Kneel

Kohen's POV

“You don't have much time left. If you don't find a golden blood soon and feed on their energy, you'll die at the age of twenty-five. It's the only way to cure the curse.”

“Great. At least I still have five years left, huh? I better live my life to the fullest.”I said sarcastically.

“You know what? Maybe you deserve it for screwing around and treating women like shit. That's what you get for hurting a woman with witch blood. Play around and find out, huh?”Reina said with a scoff.

Imagine getting cursed when I was twenty because some shewolf—whom I later find out to have witch blood—couldn't accept the fact that I can't love her. And that she was nothing but an itch I needed to scratch.

“With how advanced our technology is, you're still using a crystal ball?”

I snorted and played with a crystal ball she had in her house by throwing it in the air.

“Let's say that what you're saying is true, that there is a golden blood out there. Would I even find them before I die? Hell, do they even exist? You said the last one died years ago.”

“Look, I only heard of them from my grandmother and I didn't think they existed as well, but I saw her in my vision—it was shown to me,”Reina walked over and snatched the ball from me. “It's up to you if you want to believe it or not. What do I care if you die out there? Your life is a gamble now, Kohen. Whether you find her or not is not my business anymore.”

“Well, It would be nice if your vision comes with a face or an address at least.”

“Get out of my house and start looking, jackass.”

I smirked and shook my head. “You're the only one who can treat me like that and get away with it.”

“And the only woman you haven't fucked,”she retorted.

“Mm-hmm, it's not too late to try.”I winked at her and licked my lips.

Reina smiled and attempted to throw one of her knives at me but I dodged it effortlessly and left her house laughing.

I searched for someone with a golden blood that no one in this world has ever heard of aside from Reina who saw her in her vision. Days turned to years and I had turned twenty-three with no sight of the golden blood.

I searched everywhere. I traveled around the world to find her and Reina told me that I would know it was her once I found her. I almost gave up until I found myself in the woods when I smelled an intoxicating smell that doesn't belong in a place reeking of death and surrounded by darkness.

It was a mixture of lavender, rose and honey—a smell that reminds me of the warmth of the sun in the middle of a cold winter. Something... alive.

A rogue, also known as the infamous beast living in the woods, jumped at me out of nowhere and I easily crushed his head in my hand and I shifted. The place reeks of rogues and I knew I'd have no choice but to fight.

“Pft. Pathetic. And they call you the beast? Now where are you, little one?”

I followed where the scent is stronger and witnessed something repulsive. I masked my presence in order not to be found out and watched everything unfold in front me.

I was amused watching the little human attempt to outrun the rogues. I was entertained hearing her blabbering non-sense and praying to her God who's clearly not listening.

"Your God isn't here, human. I am.”

I jumped in time before she became a snack for the group of hungry rogues. And when I inhaled her blood, fuck, it took everything in me not to devour her right there and then.

The terrified human looked at me with a pair of forest green eyes filled with so much fear that I quite enjoyed. She possesses a body that anyone would lose their mind for. A beautiful face that a whole nation would fight over. But at the end of the day, she's still nothing but a mere human.

This is the woman that could save me? A weak human being?

I let her go and followed her until I was sure she was safe. I then went back to the place where I left my bike before taking a trip back to the mountain creek where Black Mountain resides.

Only to witness the poor little human is being surrounded and ridiculed like she had just murdered someone.

“Who are you?! How dare you act like this in front of our Alpha!”

“Why are you surrounding the poor thing like lasagna? Let her breathe," I said.

A man, who I'm guessing was the Alpha, stepped closer to me and I stared directly into his eyes.

“Look, sir. You're not a member of my pack so I will let this slide. Leave. You have no business here.”

I ignored the man's words and I arched my eyebrow when I saw two familiar people standing close to each other.

“Ah, I know you. Didn't you leave this woman in the woods last night? That's not nice. She could have been eaten by the rogues.”I shook my head and dismounted my bike without taking my helmet off.

A collective gasp was heard and everyone's attention turned to the couple whose face turned pale.

