve had more sessions and it was amazing howfast Noelle's improvement was. “Thank you” Noelle said to Alaina. As they walked inside, Noelle glanced around at the walls adorned with eerie, ancient symbols and shelves lined with various mysterious artifacts. The air was thick with an otherworldly energy, and though it was supposed to be a sanctuary, it felt more like a prison.“Come, let me show you to your quarters,” Alaina said, leading her down a narrow corridor. “You will need your rest. Tomorrow, we shall start working on you” Noelle followed silently, her eyes raking everywhere.Noelle’s room was sparse, with only a simple bed, a wooden table, and a single window overlooking the cliff.“I will leave you to settle in.” Alaina said. She looked at Noelle interestingly before she walked out of the room. Noelle sighed as soon as she left. She plunged herself onto the bed, and sleep suddenly took her away.During her short nap, there was the dream again, a shadow was chasing her and she screamed into darkness. “Who are you?” Noelle shouted at it.“I have come

Silas hadn’t left Noelle’s side since the decision for her to leave was made. And now, she is leaving. “Do you really have to go?” Silas hesitated, his eyes straining. His hand was resting on her back, fingers pressing gently, as though grounding her or perhaps stopping himself from pulling her close.“I have to.” She whispered back. His grip tightened momentarily, but he quickly pulled away, his eyes scanning her face. “I don’t care. We can figure this out together, here.”She shook her head, trying to hide the fear gnawing at her. “I wish it were that simple.”Silas’s jaw clenched, his eyes filled with frustration. “I don’t trust this witch you are being taken to. I don’t like the idea of sending you off to someone I barely know.”“I’ll be fine,” Noelle lied. She was leaving her safest person, she didn’t think she would be fine. She offered a soft smile she didn’t quite feel. “Your father trusts her.”“I believe.” He said, almost bitterly. His gaze flicked to King Nico, who was watc
