Jane

I picked myself from the floor, filled with renewed hope because Nala was right. I didn't need their permission to find my mate. All I had to do was make myself present, find my mate and before they would be able to do anything about it, I'd be leaving with my mate.

My heart beat in excitement. I was done being obedient.  I bit onto my lip as I wiped my tears away. They weren't worth my tears nor the headache that came after.

I began clearing the table, all the while trying to think of a plan. My mate was my priority right now even if it meant getting beaten up, it was still worth the shot.

I heard the sound of footsteps, small talk and giggles from the stairs.

Sullivan was saying something about Elise being a beautiful woman all the time. To others witnessing them at the moment, they'd be in awe but not me. All I felt was the urge to actually throw up the bile in my throat.

Her eyes fell on me and her face visibly fell.

"We'll be leaving now. Do take care… and kill the rat please." She flashed me the fakest smile I had ever seen and she didn't even bother hiding it.

Bullshit! There was no rat. They knew. Hilda's muffled snickers highlighted that enough.

I watched them leave, locking the door behind them, quietly waiting to hear them drive off and when they did, I sprang into action.

Elise had obviously locked the front door and instructed the guards not to let me out so I may only hope now was the back door because that was one door she always forgot to lock whenever she was going out.

I immediately washed up the plates, making sure to clean the table properly then dashed to my room to shower and get ready.

As I carefully removed the white gown from my  bag, I wondered what my mate would say when he'd see me in this dress. The silk material I believed would compliment my skin very well.

I immediately put it on, after brushing my hair and tying it in a messy bun. I grabbed my heels and ran up the stairs to Hilda's room to use her mirror.

I looked at myself in the mirror and my heart soared. I looked beautiful. My skin shone though a few faded marks existed but regardless, I looked lovely.

I carefully slipped out of the backdoor, quietly closing it behind me. I could hear the music growing louder along with chatters and happy laughter.

I was super excited that I'd get to witness a mating ceremony. I'd get to see two better halves come together to become one. I heard it was a truly fulfilling and blissful feeling and I couldn't wait to experience it.

The nearer I got to the field, the more a weird smell wafted through my nose. It smelled like pine and cinnamon and it made my mouth water and my body quiver a little. Chills ran down my spine the more the smell grew prominent.

"Mate! He's there. Mate is there." Nala chanted happily, howling in my head.

My head spun as my jaw dropped. I wasn't even in the field yet, yet I had already found him. I was glad I took the risk to come.

I found myself out in the field, met with the sight of people standing around, talking, laughing, gisting. A few, convinced that they'd get mated to their boyfriends and some to the man of their dreams.

I rubbed my cold palm against the side of my gown, trying to calm my anxiety as I looked around, eager to figure out the source of the tempting scent I was perceiving. I began walking down the field, feeling eyes on me as I subconsciously walked, the only thing on my mind being the smell that brought goosebumps to my skin and made me want to melt.

I trailed the scent till I was standing right in front of Kian Black in all his glory. He wore that searching look in his eyes, his eyes widening in realization. And so did mine. His black shirt refrained from hugging his body, black corporate pants adorning his lower region. His ring clad hand gripped the wine glass in his eyes tighter as he looked at me.

"Mate." I subconsciously muttered, feeling the need to throw myself in his arms and soak in his delicious scent.

He was my mate? Kian Black was my mate? I could feel eyes burning in the back of my head and the majority of them were born from confusion and jealousy. He was the strongest Alpha warrior in the pack. He was tall, handsome, quiet and owned a velvety voice that could make ladies drip at merely hearing it.

Kian stepped forward, his boot clad feet walking elegantly to close the distance between us, his long blond locks grazing his neck. His cloud gray eyes bore into mine, peering into my soul with that soulful gaze that made red crawl up my cheeks.

I was suddenly so self-aware, wondering if I looked presentable enough. His hands reached out for my face, his index finger gliding down my cheeks as he stared at me weirdly.

He sniffed my hair before humming. I couldn't control my excitement. As far as I was concerned, I had a crush on him since the day I had first set my eyes on him.

Knowing that I had finally found my mate and he was the man of my dreams brought tears to my eyes.

"Kian… my mate." I said as tears of joy slipped.

"You look beautiful." He leaned down and kissed my cheek, making me burn a bright red.

His touch sent electricity zapping through my body, straight to my heart. His plan was a little rough but his touch was gentle.

