Inciting

Marcelo’s Point of view

“Do you mind if I ask why you have insisted that you come along on this trip?” Connor questioned me as I fixed my boots.

“Let’s just say I want to see that asshole’s face. I hear his bringing his sister around. Maybe we can find a way into his borders,” I replied, pulling laces before I stood back, grabbing my leather jacket and throwing it on top.

We arrived at the ancient moon pack before everyone else but decided to rent a house very far from the castle because I wanted to make sure that I know everything about this pack before showing my face to people.

“Have you ever met his sister?” He asked me as I shook my head. “Not really, her identity has been hidden for years,” I replied sighing heavily

Walking out of my room, I headed down the stairs with Connor behind me. “Are you going on your adventures tonight as well?” He asked me as I shook my head.

“No. I am meeting Calliope. We agreed to meet secretly later,” I replied..

“But meeting her looking like that? What kind of ordinary werewolf looks like you?” Connor asked me, making me stop in my tracks as I turned to look at him. What was he trying to insinuate?

“You really should spend time getting to know ordinary people,” He said to me as I inhaled sharply

“What’s that supposed to mean?” I asked him, and he shrugged his shoulders, turning around and walking away.

“Anything wrong with my outfit?” I turned to Lily, his mate, who was clearing the table as she smiled.

“Your majesty, I think you might want to change your clothes and were something more of an omega even though your physic doesn’t alone,” She smiled at me as I rolled my eyes.

“Fine! Let’s get changed into something else then,” I replied, and she turned to Connor, winking at him as I sighed. They always pissed me off with how they are constantly getting all cosy when I am there.

“I will bring some shirts for you and jeans,” she shouted after me, and I heard Connor let out a pearl of laughter.

I headed back to my room. What was wrong with my outfit? To me, I seemed okay. I convinced myself when a knock came on the door and I could tell it was Connor.

His breathing technique is different from most people, unlike us, who just have a normal heart rhythm. His is different. He channels his powers from his breathing.

“She said this might be something you can wear,” he said, handing me the ragged shirt as I tilted my head, looking at him. Was he fucking serious right now?

“You realise I can’t wear this, right?” I asked him, and he smirked sitting on the bed as I watched him enjoy the moment.

“My wife chose that. So just put it on,” He insisted, knowing how he gets angry talking about his wife’s choices. I quickly changed into the ragged shirt before making my way out of the room.

“See you” He shouted. I thought of shifting on my way to the castle so that I could get there on time, but then I also had to cover my scent.

I got on the bike that I brought with us. I chose to use a different route than what she sent to me because I had trust issues.

Pulling over just a few miles from the castle, I decided to walk from here. I ensured that I could hide the bike before entering the castle.

After getting to the wall. I used my claws to climb up the wall and then made my way to the garden. She asked me to meet her at.

I have been here before, so I know exactly where it is. Making my way towards the garden< I am near the quarters where the guests will be staying.

My nose picks a scent. It smells like jasmine. It’s inciting but very faint. Who is it? I am curious to know who the woman that I am drawn to is. Calliope? Could she be my mate?

I hear footsteps approaching. The smell is powerful, but very pleasant. Zane growls softly. He loves the smell as well.

I sniffed the air, enjoying the smell of jasmine. It’s too strong for me to just keep hiding. I want to know her. Zane wants to claim her as ours..

“Who are you? Come out!”

She shouts. She’s hesitant, but also her voice something is drawing me to her.

I have never wanted a mate, and I was not about to meet one tonight. I take a step back, but I end up making a few noises.

Let’s talk to her,’ Zane insists to me as I sigh heavily. I know better than to argue with him when it comes to finding our mate. We have been through this before, so I don’t want to go back through with it, but I just have to.

“I know you are there!” she shouts again as I inhale sharply

I can feel her walking toward the trees I was hiding behind, but I decided I would rather sneak up on her from behind.

She sniffles the air while standing behind her. I step out of the garden trees, my eyes landing on a beautiful not too revealing dress with her back turned to me.

She pauses briefly before turning to look at me. My eyes linger on her as she inhales sharply, and she does not seem scared to see me.

“Who are you?” She inquired. Tilting her head, as her eyes trail my body as if looking for something.

‘She’s not our mate. We should go’ I say to Zane, who seems relaxed by all this.

‘No. Let’s talk to her.’

He insists, and I clench my jaws. This is the first time he wants to talk to a she-wolf who isn’t our mate.

“You are not Princess Calliope,” I stated, the obvious that she wasn’t a princess or anyone of higher rank. I have met those women before. She was either an omega or gamma serving here.

“Hate to disappoint.” she retorted, rolling her eyes. It was driving me crazy knowing that her way of speaking does not offend me. My eyes lingered on her body, thinking about what I would do to her.

I would do anything to be with her right now, but I can’t stoop so low to be with an omega.

“You have beautiful eyes,” the words slipped from my mouth without thinking about it. She seems taken back

‘you are scaring her, you idiot,’ Zane growled.

I took a step towards her but it was like now stuck to the ground. She wasn’t moving away from me.

My hand reaches for her face before I can touch her. She grabs my hand, stopping me from touching her.

I can feel an electrifying spark when she touches me and quickly removes her hand as Zane growls and my eyes turn darker. I know Zane wants to come out, but it will blow our cover and ruin our plans.

“Who are you?” I ask in a deep, hushed whisper. Why does she have such an effect on me> she’s not even my mate?

“I asked you who are you?” I ask her again and she doesn’t respond but just t stares into my eyes, her green eyes drawing me to her

My hand reaches again to touch her face, and this time she doesn’t do anything to stop me. My hand gently caresses her cheek.

Her cheeks are so soft, and it’s driving Zane crazy inside. ‘Take her with us’, He insists

“What’s your name, little one?” I questioned her, my hand still on her cheeks.

“Little one? Who the hell do you think you are calling me, little one?” she retorted, moving back from me as I growl, I loved the warmth of her skin.

I want to say something, but I can hear footsteps approaching where we are. Taking a step back, I look into her eyes before turning to the door. Its wolves.

“I guess this is my cue!” I started, and she widened her eyes. Before she could respond, I turned around, leaving. I knew the wolves who were approaching, and I didn’t have time to fight.

I needed to know who this woman was.

I swiftly left the garden, getting to my bike. I had to talk to Connor, and he had an assignment to do.
