LIA BLAKE
"Wear this!" An older woman flimsily threw some cloth at me. Unable to catch it, the cloth dropped to the ground.
She was putting on a servant's clothing and I knew at once she must be one of the elderly servants.
"And you are not allowed to be clumsy here! Get your tiny self into them and get your arse down for some work! You stink!" She added, shot me a disgusting look before she walked out of the room slamming the door behind her shot.
I stared down at myself, at the once extremely pretty wedding dress I wore that had now turned into a complete mess and stinking badly from the stench of the dungeon. Anyone would hardly believe it.
I sighed tiredly and sank into the nearby seat.
Well, it was actually the only seat in the somewhat large room.
"You will be my wife…" the words of the Lycan King echoed in my head. Such good meaning words said with so much venom and cruelty. Cold shivers creeped my flesh and I shuddered.
To any she-wolf, those words were pleasing to hear especially when it comes from your mate who loved and cherished you. But to me, what were those words supposed to mean to me?
I let out another heavy sigh as I got to my feet. I should at least have a look around the place I could possibly meet my death.
There wasn't a bed in the room with all its largeness. A large locker demarcated into various locked sections stood at one corner of the room.
The room was pretty decent. At least it wasn't leaking. That I hoped for anyways although it didn't look like it would leak.
I was wondering why they would let me stay in such a large room alone when the door barged open and a group of three angry looking girls barged into the room.
"What do you think you are still doing in here? You bitch! Get your dirty self down for some work!" One of the girls barked.
"Wait, perhaps were you hoping we get the whole work done all by ourselves?" The second one snarled as they made their way towards me, hands folded across their chests.
I sighed within me knowing exactly what was coming next. I didn't think it would be the same everywhere…bullying.
They stood before me and glared at me.
All Lycans. No single chance for me.
One of them laughed scornfully as they regarded me from head to toe.
"She stinks," one of them muttered placing a hand across her nose.
"Seeing as you are still looking fresh and your skin glowing this much, I bet your story will be an interesting one. Which part of the pack are you from?" One of the girls asked me.
I didn't say a word and just held their gaze.
"Meanie, look, look, she is glaring at you…stop glaring those ugly eyes of yours bitch!!"
"Ah-ha, she must be crazy. I see…she must really want some beating, don't she…" the one I believed to be the Meanie said.
She shoved my chest roughly. "Hey! Get on your knees. Get on your damn knees this instant!"
Before I could say a word the other two girls rounded me and brought me to my knees.
"You dare glare at me! Hey, Bring me water. Make sure it's nice and cold. I bet our new roommate here will love it." Meanie said to them and in a few seconds one appeared carrying with her a bucket of water.
As she made to empty the bucket of water on my body, the door flew open.
"What do you think you are doing right now!!" A voice roared from the door.
I turned to see the Lycan King standing right at the door with a deep scowl in his face. But shockingly the scowl wasn't for me neither was the roar.
He marched furiously into the room and glared at the three girls who fell on their knees and started begging to be pardoned.
"Forgive us, my king!"
A woman dressed in the servant's clothing came and saw what was happening. She quickly dashed into the room and fell on her knees too alongside the pleading girls.
"My king, It is my fault that they turned out this way. I didn't teach them right. Punish me instead!"
The Lycan king glared at them and at the woman before he stepped backwards.
"Have her dress up and see me in my chambers." He said, flashing a look my way.
"Yes, my king. Right at it at once." The woman said and when the Lycan king left the room they all scampered back to their feets.
The elderly servant faced the three girls and shot them a stern look.
"What did I say about bullying new servants?" She queried them.
They bowed their heads in shame and apologised.
"No, that won't do. Now apologise to her at once!"
The girls glared at me.
"I said, apologize at once!"
"We are sorry…" They apologised halfheartedly.
Even I knew how insincere their apologies were, I couldn't escalate things and accepted it anyway.
The elderly servant let out a heave before she faced me. "You must be…"
"Lia…" I was saying when she cut me off.
"Scratch that for now. You must dress up and go see the king at once. I will introduce you to the other servants and slaves after you are done with that."
I nodded and bent to pick the clothes the other elderly servant had thrown at me.
"Here, wear this. You mustn't look shabby or tattered before the king. That is the servant's clothing."
She handed me a different dress. A fancy one.
"Hurry up and I will be right outside waiting to take you to the king. The rest of you get back to work at once!" She ordered before she hurried out of the room.
"Hey! Who do you think you are! Huh! Who do you think you are to make the king and ma'am Lucy pick on us!" Meanie turned and began to shove me once the elderly servant left us.
She gripped my hair and pulled it roughly whilst kicking and cussing me out. Then she shoved me and I landed on the ground on my butt. I felt my butt bone crack.
"Bitch! You are a servant just like us! And even if the king just saved your arse, it doesn't change the fact that you are an ugly servant bitch!" She yelled, breathing furiously.
"And now you even have the nerve to appear before the king with your smelly body!" She snatched the dress from my hand and for a few seconds she struggled with herself between ripping the dress into shreds or not.