“What did you say last night? Right. You wanted to get rid of her for good so you can avoid divorce—which is pathetic by the way.”I continued to mock the man and it angered him more.

“Is that true? That's terrible!”

“I can't believe it. Can Olga really do that?”

“Henry's an active member of the church. I doubt he'll do it.”

“H-He's a stranger! How could you believe him over us? For all we know, he's with Elowen and they planned this!”

Elowen. So that's the human's name. It suits her.

“How could we take a word from a stranger like him? Who do you think you are to accuse us?!”

I let out a sigh and removed my helmet.

“Can you recognize me now?”

In a second, the mighty Alpha was on his knees before me.

“Your highness!”

When he saw that everyone around him was still standing, he yelled at them, “He's Prince Kohen, the second prince of the royal family of lycans! Kneel or you lose your heads!”

Give and TakeElowen's POV“Your words will only have an impact according to your title, huh?”I could barely hear what the lycan was saying. A prince? I never had an encounter with anyone from the royal family. They are said to be sacred and powerful, so naturally, a slave like me wouldn't have any chance to see them.Through my blurry gaze, I saw him stepping over Alpha Grayson, which earned a lot of violent and shocked reactions for disrespecting him.“We beg for your forgiveness, your highness. We failed to recognize you.”Whispers from the people I grew up with reached my ear.“Is that really the second prince? I heard he's apathetic and ruthless, but why does he seem so playful?”“Don't let that fool you. Lycans are a lot stronger than werewolves and he can crush our skulls with bare hands.” “I heard he's killed so many, so you better keep your mouth shut because he can hear you.” “How long will you lay there on the dirt? You look stupid. Do you want them to ridicule you some

I was left confused as to what the hell just happened, especially the healed cut on my palm.I didn't give myself time to ponder what happened and quickly stood on my feet. I ignored my injured leg and dragged myself back to the direction of my house to make them pay for what they did to me.I don't know how, but somehow I will. The night soon turned to morning and the sun was up when I finally arrived at my house with a broken and swollen ankle. I panted hard and licked my dry lips. I was thirsty and I would pass out anytime soon, but my hatred fueled my body enough to keep standing.“What the fuck? Are you seeing what I'm seeing, Henry?”Henry and Olga, who appeared to be leaving, rushed to where I was. They were happily laughing at each other before I arrived. None of them looked happy that I was alive. And why would they be? When they left me to die.“Fuck! Why did you come back, Elowen? Why did y

The Beast in the WoodsElowen's POVWhen I came to, my head was pounding like crazy and I found that I couldn't move or talk. My hands were tied and my mouth was covered with tape.“I'm sorry, El. I really am. I only married you because I felt sorry for you, and because I was lonely when Olga left me. Now I realize that I could be someone and not just a mere slave.”I shook my head to clear my vision and saw that I was taken to the woods.“You should have signed the divorce paper, Elowen,”Olga whispered in my ear. “Now there won't be any traces of you left.”My eyes widened in horror and I attempted to free myself and scream for help but my effort was futile.“I wouldn't do that if I were you, El. You might attract the feral beast and it will eat you alive.”I screamed at them. I asked for help, I begged for mercy, but they ignored me and walked away with Olga waving at me with a sadistic look in her eyes. Henry didn't even look back at me and wrapped his arm around her. They just lef

I'm being falsely accused!”I defended myself for the fifth time.Imagine working your ass off just to make a living because your husband refuses to leave the couch, and you're suddenly accused and arrested for stealing.“Yeah? And the money magically appeared in your bag, huh?”Martin, the manager of the mart I was working at, sarcastically retorted.“Martin, I've been working with you for two years now. If I intended to steal, I would have done so a long time ago.”I desperately defended myself. Martin dramatically rolled his eyes.“I'm done talking to this thief. Officer, just lock her up because I have no intention of forgiving her. She needs to be taught a lesson.”“No!”I cried and tried reaching for him but he was already gone and the officer pushed me back on the chair. “Martin, please!”My voice remained unheard and I was thrown in a holding cell where I would wait for my fate. “I am not a thief,”
