Elowen's POV “Your words will only have an impact according to your title, huh?” I could barely hear what the lycan was saying. A prince? I never had an encounter with anyone from the royal family. They are said to be sacred and powerful, so naturally, a slave like me wouldn't have any chance to see them. Through my blurry gaze, I saw him stepping over Alpha Grayson, which earned a lot of violent and shocked reactions for disrespecting him. “We beg for your forgiveness, your highness. We failed to recognize you.” Whispers from the people I grew up with reached my ear. “Is that really the second prince? I heard he's apathetic and ruthless, but why does he seem so playful?” “Don't let that fool you. Lycans are a lot stronger than werewolves and he can crush our skulls with bare hands.” “I heard he's killed so many, so you better keep your mouth shut because he can hear you.” “How long will you lay there on the dirt? You look stupid. Do you want them to ridicule you some more?” I stared at the pair of leather boots in front of me and dragged my eyes up to meet a set of familiar eyes—those captivating eyes that stared at me as if he had just seen something he needed. As if I mattered to him somehow. “I-It's you.” “It's time to eat you up, human.” he smirked and pulled me on my feet. “I always thought that Black Mountain is one of the greatest packs out there, but witnessing what happened today, I was wrong,”he muttered, “I'm disappointed with how you handled things here, Alpha Grayson. You can do a lot more than that.” “I will take your advice to heart, your highness.” “From now on, this one belongs to me. Anyone who touches her will have to speak to me.” The second prince shot everyone a warning look that made them weak on their knees. It was an amusing sight. They were looking at me earlier like I was a mere dirt under their shoe. But now they couldn't even look him in the eyes. I gasped when he carried me in his arms without any warning and wrapped my arm around his neck so I wouldn't fall. He gently placed me on his bike and put his helmet on me. “Next time, you leave a room where no one wants you. No excuses.” My eyes shifted to where Olga and Henry were kneeling on the ground and he shut the visor, as if stopping me from looking at them. He mounted his bike and turned it on, the beautiful purr of the bike filled the whole place. He suddenly took my hands and had them wrapped around his waist. I panicked a little because I knew touching the royals could cause you your head, but I found that I had no strength to argue. “You better hold on tight.” “Where are you taking me?” I asked in a small voice. “Somewhere far from here.” Kohen took me to a house located inside a forest. I didn't even realize we stopped because I was crying the whole time. He got off his bike and removed his helmet, snorting loudly when he saw my face. “Stop crying over someone like that. Does he have a big dick or something? Because that is the only reason you should be crying.” I was flabbergasted by his offensive remark and it gave me the impression that although he saved me, this prince is still a jerk. “Let's go. You need to meet someone.” He helped me off his bike and I followed him as he entered the house like he owns it and witnessed how he easily caught a flying knife just in time before it hit his face. “Oh, it's you.”I heard a woman saying but I couldn't see her because Kohen was blocking my sight. I stepped to the side and saw a gorgeous woman with bright red hair and black eyes. “Why? You didn't see me coming through your vision?” Reina ignored him and walked past him to look without taking her eyes off me. “Who's this? Don't tell me you're—" “You told me to look for her and I did. There's your golden blood.” The woman gasped loudly, her eyes popping out of their sockets and she covered her mouth. “What's golden blood?”I wondered, totally confused. “A small group of healers thousand years ago, and you are a reincarnation of them,”Reina answered with her eyes sparkling. “They thought you were a myth so you're not written in history, but you're here.” “That is impossible. I am a simple human.” “Stop gawking and tell me how to get rid of the curse. Do I need to fuck the energy out of her or eat her flesh and drink her blood?” I instantly paled because of what he said. “Please don't mind him. His brain is in his dick so it's all he can think about. Let's sit and I will explain everything to you.” Reina took me to the sofa and explained everything. He told me about Kohen's curse and that I was the only one who could save him. She said that she saw me in her vision and told me everything she knows about golden blood. I had a hard time wrapping my head around it and felt overwhelmed. “So what you're trying to tell me... is that I am the only one who can get rid of the curse inside him? B-But how?” “Because you are pure, and like I said, you came from a clan of healers. The curse cast upon him is a dark energy that will slowly weaken his body as he is near the age of twenty-five. The energy inside you can cleanse the curse inside him.” “Does that mean he needs to–to eat me?”I stuttered. Tears gathered in my eyes at the thought, but then I realized what's good about being alive anyway? It's endless torture. “Maybe I should. To help the world get rid of a stupid human who's given up on life just because her husband chose another woman.” “I've already done my research and the only way to cleanse your body from it without harming Elowen... is through sex.” “Why should I help him?”I found myself asking, not liking how he's treating me. “Because I saved you twice and because you have no choice. If you refuse, and if you tell anyone about this, I will tear you to pieces before I kill you.”he threatened without a hint of a smile on his face and I cowered away from his gaze. Reina sighed heavily. “Can't you be nice for a second? She will be helping you extend your life, jerk. You should be kissing her feet.” “Alright. What do you want me to do for you to help me? Give and take. You will give me what I need and I will give you what you want.” I bowed my head and gave it some thought. I remembered what Henry said and why he wanted to divorce me. He said he wants power, and he'd use Olga to gain it. They would be out there living like they didn't just attempt to kill me. Well, maybe this is my chance to make them pay for what they did. They want power? I will take it from them and leave them with nothing. I stared at Kohen with tears no longer falling from my eyes .