The Commoner's touch

Alyssa

Marriage? Bloodlust? There was no way Jason would agree to this marriage. He knows what I want. He knows what I want in life. And that’s being with the man the moon goddess chose for me.

“What do you think, King Kaleb?” King Theo smirked, lifting his head towards the door as I swallowed hard, wondering what he was saying.

“Good evening. I apologise for coming late,” King Kaleb said, smiling vividly as I clenched tight to my dress. I was not about to get married to a man that didn’t even know anything about me. Ligia Growled at the idea of being with this man.

My eyes met the blue-eyed man who was standing at the entrance, she-wolves who were unmated drooling over the 6’6ft man who was standing with his men on the sides.

“Jason. Please tell me you are not considering marrying me off to this man,” I mind-linked him.

“Let’s talk about this later,” he replied to me, Grabbing the glass of wine on the table, I started gulping down its contents.

There is a reason their pack is called as Bloodlust. They crave blood; they want blood every time. Clenching my jaws, I am hoping that Jason won’t agree to the alliance.

“It would be an honour t-to,” Jason stuttered, looking at me. ‘Please don’t marry me off to this man,’ I pleaded with him through our link.

‘Calm down. I have-‘ he wanted to respond but stopped midway, looking at the figure approaching us. “Princess Alyssa, it is such a pleasure to meet you,” King Kaleb said, extending his hand so that I can greet him.

“King Kaleb” I curtsied before him and he smirked nodding his head.

He was cruel; he was bloodthirsty. He was going to turn me into a breeder for his pups.

“Please. Call me Kaleb, we will be getting married soon” He smirked and let go of my hand, which fell freely back. Murmurs filled the room, and I was just looking forward to leaving this room.

‘Jason...”

I pleaded with him to respond.

‘This is for the best’ he says holding my hand as I l clenched a fist and he held on tight to me. ‘But my mate…’ I say like a whimper

‘I am sorry’ he apologies

“If King Kaleb is fine with it, then I see no reason why we should delay it” Jason forced a smile as I blinked back my tears, his hand under the tight holding on tight to mine.

“Please, could you excuse me?” I said, standing up from the chair as gasps filled the room. I pushed back my chair, bowing my head before the kings and I turned on my heel.

“Allie!” Jason shouted after me, but I couldn’t listen to him.

“Do not even think of leaving,” He says through the link, his my alpha. I am meant to obey his command as my alpha, but not tonight. Tonight is wrong. He just agreed to trade me for his ambitions.

‘Don’t follow me,’ I commanded Frey, who was asking me if I was okay.

Storming out of the room I had back to the garden where I was earlier. I just wanted to be alone, “Oh Ligia. What are we going to do now? Jason is doing what’s best for the pack,” I stressed, outpacing around the fountain. I feel tears filling my eyes, but I can’t cry.

I can’t let myself cry over something like this. I knew sooner or later this was bound to happen. Jason has taken me around different packs to find our mate, but every time I am just left disappointed.

Maybe I don’t have a fated mate? Could the moon goddess hate me that much? I sink into the chair in the garden as I close my eyes. If I was home, I would shift. I would go for a run but I can’t.

I don’t know this place very well; I don’t know which forest is safe.

I don’t know which routes to take. It’s not safe for me.

‘He is here,’ Ligia beamed, causing me to stand.

‘Who? Who's here Ligia?’ I inquired, looking around as I pick the scent from here, that commoner. His here.

I inhale sharply, thinking about his scent. I can’t be here. This is wrong.

I should leave.

I turn on my heel to leave. “Don’t leave. He will make us feel better,” Ligia insists as I roll my eyes.

“Ligia. Who is here? We can’t even make out what he is.” I protest, knowing too well it’s a losing battle with Ligia. She hasn’t felt like this in a long time, since I was nine.

I stop in my tracks, turning in the direction that the scent is coming from. “Are you stalking me?” I question.

“Did you have to be so straightforward?” Ligia remarked, but I am not going to let my wolf tell me what to ask the stranger.

“Why are you sad?” He inquired, ignoring my question once again. I bite my lower lip, running my fingers in my hair, and I am frustrated now with him ignoring my questions.

“Leave before I call the guards,” I caution him and he started walking toward me. Why won’t he just leave? What did I do?” I take a step back and he keeps approaching me until my back is against the tree.

His lips curved into an unpleasant sneer as he edged near me. I felt a lump form in my throat, watching him as he inched closer to me.

The smell of lavender once again is addictive. He lifted his arm, trapping me between the tree and his body, his so tall than me, I think about 6’7 ft.

He brought his other hand to my cheek, slowly stroking my cheek. A soft moan escapes my lips as I quickly bring my hand to cover my mouth. What is happening to me? “You are very beautiful,” He says to me. I could feel my heart racing fast.

“Please don’t,” I say in a whisper. Narrowing his eyes, he takes a step back, his eyes trailing on my body before he cleans in closer again.

His fingers slipped against the fabric of my dress, lifting my leg as he wrapped it around his waist.

Scream.

No. Don’t scream. Another voice comes. What am I doing here with a stranger? His soft hand brushes against my bare skin and he let out a deep growl when his hand touches the hem of my panties.

I feel a lump forming in my throat. I gulped it down while taking in his handsome features, a chiselled jawline, green eye’s full lips. He reeks of whiskey, but I love it. I want to taste his lip.

His gaze locked with me as I lean back hoping he won’t force himself on me but I am eager to know what his lips taste like.

Like a jolt of lightning, I realised that this was wrong. Why am I with a strange in the garden at this hour? His fingers were tempting to slip under my panties and I shamelessly wanted to allow him

You are a princess, Alyssa, and this is some commoner.

“Allie Where are you?” Jason asked through the link. I could feel him. He was close.

Bringing my hands to his chest, I pushed him away. “No!”

He let out a deep growl as he tilted his head, looking at me from head to toe.

“You had better leave. Someone is coming,” I cautioned him as he furrowed his eyebrows.

I couldn’t let him find out that I was a princess and my brother was coming here. “You need to leave now,” I said, moving away from the tree as I looked around.

“Please,” I plead with him and he nods his head.

“Can I see you again?” He questions me, eager to know what my answer is. Jason is close and might find him in this garden with me. I know Jason.

He will have him beheaded if he finds out that the commoner touched me. I look towards the door and I can hear the footsteps. “Fine! I will see you again. Please go,” I plead with him, h gives me an affirmative no. He gently strokes my cheek for the last time before he disappears again into the flowers. I am glad that they can grow such flowers here.

I sigh heavily, turning around as I rush through the doors. I don’t want the man to see me with Jason in case he hasn’t left the garden.
