Chapter 8 : Avoid Him

Lilienne delivered me my meal. She also gave me medicine for my body pain, despite not verbally asking it. The meal was not enough for the kind of work I did today, but it was better than nothing. I thought of it as the brighter side, and stuff myself. Lilienne watched me eat. She attempted to talk to me, perhaps to lift up the mood, and entertain me but I did not allow it. I would always just respond in a word or two.

I wasn’t in the mood to talk. I clearly expressed that. I was gathering myself, thinking how it would be tomorrow. How I would save myself, at least for the days the King wasn’t here. I cannot sit still after what I heard. And I certainly cannot die here.

“Is there anything you want, Miss Eve?” Lilienne asked as she keep the utensils and plate that I used. “Do you want to take a bath? I’ll make sure the water is warm for you to be relaxed.”
