Alyssa’s point of view

I groaned softly, turning my head from the penetrating light through the window. I can’t see clearly and my body feels like a truck has run me over.

I can’t feel Ligia. My heart races, wondering if I am wolfless. Why can’t I feel her? What’s happening?

There’s someone at my door chatting with Freya. Who’s the woman? I inwardly asked myself, trying to sit up.

“Allie!” Frey exclaims, coming closer to where I am. My head is throbbing and hearing her shout is like a piercing pain in my ears.

“Water,” I whisper, taking off the mask and she hurriedly takes it off me.

“Here” the woman hands her a glass of water and I don’t move sure if I can trust her.

“It’s okay. You can trust her,” she assured me.

I take the glass of water, gulping down its content as she gently strokes my back while I am drinking the water. I can’t believe that the person I had just given myself to hurt me.

“How are you feeling?

Does it hurt anywhere?”
