LOGIN“Find me another shaman! A healer, a purifier! Anyone!” Logan screamed at the man who came to deliver the news that the Shaman wasn't available.
“Yes sir,” The messenger scurried away immediately, biting his upper lip nervously, as he wasn't sure if he could get another person.
After waiting for what seemed like an hour, Logan paced around the room restlessly, his chest rising and falling heavily. He was in grave discomfort. He couldn't hold on any longer and he barged out of his room.
Just then, he saw the messenger approaching the door with the shaman who he said wasn't available. The messenger had to return to plead with the shaman.
“Greetings, my alpha.” The bearded shaman greeted.
“Start work immediately.” Logan instructed, ignoring the man's greetings.
The shaman requested for the needed items. Purified water, candles, incense and a tray of assorted herbs.
He boiled the herbs and wrapped Logan in a cloak, allowing the steam from the herbs to sink into his body.
“But my Alpha,” the shaman stated. “I don't think a broken mate bond did any harm to you. There's literally nothing to cleanse.”
Logan raised his head and looked at the man with eyes that seemed like they could kill.
The healer swallowed hard. “I'm so sorry sir. I'd continue with my work.”
The rest of the purification continued in silence with only the rustling of the leaves the clanking of the bowls, and Logan's coughs due to the steam, being the only sound the filled the room.
When the shaman left, Logan still didn't take off the cloak. He inhaled deeply and wrapped it even tighter around his body.
He needed to get rid of whatever sorcery that the mate bond had done to him. When he found his mate, he expected his body to resist it being that it was a man. Instead, his body betrayed him by yearning for this man.
It was that feeling that caused Logan to set the man free. But after snapping back to his normal self, he couldn't allow the man to keep living, he had to end that strange feeling. And he had no regrets about it.

THE NEXT DAY
Logan had to prepare for his Alpha duties, which were a lot more this week that the last. The first thing on his mind was to supervise the construction project that extended from the new bridge to the road in the eastern district.
He sat alone in his quiet opulent dining room. The table stretched far. Trays of meals and fruits lined the table. He used to eat with his family, but not anymore.
He took a sip of the soup from the bowl and grimaced in utter disgust.
“What's this?” He thundered and the maid who was already trembling from setting his meals on the table shook even more.
“It is the soup prepared by the chef.” The maid managed to say.
The chef ran out from the kitchen upon hearing Logan shout her name.
“You put garlic in my food? How many times do I have to warn you?” Logan questioned and flung the hot bowl of soup at the chef.
The hot soup burned into her skin, causing her to wince in pain.
“I'm so sorry sir. I'd prepare another.” She picked the tumbled plate from the floor and rushed to the kitchen.
Just then, Caine walked inside.
“The car is ready, boss.”
Logan nodded his head and glanced at the kitchen. He grabbed an apple and followed Caine, leaving the rest of the food on the table.
He was sure of one thing. He would definitely punish the chef for causing him to miss his breakfast.
The driver hit the road with Caine sitting in the front passenger seat with the driver, while Logan relaxed at the back seat.
When they got to their destination, Caine and Logan alighted from the vehicle, while the driver remained inside.
Logan wore his sunglasses to shield his eyes from the brazen effect of the sun and walked towards the men who wore their construction apron and helments while working.
They greeted him, and he responded to their greetings with few words, while examining the work they had done so far.
He nodded his head to whatever seemed impressive, and corrected them in the aspects that they faltered.
“I think the men are good with their work. I would have let you supervise it alone.” Logan addressed his beta.
He walked towards the car, ready to leave to the next construction site. Caine joined him in the car. The second site wasn't yet developed. The workers on that site had taken a leave and were to resume the next month.
The site still had trees and deep ridges around it that the car couldn't drive further. Caine and Logan had to get down from the car to walk towards the site. Their boots kept dipping into the mud as they moved.
Logan looked around the work that the engineers had started. They had began leveling part of the ground.
He turned towards his side to address Caine, but he wasn't there.
“Caine?” He called out, wondering where his beta had gone to.
“I'm here, Sir.” Caine responded as he walked towards him.
Logan pointed at something that the engineers didn't do well to show Caine, when suddenly, a sharp pain tore into his neck.
He yelped and grabbed his neck with one hand. Someone moved swiftly in the trees and fired another bullet into his chest this time around. Luckily for him, it missed his heart, but it was enough to make him collapse.
As he fell to the ground, he called out to Caine. “Get help.”
Caine hesitated and looked around as if checking if anyone was looking at him. Then, the man who had shot Logan emerged from behind the trees, smiling broadly at Caine. It was Griffin, his lover.
Caine crouched to Logan's level on the floor and took out a knife from his pocket.
Logan widened his eyes in utmost shock and before he could say anything, Caine stabbed him in the chest.
Everything went black.
