Kneel

Kohen's POV

“You don't have much time left. If you don't find a golden blood soon and feed on their energy, you'll die at the age of twenty-five. It's the only way to cure the curse.”

“Great. At least I still have five years left, huh? I better live my life to the fullest.”I said sarcastically.

“You know what? Maybe you deserve it for screwing around and treating women like shit. That's what you get for hurting a woman with witch blood. Play around and find out, huh?”Reina said with a scoff.

Imagine getting cursed when I was twenty because some shewolf—whom I later find out to have witch blood—couldn't accept the fact that I can't love her. And that she was nothing but an itch I needed to scratch.

“With how advanced our technology is, you're still using a crystal ball?”

I snorted and played with a crystal ball she had in her house by throwing it in the air.

“Let's say that what you're saying is true, that there is a golden blood out there. Would I even find them before I die? Hell, do they even exist? You said the last one died years ago.”

“Look, I only heard of them from my grandmother and I didn't think they existed as well, but I saw her in my vision—it was shown to me,”Reina walked over and snatched the ball from me. “It's up to you if you want to believe it or not. What do I care if you die out there? Your life is a gamble now, Kohen. Whether you find her or not is not my business anymore.”

“Well, It would be nice if your vision comes with a face or an address at least.”

“Get out of my house and start looking, jackass.”

I smirked and shook my head. “You're the only one who can treat me like that and get away with it.”

“And the only woman you haven't fucked,”she retorted.

“Mm-hmm, it's not too late to try.”I winked at her and licked my lips.

Reina smiled and attempted to throw one of her knives at me but I dodged it effortlessly and left her house laughing.

I searched for someone with a golden blood that no one in this world has ever heard of aside from Reina who saw her in her vision. Days turned to years and I had turned twenty-three with no sight of the golden blood.

I searched everywhere. I traveled around the world to find her and Reina told me that I would know it was her once I found her. I almost gave up until I found myself in the woods when I smelled an intoxicating smell that doesn't belong in a place reeking of death and surrounded by darkness.

It was a mixture of lavender, rose and honey—a smell that reminds me of the warmth of the sun in the middle of a cold winter. Something... alive.

A rogue, also known as the infamous beast living in the woods, jumped at me out of nowhere and I easily crushed his head in my hand and I shifted. The place reeks of rogues and I knew I'd have no choice but to fight.

“Pft. Pathetic. And they call you the beast? Now where are you, little one?”

I followed where the scent is stronger and witnessed something repulsive. I masked my presence in order not to be found out and watched everything unfold in front me.

I was amused watching the little human attempt to outrun the rogues. I was entertained hearing her blabbering non-sense and praying to her God who's clearly not listening.

"Your God isn't here, human. I am.”

I jumped in time before she became a snack for the group of hungry rogues. And when I inhaled her blood, fuck, it took everything in me not to devour her right there and then.

The terrified human looked at me with a pair of forest green eyes filled with so much fear that I quite enjoyed. She possesses a body that anyone would lose their mind for. A beautiful face that a whole nation would fight over. But at the end of the day, she's still nothing but a mere human.

This is the woman that could save me? A weak human being?

I let her go and followed her until I was sure she was safe. I then went back to the place where I left my bike before taking a trip back to the mountain creek where Black Mountain resides.

Only to witness the poor little human is being surrounded and ridiculed like she had just murdered someone.

“Who are you?! How dare you act like this in front of our Alpha!”

“Why are you surrounding the poor thing like lasagna? Let her breathe," I said.

A man, who I'm guessing was the Alpha, stepped closer to me and I stared directly into his eyes.

“Look, sir. You're not a member of my pack so I will let this slide. Leave. You have no business here.”

I ignored the man's words and I arched my eyebrow when I saw two familiar people standing close to each other.

“Ah, I know you. Didn't you leave this woman in the woods last night? That's not nice. She could have been eaten by the rogues.”I shook my head and dismounted my bike without taking my helmet off.

A collective gasp was heard and everyone's attention turned to the couple whose face turned pale.

“What did you say last night? Right. You wanted to get rid of her for good so you can avoid divorce—which is pathetic by the way.”I continued to mock the man and it angered him more.

“Is that true? That's terrible!”

“I can't believe it. Can Olga really do that?”

“Henry's an active member of the church. I doubt he'll do it.”

“H-He's a stranger! How could you believe him over us? For all we know, he's with Elowen and they planned this!”

Elowen. So that's the human's name. It suits her.

“How could we take a word from a stranger like him? Who do you think you are to accuse us?!”

I let out a sigh and removed my helmet.

“Can you recognize me now?”

In a second, the mighty Alpha was on his knees before me.

“Your highness!”

When he saw that everyone around him was still standing, he yelled at them, “He's Prince Kohen, the second prince of the royal family of lycans! Kneel or you lose your heads!”

