Chapter 10

I smelt the shadow before I saw it coming towards me. It smelt like rotten eggs and full sewages. It took all I had not to gag as my heightened senses were flooded with the nasty smell.

I saw the black shadow looming ahead of me, come closer and my heart started racing. I knew I had to keep calm so I could think and act clearly.

The shadow got nearer and nearer. The closer he got, the more I tried to prepare myself for the inevitable.

When the shadow finally came into view, it was a wolf.

The slight bolt of relief I felt upon discovering it was a wolf soon vanished as the wolf came into full view.

It was very massive. Big in the way only powerful wolfs could be. Its fur was black like obsidian and it was covered in wounds. Small cuts, open sores, and badly healed scars. It looked absolutely terrifying.

I wondered if it was a rogue wolf, which had gotten lost or barely survived a fight. But when I looked into its piercing golden eyes, there was nothing human in that gaze.

How much do they expect from this woman, after what she's already been through. She needs rest not more questions and accusations. Give her a damn break.
