Alder’s POV

Cindy is worried, I know, and I can see it on her face. She was feeling guilty, too, since she thought that her own family was doing these things. I am not afraid for my life. What scares me is the fact that I know that she’s going to suffer if I'm ever gone. I wanted to show her that I was confident and that we would be able to get through all of these threats. I asked them to leave me in my office after our meeting. I wanted to be alone and think.

Lorena cares about her the most. All the time that we were discussing everything she knew, she never failed to remind me about her safety. I don’t know, but I feel that she’s really afraid that something might happen to her niece. She said that Cindy might not be a target and would come to me instead since she’s their family. But I cannot let my guard down. I don’t know how vicious they are now compared to my grandmother’s time.
