Kneel

Kohen's POV

“You don't have much time left. If you don't find a golden blood soon and feed on their energy, you'll die at the age of twenty-five. It's the only way to cure the curse.”

“Great. At least I still have five years left, huh? I better live my life to the fullest.”I said sarcastically.

“You know what? Maybe you deserve it for screwing around and treating women like shit. That's what you get for hurting a woman with witch blood. Play around and find out, huh?”Reina said with a scoff.

Imagine getting cursed when I was twenty because some shewolf—whom I later find out to have witch blood—couldn't accept the fact that I can't love her. And that she was nothing but an itch I needed to scratch.

“With how advanced our technology is, you're still using a crystal ball?”

I snorted and played with a crystal ball she had in her house by throwing it in the air.

“Let's say that what you're saying is true, that there is a golden blood out there. Would I even find them before I die? Hell, do they even exist? You said the last one died years ago.”

“Look, I only heard of them from my grandmother and I didn't think they existed as well, but I saw her in my vision—it was shown to me,”Reina walked over and snatched the ball from me. “It's up to you if you want to believe it or not. What do I care if you die out there? Your life is a gamble now, Kohen. Whether you find her or not is not my business anymore.”

“Well, It would be nice if your vision comes with a face or an address at least.”

“Get out of my house and start looking, jackass.”

I smirked and shook my head. “You're the only one who can treat me like that and get away with it.”

“And the only woman you haven't fucked,”she retorted.

“Mm-hmm, it's not too late to try.”I winked at her and licked my lips.

Reina smiled and attempted to throw one of her knives at me but I dodged it effortlessly and left her house laughing.

I searched for someone with a golden blood that no one in this world has ever heard of aside from Reina who saw her in her vision. Days turned to years and I had turned twenty-three with no sight of the golden blood.

I searched everywhere. I traveled around the world to find her and Reina told me that I would know it was her once I found her. I almost gave up until I found myself in the woods when I smelled an intoxicating smell that doesn't belong in a place reeking of death and surrounded by darkness.

It was a mixture of lavender, rose and honey—a smell that reminds me of the warmth of the sun in the middle of a cold winter. Something... alive.

A rogue, also known as the infamous beast living in the woods, jumped at me out of nowhere and I easily crushed his head in my hand and I shifted. The place reeks of rogues and I knew I'd have no choice but to fight.

“Pft. Pathetic. And they call you the beast? Now where are you, little one?”

I followed where the scent is stronger and witnessed something repulsive. I masked my presence in order not to be found out and watched everything unfold in front me.

I was amused watching the little human attempt to outrun the rogues. I was entertained hearing her blabbering non-sense and praying to her God who's clearly not listening.

"Your God isn't here, human. I am.”

I jumped in time before she became a snack for the group of hungry rogues. And when I inhaled her blood, fuck, it took everything in me not to devour her right there and then.

The terrified human looked at me with a pair of forest green eyes filled with so much fear that I quite enjoyed. She possesses a body that anyone would lose their mind for. A beautiful face that a whole nation would fight over. But at the end of the day, she's still nothing but a mere human.

This is the woman that could save me? A weak human being?

I let her go and followed her until I was sure she was safe. I then went back to the place where I left my bike before taking a trip back to the mountain creek where Black Mountain resides.

Only to witness the poor little human is being surrounded and ridiculed like she had just murdered someone.

“Who are you?! How dare you act like this in front of our Alpha!”

“Why are you surrounding the poor thing like lasagna? Let her breathe," I said.

A man, who I'm guessing was the Alpha, stepped closer to me and I stared directly into his eyes.

“Look, sir. You're not a member of my pack so I will let this slide. Leave. You have no business here.”

I ignored the man's words and I arched my eyebrow when I saw two familiar people standing close to each other.

“Ah, I know you. Didn't you leave this woman in the woods last night? That's not nice. She could have been eaten by the rogues.”I shook my head and dismounted my bike without taking my helmet off.

A collective gasp was heard and everyone's attention turned to the couple whose face turned pale.

“What did you say last night? Right. You wanted to get rid of her for good so you can avoid divorce—which is pathetic by the way.”I continued to mock the man and it angered him more.

“Is that true? That's terrible!”

“I can't believe it. Can Olga really do that?”

“Henry's an active member of the church. I doubt he'll do it.”

“H-He's a stranger! How could you believe him over us? For all we know, he's with Elowen and they planned this!”

Elowen. So that's the human's name. It suits her.

“How could we take a word from a stranger like him? Who do you think you are to accuse us?!”

I let out a sigh and removed my helmet.

“Can you recognize me now?”

In a second, the mighty Alpha was on his knees before me.

“Your highness!”