"Let's go, girls. No need to watch your back, we will be here for you… and don't try laying your dirty fingers on any of my things. I will really kill you then." she added indignantly before she stomped out with the other girls.
A sigh escaped my lips the moment they were out the door.
I picked up the fancy dress and stared blankly at it for a while.
I needed no soothsayer to tell me how my next days would be like.
Recalling that the elderly servant had ordered I hurried up, I forced myself to my feet and began to undress myself. I located a door where the washing room was and got into it. I slid out of the wedding dress and there I scrubbed until I felt my skin peel.
I dried my body and my hair before I slipped myself into the fancy dress. There was a mirror by the side of the wardrobe but I stopped myself from taking a look at myself in it. The last time I stood before one in a pretty dress, it hadn't turned out so well for me.
I roughly parked up my hair in a ponytail without caring how neat it looked before I walked out of the room.
"Well, fair enough…" the elderly servant commented when I stepped out.
"Put this on, see if it will fit." she gave me a shoe which I slid my feet into and against how big it looked in my eye, it really did fit my feet.
"Come on, let's go. The King must be waiting."
She said and started to lead me to the Lycan king.
Her steps was quick and light that I struggled to match her pace
"I'm ma'am Lucy. That's what I'm called here." She said hurriedly as we walked.
"I'm Lia…"
"Introductions about yourself can wait…When you meet the king, you must never forget your curtsey and your manners. You must not resist in any way or challenge his orders. Be sure not to look him in the eyes too."
"Why?" I dared to ask.
She glanced at me.
"You wouldn't need to be told soon enough."
I shrugged wondering why she was telling me all these.
"And when he invites you to sit with him and have a meal, you must be sure to know the right answer to that."
"And what is the right answer to that?" I was going to ask but I thought better of it and kept my lips sealed following quietly behind her. Ma'am Lucy didn't say much after that and just walked silently. I almost asked when we would reach the king's chambers but held myself.
I was already in the bad books of everyone and couldn't afford to add myself to ma'am Lucy. She seemed kind.
After several minutes of walking, ma'am Lucy announced we were finally there.
"Don't worry you will get used to it." She said as if she read my thoughts.
WRITER'S POV“Stop shaking like a leaf! Relax, man. You are an embarrassment!” Alpha Greg scolded Carlos who hadn't stopped shivering since they returned to the house. His arms were placed on his lap upright whilst his legs tapped repeatedly on the floor. He turned on Alpha Greg, sliding onto the edge of his seat. “How can I? How can I relax when he is right in the same house with us? Look at how he is dressed? Did you see what he did to those men?” He pointed to his West. “Those men train all their lives yet he took them out in a matter of seconds!”He turned towards Alpha Dante. “Alpha Dante, are you not worried? Why are you so quiet? Do something–”“Hold your peace, my friend!” Alpha Dante slammed. This was why he was never able to accept him fully into the clique. Carlos was like a sissy. A weakling and a coward and he hated men like him. “What have we done wrong? Have we done anything wrong?” Carlos gulped down forcefully retracting back into his seat. “I know why I'm being th
WRITER'S POVDerrick clenched back a low grunt as he stepped down from his car. He was parked beside the track road in Blood Moon Pack. He pulled his face cap down and proceeded forward. As he walked he took notes of the buildings in hopes of locating the place he'd come to find. It suddenly dawned on him how little he knew about Blood Moon Pack. How was it that he hadn't visited this pack in a long while when he led them? He'd been having Ethan and Damian do all the road works. He argued within him if it was why he hadn't caught his enemies yet. Ethan and Damian may be missing things but with his keen senses, he couldn't. He stopped right in front of a gate but did not cross. The gate was opposite him. He studied it in comparison to the one Ethan told him and agreed it was the one he came to find. He'd stuck out one foot to finally head towards it when he sensed he was being watched. He did not turn back nor did he continue to move towards the gate. Instead he continued to walk fur
LIA'S POV“Are you pregnant?” Emily blurted out. My entire body went chill. I had specifically warned Carlos to never mention I was pregnant or had miscarried to anyone. Emily's question left me completely blank. But thankfully, Jimmy came to my rescue. “Pregnant? What are you saying, Emily! She's just vomited the whole porridge! For fuvks sake she's really stressed from those darn lycans and Carlos. How could you think of pregnancy?” Emily shrugged. “I was just asking. I mean who vomits porridge for no reason?”“Guys, it's okay. I'm alright.”“But wait…Lia…were you really close to the lycan king? I mean, when they had that protest, he even kissed you,” Jimmy probed out of nowhere. “Yes, were you guys into each other?”My heart jumped. They saw that? They were there? Oh shit. Their eyes on me suddenly felt like a piercing needle poking at me. “How did…”“We were there and we saw it,” interjected Emily. “It wasn't a kiss. It was just a peck and all of that was acting. He wanted t