"Thank you." I muttered, unable to bear the heat of his stare.

He nodded, only humming in response, "I'm sorry." He whispered in my ear, making me shiver.

Sorry? What was he apologizing for?

He stepped away from me, his eyes suddenly darkening as a frown took over his features. He inhaled sharply, flashing darkened gray eyes at my confused form. What was going on? He seemed okay a moment ago.

"I'm sorry…"

The sentence kept ringing in my head and my heart beat accelerated.

"K-kian, what's going on?" I stuttered.

"I'm sorry but I can't accept you as my mate. I hope you understand." He said to me, in a low voice that held authority and commanded attention.

My eyes grew frantic as I looked around, people were already muttering and Elise was staring murderously at me. I turned to him, "no, no, please. Please don't do this."

"I'm so sorry." He said again, his eyes darkening even more.

"Kian please, we can talk about this." I breathed out, on the verge of tears, my hands shaking as I reached out to touch him.

He moved away, evading my touch, "don't touch me. I, Kian Black, future Alpha of Blackmoon pack, hereby reject you, Jane Miller, as my mate and future Luna."

"No. You can't do this to me. I'm your fated, please." I cried out in pain.

My heart sank as my heart beats echoed in my head. I could only watch him in shock as he severed our mate bond. He opened his arms, beckoning on someone and my heart shattered even more, pain coursing through my veins as I saw Hilda majestically strut up to him.

She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed his cheek and he smiled at her before turning to me, looking me dead in the eye, "and I accept, Hilda Elizabeth Marlowe, as my mate and future Luna."

I could only watch because my eyes remained glued on them, unable to look away. He shifted her hair from her neck and elongated his canines, his eyes glowing silver as he sank them into her neck, making her moan.

I staggered back, as applause erupted and Elise's satisfied eyes met mine. She was clapping for her daughter who was beaming from ear to ear, blushing from the bond she had just established with Kian, while my heart bled and my chest burned.

I looked around, hearing people mock me. They locked at me disapprovingly like I had tried to steal what was actually mine to begin with. I could hear them calling out insults instead of understanding my pain, tears  falling down my eyes as I battled a shattered heart and burning chest.

"Slut."

"Lowlife."

"Stupid omega."

"Can you believe she actually believed she stood a chance with Kian?"

"She's a freaking joke."

"Hilda looks so much better with him although I'm super jealous right now."

I heard them all. How could they say such after witnessing everything that had just happened? Their words echoed in my head and my beat feaster, threatening to burst in my chest as my emotions drowned me. My head was spinning and my heart was hurting. I felt like I was being set on fire.

"I'm so sorry, Jane ." Nala squeaked, trying to cheer me up despite being in pain.

I gasped, taking off as fast as I could, never looking back. I didn't want to hear them anymore. Their words were too wicked for me. I didn't want to even see them. I kept running, the whole scene replaying in my head.

How could he?

Who the hell did he think he was?

Haven't I suffered enough?

Why was life treating me like this?

I let out a soul piercing cry that drained me of my emotions. I cried again, my voice echoing in the darkness as I ran. I didn't even care if my heel was going to break or my gown was going to tear. What was the point anymore? The one I was supposed to belong to blatantly rejected me.

I never expected this from Kian. It came as a heavy blow, numbing my reasoning and leaving me frozen. What had I ever done to him to deserve this? Because I was weak? Because I was a fucking omega? He couldn't even give our bond a chance.

I ran  till I was in front of a glowing building. I sniffled, knowing that I probably looked bloated with puffy eyes and a red nose. I was so exhausted, both mentally and physically.

I walked into the bar, inhaling the strong scent of alcohol. Surprisingly the bar was almost empty. I found only a woman sitting with her friends by a table and a guy seated by the counter.

I took a seat beside him, feeling numb from my body to my soul. I looked up at the waitress who flashed me a worried gaze, "are you okay, miss?" She asked.

I chuckled darkly. Was I okay? Did I really look okay to her? "Give me the strongest shit you have please." I hoarsely said.

I noticed eyes boring a hole in my head and sighed. The waitress served me a little glass and I downed it instantly, hissing as the strong liquid burned its way down my throat. I never was one to drink but tonight, fuck all my principles. "Another one."

"I'm guessing you got jilted." His deep voice chuckled.

I shot him an arched brow, "ever heard of mind your business?"

I sighed, watching the waitress serve me another shot which I wasted no time in emptying. "Please keep it coming." I rasped, tapping my nails against the wooden counter.