Olga's Death Along With My HatredElowen's POVI remained frozen on my spot, gasping for air and my whole world freezing before me. I looked down and the dagger was just a few inches away from me!I huffed and puffed, watching how Shane slowly fell in front of me with Kohen's dagger still sticking out his neck. I just saw how the light left his eyes!“Fuck. Let's go, Lena!”I could hear Rick yelling and I dragged my eyes away from Shane to see him grabbing Lena. “But Shane—”“Shane is dead!”The door was kicked open and my eyes widened when Jake flashed in front of the two to prevent them from escaping. They started fighting each other, tearing the house down. “Are you alright?”Kohen asked when he appeared before me. He stared at me, his eyes wandering all over my face and body. I saw how an emotion quickly flashed on his face before it disappeared. He clenched his jaw and wiped the blood from the corner of my mouth.“They covered their tracks and your scent. Fortunately for us, the

The Unexpected CaptorsElowen's POVI was blindfolded so I couldn't see anything but pure darkness. I was surrounded by voices just like in my dream. So it was a vision and not just a nightmare after all. And I was a victim of my own vision. Where are Kohen and Jake? Are they safe somewhere? God, I won't be able to forgive myself if I caused their demise or if they are hurt because of me. Before they dragged me somewhere, I heard one of them saying that they were only doing their job. Were they hired by someone to hurt me? Was it Olga or perhaps the queen? Maybe she took this as a chance to get rid of me once and for all. I don't know where I was. I don't know where Kohen and Jake were. I was held captive by a group of cold blooded murderers. Maybe this is really the end. I winced when the blindfold was roughly removed from my eyes. I shut my eyes tight when the light hurt my eyes a little. My hands and feet weren't tied. Maybe because they knew I wouldn't be able to run away any

Another VisionElowen's POV I had a nightmare that night. I dreamed about Northleaves, but everything turned to pure chaos. Houses were burning, dead bodies lay on the ground. Families lay lifeless on top of each other. And in the middle of the chaos were four people, but I couldn't make out their faces, only their mouths. They were looking at the dead people around them with a sick grin on their faces. I looked around and searched for Kohen and Jake to ask for help, but I was completely devastated when I saw them imprisoned inside a glass box. They were trying to break the glass. They were screaming something at me but I couldn't hear their voices. They couldn't do anything. In a flash, the four were suddenly around me, surrounding me with a murderous aura radiating from them. “They can't help you now.”One of them said, and strangely enough, I could make out a gun strapped on his holster. “You should have left when you were told to.”A female voice said, and I could smell the

The First SuspectElowen's POVThankfully, there was no one inside by the time the fire department arrived. We've received the same look the police officers gave us earlier, as if they were blaming us for what happened. Someone even said that our appearance will just cause things to escalate. “The more they try to drive us away, the more I want to stay here and find those mongrels.”Kohen doesn't look angry or frustrated. He looked annoyed and interested at the same time. “Let's find out who's the cat and who are the rats.”He said with a wide grin on his face and we proceeded to the next house. As expected, the woman named Avery refused to entertain us, not because she's suspicious, but because she's probably heard about what happened. “I don't want those people to come at me. Please, I know it's hell around here, but you guys are only making it worse.”She pleaded and I could hear her breathing shakily and whimpering in fear. “Avery, we are here to help.”I tried convincing her,

Searching For the PerpetratorsElowen's POVWe left a traumatized family behind to investigate and search for the owner of the blood. Kohen compensated them for the broken window, but I don't think it's the least of their problems. “You are not to leave my side, do you hear me? Stay where I can see you.”Kohen said firmly as we walked around. ‘As if I will be stupid enough to be on my own.’I answered in my head but nodded instead. “Yes, your highness.”I held onto the strap of the bag I was carrying. It contains all the files of the townspeople that Kohen asked for. I think because we can't gather everyone, he's planning to visit some of them instead. “Well, the thing is, the scent is everywhere. Those fuckers are playing with us.”Jake said, as he was the one tracking the scent. “Good thing they don't know that I've got one of the best trackers in the world, huh?”Kohen smirked and Jake only snorted. Everyone must have already heard what happened because I barely see anyone around

Let's Save This TownElowen's POV Kohen had a scowl on his face when we left to visit the old woman's house and find out more about what's happening in this town. Because it's morning, there are few people walking around and some cars are passing by, probably to go to work. I guess there are fewer crimes in daylight. I saw some children playing outside their home with their parents looking after them. When they saw us, they seemed anxious and hostile. Some even took their children inside. “They are living in fear. Poor them.”I muttered and sighed deeply. “They saw your face and they went running.”Kohen mocked me and I only scoffed at him. I could have sworn I heard Jake chuckling but he had that usual stoic expression on his face when I turned to look at him. “I understand why they are cautious. You said the killers are possibly living among them. Acting like a human, and even probably talking to them.”“This is her house.”Jake said behind us and we stopped in front of a bungal