“I am Theo and this is Monty.” Theo said and wrapped his hand firmer around Monty's waist. “We are couples and we want to breed.”“Oh. I'm Sam. I should have known already. I'm so sorry to keep you both standing out there.”Sam excused from the passage to allow them to enter inside. Monty and Theo walked in. The air smelt different. It smelt like a sort of herb had been used. Monty spotted the scented candles in the corners and guessed that was what was purifying the atmosphere. The room had some portraits hanging on the wall. Most of the portraits were of pregnant men, while one was of a landscape. Monty stared at the portrait of a particular man's belly. There was just something that drew him to the portrait.Sam motioned towards a chair and they sat in it. Sam sat opposite. Same faced them and then he chuckled. They couldn't understand what was funny.“I'm sorry for laughing. It's just that I can always tell who wants to carry the baby from when the couple steps inside. Don't tell
MONTY AND THEOTheo left Silas' study. He promised to return after he quickly checked up on Monty. He had left Monty out for too long and wanted to meet him again. He excused himself from Silas and hoped that Silas wouldn't change his mind from the plan once he left. He knew Silas' mind wasn't so stable on the plan. Silas was still contemplating if he should do it, but Theo knew the rules of the harsh world. It was either you played or you got played and he wasn't willing to do the latter, especially not with the Dovan brothers.Who were the Dovan brothers? Theo and Silas weren't just rulers of Hericon. They were born alphas, but they were street children most of their lives. Theo grew up living on the streets and entered into a life of hooliganism and pickpocketing in his teen years. He met Silas later and Silas was a naive boy who was left to fend for himself. Theo's initial plan was to exploit Silas, but after seeing how innocent and trusting that Silas was, he decided to introduce
THEOHe was called into Silas' study. He walked behind the messenger who led him there, regardless of him already knowing the place. Silas turned around as he heard them approach. Silas was facing the window with his hands clasped behind him.“You're here,” he mentioned and also motioned with his right hand for the messenger to leave. The messenger bowed slightly and then left. Silas took a deep breath and didn't say anything. Theo stepped further inside. The door was shut behind him.“Brother, I know this must have been important for you to call me here.”Silas sighed deeply again and he walked towards the desk. He sat by the edge of it and faced Theo.“There is a problem.” Silas confessed and had a worried look masking his face. “I'm afraid someone is back and we may not really be able to handle it.”A crease formed between Theo's brows. He didn't fully understand what Silas was talking about. He held his peace. He wasn't going to explode immediately. He was going to give Silas some
MONTY AND THEO They arrived at the Hericon palace. It didn't take a long while and even Monty was surprised at how fast they were able to walk. They had gone there by foot and didn't bother using a transport medium. When they entered the Hericon palace, they sat down in the general room and waited for Silas to arrive. Monty squinted his eyes as he noticed someone pass at the far end. He had thought that he had seen Drake pass by. He didn't want to think about the possible reasons why Drake would be in the palace. After all, he was sure that all the omegas had been relieved of their duties. He wondered if Drake was up to some mischief while being there. He decided to not think too much about it and just brushed it off.A male worker walked towards them and Theo looked up instantly.“King Silas asked that you meet him in his library.”Theo nodded and stood along with Monty. When the messenger saw that Monty was planning on following as well, he spoke again. “Alone,”Monty swallowed har
They finished and Theo collapsed on the bed. He was a bit out of breath. Monty laid on his chest and they cuddled together. Theo wanted to go for a second round, but seeing that Monty's eyes were already fluttering shut, he decided to allow his omega to have some rest.He pulled Monty closer to him and allowed Monty to nestle on his chest. He felt Monty breathing on his chest. Theo yawned and patted Monty on the back, pulling him to sleep better. When Monty was finally asleep, he took a deep breath.Theo got up from the bed and adjusted Monty on the pillow so that he wouldn't be woken from sleep. He got up and read the message that Silas had sent. Silas had demanded that Theo should be available and they had important things to discuss.Theo hadn't planned to go to the Hericon palace throughout the week. He was actually taking a break from it, and Silas' message just changed his mind about it. He didn't know what Silas called for him. The message had been vague and didn't contain any
MONTY AND THEOMonty didn't suspect anything. He didn't see what Theo was carving for him. He simply sat down next to Theo. Theo had picked another block of wood and was working on it. Theo was actually making a gift for Monty. He wanted to make a flower vase earlier, but changed his mind and decided to make a cradle charm—something he would hang on the cradle for the child who was soon coming. He had to hide it away because he didn't want Monty seeing it before the pregnancy.“You carve beautifully. Maybe you could teach me how to carve.” Monty said as he picked up the wood that was chipped. He looked at it.To him, it didn't look like anything yet. He couldn't tell what Theo was making. He dropped it back.“I'd definitely teach you. It's something I had been doing since I was a little boy. My childhood was quite rough and I had to cater for myself. I ended up falling in love with wood carving.”Monty smiled. He loved when Theo told him stories about his life because Theo barely talk
He stumbled backwards till he collided with the wall and Lucian hit him again on the head, causing him to fall flat on the floor.Lucian raised his leg to stomp Logan's head, before Uncle Sam stopped him.“That's enough. Leave him alone.”Lucian backed away in annoyance and dashed inside. Elyria, t
His head throbbed, and his limbs felt extremely sore. Drops of water from the roofing zinc above, fell on his head. Logan opened his eyes slowly, he was lying in a pond of muddy water. The last thing he remembered was the bullet, and Caine too. Caine stabbed him. “But where am I?” He asked himself.
A FEW DAYS LATER“How long has it been since you sent the message?” Logan asked Caine, while tapping his feet restlessly on the floor as he sat down.“Over a month now, alpha. I sent physical letters, then emails, but the Lycan King hasn't responded to any. I think it's best to take our eyes off th
A trio of haggard looking men were pushed forward. They were shirtless, with unkempt beards, having visible ribcages like they had been starved for weeks. They were thrown forwards to kneel before Logan.“I denounce it.” One of the prisoners screamed at the top of his voice.A taunting smirk appear