I couldn't think, my whole system had shut down.  I was in too much pain and I knew very well that the alcohol in my system was not helping in easing the pain my body was going through, but it was making it easier to bear.

The waitress brought out a tray, poured out the mixture into three glasses and brought it over to me. I smiled at her, already feeling tipsy from the very alcoholic shit that she was serving me. I didn't even know what was mixed in it but I did know that whatever it was, was freaking working.

"Well, it's hard when a beautiful lady like yourself suddenly walks in here looking like she's cried her eyes out, dressed in white." He turned to face me, sniffling as he brought his shot glass to his lips, gulping it down, "groom ran away?" He arched an amused brow at me.

My dizzy eyes took in his form and my goodness, he was handsome. Black curls framed his face, his light hazel eyes glinting at me as his tongue darted to graze his canine and lick the corner of his mouth.

He chuckled when he noticed me blatantly checking him out and said, "I know, I know… but apparently she didn't seem to care." He muttered.

My interest was suddenly piqued. My sudden attraction to him plus the alcohol in my system was the perfect recipe for my  impending disaster. But if that disaster was going to begin and end with him then I didn't fucking care.

"You got dumped too huh?"

He laughed, "yeah… why else would I be trying to drown my misery. She rejected me."

I scoffed, "same here. Numb doesn't even begin to describe how I feel." I mumbled with a heavy sigh, downing another shot.

"I have an idea…" he turned to me, "how about we keep each other company?" He gave me a side glance, his eyes glinting mischievously.

I bit onto my lips, my eyes darkening as I stared at him. I didn't give a fuck anymore.

***

"So beautiful." He breathed out, softly nibbling on my ear lobe, making me moan softly.

My body was on fire from the heat his passion brought. Everything about him oozed sex-appeal and I was drawn to him like a moth to a flame.

He found my lips again, claiming then hungrily. I returned the kiss, growing addicted to his strong taste of whiskey. His tongue fought against mine, his hands tightening its grip on my bare waist as he drew me impossibly closer to him.

He jacked me up, backing me to the wall, his lips never leaving mine.

He groaned, pulling me further into pleasure's unholy haze. He bit on my lower lip, making me shudder.

He nuzzled into my neck, making me tip my head back and moan helplessly. His tongue danced on my skin, his teeth nipping on my skin as he trailed kisses up and down my body.

I pulled away from him, yearning to feel him. My shaking fingers began unbuttoning his shirt as I tipped my head back.

His bare chest knocked the breaths out of my chest. His muscles were toned and defined, a few tattoos lying around. I lightly traced the lines of his chiseled abs, moaning at how his muscles tightened, the more I trailed my hands down. I could feel his lustful eyes on me but the alcoholic haze made it all the more fun.

"I want to  taste you and do things to you that you'd never be able to forget me." he breathed out against my skin, while I was left a panting, moaning mess.

I looked at him boldly in those penetrative orbs of his, feeling myself get lost in them, "then what's stopping you?"

He let out a low growl before moving us towards the bed, his lips claiming mine with such passion that made me dizzy. His kisses were like a drug that I didn't want to ever lose. His tongue danced against mine, making me moan in his mouth, tugging on his hair like a wild animal.

Dangerous desires were cooking and if we weren't careful we'd get burnt.

He threw me on the bed, quickly taking off his pants which I propped myself on my elbow, watching him through hooded eyes.

He hovered over me, parting my legs as he wedged himself in-between my legs, leaning down to inhale my scent.

"You're going to enjoy tonight, my little flower. I promise to be gentle."

  • The Lycan King’s Obsession    Chapter 194

Jane’s POV“I’m coming for you Sinclair,” I muttered before running out of the pack at high speed. With each step I took I could feel my speed and strength coming back as I zipped through the pack leaving the pack to the mercy of a rampaging Sinclair.I ran for minutes, passing a wreck site before meeting Martha and the rest of the pack on the road heading for Sullivan’s pack.“Are you okay?” she asked with indigo floating to me as I nodded.“I am.”“Where is the alpha?”“He lost control and right now he’s destroying the entire pack.”“Good for those bastards,” I heard Indigo mutter with some of the witches muttering in agreement.“Those people didn’t do anything wrong to him. The one who did was Sullivan and I’m sure he’s dead right now. Same thing goes for Ethan. He’s probably dead. Sinclair has so much anger and rage in his body that he would do anything to break through the world if possible.”“It’s the magic. He’s lost his humanity,” said Martha. “I’m guessing you used the hex.”

