Lucinda's POV.

He's here!

The severity of his presence weighed deeply in my mind. This wasn't a friendly visit. He was probably here because of what he had heard and now it was my duty to pretend like it wasn't true.

I didn't want to be in the mix of people who would shove things under the carpet just to be able to feel good.

I fixed my face and walked out. "Good evening, sir. May I ask what you want?" I said in a cheerful tone masking my fear.

Darcus' heated gaze ran across my full length and I felt a bit weird. I knew deep down that this was going to escalate. I just didn't know how far it would go.

"I need two donuts, and some juice or whatever you have." He said, his eyes raking all over my body in perusal yet sending sparks down my body.

"Um... Sorry to disappoint you, sir, but we are close for the night." I laughed nervously, hoping that he would take the hint and move on.