“I want to punish Henry and Olga for what they did to me.”Olga's Death Along With My HatredElowen's POVI remained frozen on my spot, gasping for air and my whole world freezing before me. I looked down and the dagger was just a few inches away from me!I huffed and puffed, watching how Shane slowly fell in front of me with Kohen's dagger still sticking out his neck. I just saw how the light left his eyes!“Fuck. Let's go, Lena!”I could hear Rick yelling and I dragged my eyes away from Shane to see him grabbing Lena. “But Shane—”“Shane is dead!”The door was kicked open and my eyes widened when Jake flashed in front of the two to prevent them from escaping. They started fighting each other, tearing the house down. “Are you alright?”Kohen asked when he appeared before me. He stared at me, his eyes wandering all over my face and body. I saw how an emotion quickly flashed on his face before it disappeared. He clenched his jaw and wiped the blood from the corner of my mouth.“They covered their tracks and your scent. Fortunately for us, the
The Unexpected CaptorsElowen's POVI was blindfolded so I couldn't see anything but pure darkness. I was surrounded by voices just like in my dream. So it was a vision and not just a nightmare after all. And I was a victim of my own vision. Where are Kohen and Jake? Are they safe somewhere? God, I won't be able to forgive myself if I caused their demise or if they are hurt because of me. Before they dragged me somewhere, I heard one of them saying that they were only doing their job. Were they hired by someone to hurt me? Was it Olga or perhaps the queen? Maybe she took this as a chance to get rid of me once and for all. I don't know where I was. I don't know where Kohen and Jake were. I was held captive by a group of cold blooded murderers. Maybe this is really the end. I winced when the blindfold was roughly removed from my eyes. I shut my eyes tight when the light hurt my eyes a little. My hands and feet weren't tied. Maybe because they knew I wouldn't be able to run away any
Another VisionElowen's POV I had a nightmare that night. I dreamed about Northleaves, but everything turned to pure chaos. Houses were burning, dead bodies lay on the ground. Families lay lifeless on top of each other. And in the middle of the chaos were four people, but I couldn't make out their faces, only their mouths. They were looking at the dead people around them with a sick grin on their faces. I looked around and searched for Kohen and Jake to ask for help, but I was completely devastated when I saw them imprisoned inside a glass box. They were trying to break the glass. They were screaming something at me but I couldn't hear their voices. They couldn't do anything. In a flash, the four were suddenly around me, surrounding me with a murderous aura radiating from them. “They can't help you now.”One of them said, and strangely enough, I could make out a gun strapped on his holster. “You should have left when you were told to.”A female voice said, and I could smell the
The First SuspectElowen's POVThankfully, there was no one inside by the time the fire department arrived. We've received the same look the police officers gave us earlier, as if they were blaming us for what happened. Someone even said that our appearance will just cause things to escalate. “The more they try to drive us away, the more I want to stay here and find those mongrels.”Kohen doesn't look angry or frustrated. He looked annoyed and interested at the same time. “Let's find out who's the cat and who are the rats.”He said with a wide grin on his face and we proceeded to the next house. As expected, the woman named Avery refused to entertain us, not because she's suspicious, but because she's probably heard about what happened. “I don't want those people to come at me. Please, I know it's hell around here, but you guys are only making it worse.”She pleaded and I could hear her breathing shakily and whimpering in fear. “Avery, we are here to help.”I tried convincing her,
Searching For the PerpetratorsElowen's POVWe left a traumatized family behind to investigate and search for the owner of the blood. Kohen compensated them for the broken window, but I don't think it's the least of their problems. “You are not to leave my side, do you hear me? Stay where I can see you.”Kohen said firmly as we walked around. ‘As if I will be stupid enough to be on my own.’I answered in my head but nodded instead. “Yes, your highness.”I held onto the strap of the bag I was carrying. It contains all the files of the townspeople that Kohen asked for. I think because we can't gather everyone, he's planning to visit some of them instead. “Well, the thing is, the scent is everywhere. Those fuckers are playing with us.”Jake said, as he was the one tracking the scent. “Good thing they don't know that I've got one of the best trackers in the world, huh?”Kohen smirked and Jake only snorted. Everyone must have already heard what happened because I barely see anyone around
Let's Save This TownElowen's POV Kohen had a scowl on his face when we left to visit the old woman's house and find out more about what's happening in this town. Because it's morning, there are few people walking around and some cars are passing by, probably to go to work. I guess there are fewer crimes in daylight. I saw some children playing outside their home with their parents looking after them. When they saw us, they seemed anxious and hostile. Some even took their children inside. “They are living in fear. Poor them.”I muttered and sighed deeply. “They saw your face and they went running.”Kohen mocked me and I only scoffed at him. I could have sworn I heard Jake chuckling but he had that usual stoic expression on his face when I turned to look at him. “I understand why they are cautious. You said the killers are possibly living among them. Acting like a human, and even probably talking to them.”“This is her house.”Jake said behind us and we stopped in front of a bungal