  • The Lycan King’s Obsession    Chapter 193

Sinclair’s POVShe nodded looking at the hex. She concentrated on it, using her magic to infuse into the hex.“Are you thinking of how to put it on?” I asked her as she nodded.“Just give me a moment.”I would give her the amount of time she needed. So long as I would get my super strength at the end of the day. I would rather die an alpha's death than escape a coward. She closed her eyes, putting her thumb to her mouth as she bit it and poured some blood on the hex which turned to a phone-like device with a lever. She pushed it down with two holes appearing on its side. Soon enough the holes released a lot of smoke in my direction before going out into the open.I felt my strength returning slowly.“The smoke is getting heavier,” she said to her feet.I casually stood up, breaking the chains holding me down. I was at full strength now and I could still feel my powers growing.I grabbed hold of her chains, breaking them off.“I don’t feel so bad. I mean, I can still feel my powers gro

Jane’s POVHe sighed, looking to his knees. “I even had a fight with the witches before leaving. She was trying to explain something to me and I pushed her aside in anger. I wanted to understand why you would cheat on me so I decided to come here on my own and see what was going on.”I couldn’t blame him. Ethan was a snake. Ethan had made me leave the pack anyway.“Ethan was behind this all along,” he blurted as I stared at him in shock.“He what?!”“He did so much to you that you don’t even know it’s from him. Ethan needs to be stopped permanently.”I agreed with him.I told him about the hex Martha had created for me which would amplify my powers and he was fascinated by it.“So how does this work? Do we say some magic word or do we just use it alongside your powers?”“Magic words are fine. We’ll use the magic hex like a smoke screen to escape but we have to be very careful as the hex has different sides to them.”He tilted his head. “What do you mean?”I could see his wounds were n

Sinclair’s POVNow I had to deal with my stubbornness. It had brought me to the end.The door opened again with two hefty guards getting in.They looked at me and opened my cell, dragging me by the chains out of the cell.I didn’t expect them to treat me nicely since I was going to die anyway and I couldn’t pretend how much it hurt, leaving everything in the care of my brother. He was a wrecking ball. The pack would crash in a few days.He lacked the leadership skills I had. He was impatient, unkind and crude to people. There was no way he was capable of leading the pack.I was dragged out of the building with the crowd screaming for my head to roll. The guards took me to a podium to tie me down to a ledge. There I would stay and wait for my execution to arrive.***Jane’s POVI was dragged out by one of the guards as they said the alpha was about to be killed off so I needed to see him.He dragged me out of the room like I was a child and we were out of the room soon enough, walking

Martha’s POVNow this man’s words were the last straw for me. I stood up with a frown.“Those who will ride with me to take out Ethan should follow me,” I walked to the door. “Those who choose to stay have sided with Ethan. You don’t know how dangerous you are until you have tried fighting the beasts you fear.”Walking out of the throne room made me feel weak. What if no one followed me? I thought to myself. What if I walked out and looked back only to find no one but myself? That would hurt. Everything I had given to this pack would be taken for granted. No one would see me and Indigo as leader material and I would not be chosen to lead alongside indigo again. When I reached the gate, I heaved a heavy breath, turning to see everyone from the throne room before me. Even the ones who had refused to follow were present.“You all showed up,” I smiled. One of the wolves stepped forward. “I figured since we were going to die anyway, we might as well make it mean something. The people in t

  • The Lycan King’s Obsession    Chapter 189

Martha’s POVMy eyes darted from big to small, taking in their sights. Anyone who moved carelessly would take in my wrath which I was glad to give off.“Anyone who has something to say would say it when the time is right. For now, I would advise you all to sit down and let her finish with the story.”Everyone settled down as I waved for the girl to continue but she told me she was done. The story was unbelievable. Sinclair, defeated? That was not possible. Even I found that hard to believe. It was Sinclair we were talking about. There was no way he would be beaten by anyone. I could not even fight with him on even grounds without taking a beating. How had he lost?Yes, she had said he was taken down by three alphas and a lot of wolves, plus he had been shot by archers who had wolfsbane infused poisoned arrows but it wasn’t a concrete story I would believe so blindly.“Are you sure of what you’re saying or you’re making stuff up?” I asked the wolves on my side for a change. “Because le