WRITER'S POV“He will give me what I desire the most if I can give him what he desires the most…”Carlos mumbled as he ambled down the path. These Derrick's very words had stuck not just to his brain but to his tongue as he tried to decipher the meaning. His own part was easy. What he desired the most was becoming the Alpha of Blood Moon Pack but the other part was hard. What did Derrick desire? He stopped and put his hands on his waist. “He did not even check the gifts. How would he know it wasn't what he desired…”But then he remembered Derrick had specifically mentioned it was something that wasn't a box of expensive gifts. Then what was it? He frowned. The only ones he figured could know were most likely the ones close to him. But none of those were people he could meet. He wondered if he should have stopped and asked one of the guards as he was leaving. As he was contemplating, Alpha Dante and Alpha Greg crossed his mind. He reasoned that if Alpha Dante had even known how to f
“What?” Derrick blurted and sprung up. Laura chuckled, peering at him. “Why are you acting so shocked? We are having our wedding. Finally!” She squealed. “Says who?” He said with clenched teeth. “Your parents approve and we were originally supposed to get married if not that bitch.”He marched to his desk chair. “We can't get married. It's not possible.”“Why? Is there something going on I don't know…wait…no way…” she gasped then heaved a s frustrated sigh. The two held eyes. To Laura, Derrick's reaction only further solidified all she saw in pictures. But now she'd seen enough and wanted him for herself now. She didn't want him clinging onto Lia anymore. She wanted him to focus on her now and express all the love that had been unlocked in him. Derrick looked away. He busied himself with a bunch of documents before him. “I am still married to Lia. I can't get married as I please.”“Why did you not confirm all she told you? You were the one that got played by her. You should hav
WRITER'S POV Laura did not hesitate. As soon as she left Mrs Kings, she headed to Derrick’s office where she was sure he'd the at. She was glad she dealt nicely with Mrs Kings. Derrick's father was never going to be a problem. He was never present anyways. Arriving at Derrick's office, she was told to wait a bit for him to be informed by one of the guards. This made her flare up. “What? You expect me to wait for you to go in there and come out?” She shouted at the guard. “I'm done with y'all poverty stricken snobs. How dare a commoner like you tell me what to do? Do you know who I am?”Rick came out. “What's going on?” “Ask this snob!” Laura gritted pointing at the guard. “He is stopping me from seeing Derrick! Can you imagine the smelly guts!”Rick glanced at the guard. “Forgive me, my Beta. I was only following the king’s orders,” the guard pleaded his cause. He faced Laura. “Derrick just finished having a meeting and having a rest. How about you come back a bit later?”Laura
WRITER'S POVAfter Laura left Derrick's office, she went to Derrick's parents quarters. “Who are you, miss?” a maidservant asked her after she rang the bell.“What?” Laura gasped in disbelief. “Miss? Who am I?” She glanced at herself wondering if she had changed so much that people walked past her without recognizing her. Most of the guards didn't recognize her and questioned her at every point in the house as though she was some intruder. No respect whatsoever, and now she was even being asked who she was. In her parents-in-law's house by some measly maidservant. Well, she was going to put an end to that real soon. “Tell Mrs Kings, Laura is here.”“Laura?” The maid asked back, eyes slightly widening. Laura grinned inside. That was exactly the reaction she was expecting. “Yes Laura. Her daughter in law.”The maid quickly retreated inside. She returned a moment later and led Laura in. Laura was asked to wait in the waiting room as the ones she'd come to see were busy and would j
WRITER'S POV“Shouldn't we do something?” Rick sighed, glancing at Damian. The two were in Derrick's office and he was not in for the third consecutive time in a week. It had been so. Ever since Lia was sent away. “Derrick is depressed. We should do something,” Rick added. Damian exhaled slowly. He knew that too. He knew that but he was clueless on what they should do because they'd never seen him that way before. “Will he be alright?” He looked at Rick. Doubting the answer that came to his mind. “Of course he won't be alright. He just banished his mate and removed her father from his position. How will he be alright,” grumbled Rick. “We should do something to appease him. There must be something we can do.”“The only thing we can do to appease him is bring her back but you know we can't do that.”The two sighed long and heavy again. Almost immediately Derrick strode in. The two men exchanged surprised looks. “Why are you both looking shocked?” Derrick asked them. “Why are you–
“Alpha Dante! You are the finisher yourself!”“Great Alpha indeed!”Alpha Greg and Carlos hailed Alpha Dante. Carlos poured the drinks and gave it to both Alpha Dante and Greg. “To our victory!” He roared. Alpha Dante nodded, sparing a meek laugh as he cheered back and they clinked glasses. “You finished Blake once and for all. It is not an easy feat!” Alpha Greg praised enthusiastically as he sat down. “How did you think of using that young woman?”“Mm-mh. Laura,” Alpha Dante mumbled as his eyes narrowed. He had a tail on Derrick’s men. It was through them he found out Laura's location and acted immediately. He wondered what would have happened if he hadn't acted fast before Derrick got to her. Feeling huge of himself, he chuckled and sipped his drink. “Look at that arrogant smirk,” Greg teased and urged him again to share his secret with them. “Well, I didn't do anything much. As you all know, everything that happened is how it was supposed to happen. The young woman returne
