“I had been looking for you, Declan.” The Queen’s eyes were careful. Cautious. Her eyes went directly to the King, scrutinizing him. “You don’t have any schedule with Eve today, do you?”

She was worried. But I knew she was more than that on the inside. The way she was avoiding my eyes, like she was trying to ignore my patience was a subtle indication that she was holding back. She was angry. And I was starting to calculate how much work that would put me in tomorrow.

“I was just about to leave,” the King casually said, as he turned to her. “Why are you here? Did I not tell you not to come into her room once she enter?”

The Queen’s gaze hardened. I could not help but look down on her hands, to see what kind of reaction it would make. Her fingers folded, just as what I was expecting. The veins on it showed, before I saw her hid it behind her. Then, she plastered a smile on her soft pinkish lips.

“I wanted to come see you. I.. have missed you.”

Longer chapters would be nice. 7 pages is pretty short for an update.