When he saw that everyone around him was still standing, he yelled at them, “He's Prince Kohen, the second prince of the royal family of lycans! Kneel or you lose your heads!”

A Beautiful EndingElowen's POVKohen shot up from the bed and tears of joy automatically filled my eyes. I choked on my own tears, watching him pant for air. He was disoriented at first as he looked around before his eyes met mine."Elowen." He called my name with relief, love and fear. "Is that really you? Am... Am I really alive?" I sniffed and slowly walked over the bed. When reality sank in that he was really alive, I threw my arms around him and sobbed."You're alive. And you came back to me." I muttered emotionally, tightening my arms around him just as his arms snaked around my waist. "I am giving you some privacy." I heard Mom saying from behind me and Kohen pulled away a little."Wait. Thank you. Thank you for helping me go back." Kohen thanked my mother who smiled and bowed."It is my pleasure to help your majesty and your grace." When Mom left, Kohen and I found each other again and we cried silently, celebrating our reunion emotionally. Neither of us said a word and we

Finding My Way Back to YouKohen's POVDarkness. I was consumed with nothing but darkness, surrounded by pitch black nothingness. The moment I regained consciousness, I was at a loss, no memory of what happened to me, or who I was.And all I felt... was deep anger and sorrow that consumed my whole body. I thought hard and almost hurt my brain trying to remember why I was so angry in the first place, but when I couldn't find the answer, emptiness was what followed. There was nowhere to go, there was nothing to hear or see. I stayed in the same place for what seemed like forever. Where was I? Who was I? Why was I here? My questions remained unanswered. When I finally had the strength to move around, I trudged through the darkness, walking endlessly and found that my effort was useless in the end. "Weak." A voice echoed around the dark place, making me look around but saw no one. "Will you stay in the dark forever? Like you always did before you found the light?" "Who are you?" I

"Yes, your highness." Every member of my household responded with a bow. "Greetings to her highness, the future queen's mother, Lady Isolde." "Oh, no. Please don't." My mother waved her hand to prevent them from greeting her with respect. "Let them, Mom. It would be their pleasure to serve you. Carla, please step forward." I summoned my friend and she obeyed without questions. "I am giving you the position of my mother's aide. You are to take care of her needs. Choose other ladies who can help you with your duty and I want you to ask for her own security."Yes, your highness. Thank you for trusting this humble servant." "An aide? Elowen, your highness, I don't need servants, I can do things on my own. I'll be more comfortable being on my own." "But you don't have to do things alone now, mother. Yo

Mother and Daughter Finally ReunitedElowen's POV"I... I don't know how to face you. I abandoned you. I contributed nothing to your life. I am to blame for what happened to you. For everything you suffered." I stepped in front of her and crouched in front of her to see her face clearly and she gasped in shock, pulling me up to prevent me from kneeling. "Y-Your grace, please! You can't kneel in front of everyone. Especially not for someone like me!" She pulled me up so I was sitting beside her instead. "Someone like you? You are the one I owe this life to." I simply answered and she only sobbed softly. "You became like this because of me." That wasn't a question or a hunch, but an answer. Because the moment she touched me, her life so far flashed before my eyes, and I couldn't help but feel emotional. Especially when I finally found out what her name was. Her name was Isolde. "You... You prayed for me every single day. You work whatever jobs you can so you can offer donations,

Stop Running, Mother Elowen's POVOnly silence could be heard in Kohen and I's residence where I have invited Mother Teresa so we could have a proper conversation. Mother Teresa was one of the nuns who took care of me and Rhea. They were all nice to us and they did not make us feel that we were alone in this world. But still, nothing could fill that empty space in our hearts. They treated us like their children, sisters and friends. They were so nice to us that I didn't think she was hiding something important to me all this time.Mother Teresa, despite her age of eighty-one, attempted to kneel in front of me but I quickly stopped her."No word can describe what I did to you, your highness," she started, finally speaking after I brought her here and demanded the truth. "I'm terribly sorry for hiding the truth from you all this time but she... your mother begged me not to ever mention her or her existence to you until the day I die. She made me swear it." "Why? Why did she give me a

We don't have to wait for another lifetime." I emotionally and lovingly whispered to Kohen, who was still asleep. The doctor has informed me that there is nothing wrong with him and all the tests and scans they did came back normal. His body is just resting, and his mind is still in denial. Maybe lost.I already tried to connect with him through his mind, but found that his soul was wandering around, so he had no consciousness. We looked everywhere in the palace for his soul, so I could tell him that he was still alive, but he was nowhere to be found. "Come back to me, darling." I pressed a gentle kiss on his lips and caressed his handsome face.Strangely enough, when I touched him, I didn't see his future and I am not sure if it is because his soul wasn't in his body. But Reina also told me that it could
